Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Many thanks 9265359 fof your prompt and accurate reply, that's a great help. I hope the remaining days on your cruise are fun filled.
  2. Thanks Cathygh, I assume you recommend this wine?
  3. I noticed the Captain's and Commodore's Wine packages have not only gone up in price very recently (£134 for 6 bottles Captain's and £178 Commodore's) but some wines which were previously Captains are now Commodore (Gavi di Gavi) Does anyone have a wine and other drinks list from the last couple of weeks so we can see the new prices and see if the packages are still reasonable value?
  4. If you do not finish your bottle of wine in a restaurant I assume you can take it back to your cabin and then, the next day take it with you to a bar or restaurant. Is the bottle marked or stamped to show you it's one bought on the ship?
  5. I understand the Captain's Wine Package is £230 for 12 bottles but I cannot see the wines listed on the package as being available to buy a la carte. I take it there is good availability of the wines included in the package, I quite like a Gavi and I can only see it on the Captain's package, would this generally be available, I don't want to buy the package only to find there is a very limited selection actually available. Also are the wines on the Captain's package generally of a reasonable quality (I appreciate it's matter of taste but in general terms) Thanks
  6. As I mentioned, I have a screenshot taken at 8am on the day of disembarkation showing I owe $0. Gottagocit, No nothing like that purchased. david63, it would be nice to have sight of the final folio from Princess, so glad I took a screenshot on the morning of disembarkation, just in case.
  7. Always check inbox and spam at the same time soni, not in there, but thanks for taking the time to try to help.

9265359, Thanks for your comprehensive reply. I quoted and included much of what you have said to the Irish Government Minister. I know that the stamping of my passport means nothing. Your information regarding the EES is welcome, I wasn't aware it had been released the passport user would be able to access the record and dispute any days spent in Schengen with their spouse. Are you aware if their will be a way of connecting my passport to my husbands to show the relationship. I wonder how they will know, records wise, when I have travelled with him and when without. I have had my marriage certificate apostilled in preparation in case that is required. Do you have any idea how it will all be organised and run.
  9. I got off the Island Princess on Wednesday. I did not receive a final statement either to my room or by email. I did take a screenshot of my account at 8am on disembarkation day showing I was 50c in credit. I just checked my credit card to see I have been charged $100 on disembarkation day by the 'Island Princess' This doesn't seem to be a pending charge, the $100 is taken into account on my card balance in the statement. Is this actually pending charge which will drop off? Advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

9265359, have you had to prove this at a Schengen border? My husband has an Irish passport and we have always travelled together but, so far, have kept out Schengen travels to just below the 90/180 limit. I am very interested in how this would be sorted at a cruise checkin desk, I can imagine the scenario: Husband and I go to check in but, because the cruise would put me over the 90/180 (my passport is always stamped on entry exit to Schengen, but his EU passpot of course isn't) I am denied boarding. I can't see the staff at Southampton being swayed by me producing numerous copies of old boarding and check in documents showing we always travel together and it doesn't apply. I have even contacted the Irish Government by email for clarification as to whether there is an exemption, due to the infringment of his right to travel because of my non EU status and they said no such exemption exisited...even after me quoting the relevent Act (or whatever it is) I am looking for a couple in a similar situation to mine who has managed to travel over the 90/180 and been let into a Schengen country even though the border guard was aware the 9-/180 had been exceeded.
  11. Mysticalmother, your situation is almost identical to mine. I had two dining credits, tried but was unable to book on the app so called Princess and booked, told no charge but then find two charges on my credit card. I was told I could 1: Cancel the bookings and get a refund on my card and rebook on board. Not great as it would be unlikely I could get the same same bookings.. 2: Keep the bookings go to Customer Services and they would refund me in cash...which of course would be $. What use are $ on a UK based ship travelling to Norway!!! I also have little confidence the desk will accept my word that I have been incorrectly charged. I do have a printed copy of my cc statement but, well, lets see. Would you please keep us informed of what happens. I would well, good luck!
  12. I had to call Princess to make my initial specialty restaurants as part of the Premier package and was told they were part of my package. I couldn't book on line, I kept getting 'thrown out' even though it was showing I had two meal credits. A few days ago I checked my credit card statement and it showed I had been charged. I contacted Princess to be told I could either cancel the bookings and get a refund on my card or when on board go to Customer Services and get a cash refund. I am UK based but the refund would be in dollars. Neither option is ideal to me.
  13. Be aware there are about 3 different docks used by cruise ships and these are not that close to each other (maybe 2 miles between them all, possibly more) So check which dock your ship is scheduled to use when booking your hotel.
  14. FrankieJayIII, Which drinks, especially wines and whisky, do you recommend included in the Premier Package? Cheers
