  1. I believe both New Zealand and Australia are closing their ports at least through the remainder of the year. They may open their borders just between the two of them.
  2. Arriving home from Venice after an awesome Mediterranean Cruise
  3. Best news This news literally makes my day; possibly even my year the way things are going!!!!!! I will start looking ahead for next year or the year after; depending!
  4. Monte Carlo. Hopefully, will be able to do same Med. cruise next April
  5. I would love to rebook my Med. cruise now for next April but am waiting for clarification from HAL regarding their over 70 policy. I am 72 and a very well controlled diabetic - Upon my most recent physical my MD said I could easily live another 20 years! Will wait a bit for this policy to be ironed out. I would be traveling solo.
  6. Barcelona. Waiting to sail tomorrow on the Nieuw Amsterdam
  7. We were looking at this cruise too but rumor has it Australia and New Zealand will be shutting their ports for quite awhile. These two countries have almost eliminated Coronavirus!
  8. I imagine by the time most cruises are starting to go out again. this will be clarified one way or the other.
  9. I think I was ahead of he curve. I had to cancel March 5 for my end of April cruise - couldn't wait out for HAL to cancel which it did - because had other plans that needed to be cancelled at that time. I got 50/50 - cash/FCC. My credit card was reimbursed for the 50 percent cash I was due on March 7 - not sure what exactly my FCC is. Not posted yet.
  10. I cancelled my trip with the 50/50 arrangement - the mix of cash back and FCC. I was to travel with friends on the Nieuw Amsterdam April 28 Med. Tapestry. Quite disappointed naturally. My friends are not available next year to cruise. If I decide to go it would probably be a solo trip and not sure at my age - 72 - that I want to do this. That is if HAL would permit me ( have well controlled diabetes - and am in excellent health according to my dr. I have a feeling that if things aren't settled by December 31 2020 I will let the FCC go. I am hoping that maybe HAL will extend the booking deadline. If I am denied boarding - I would never ask my dr. for the required letter and don't think he would sign it anyway - I wonder if HAL would refund the FCC. - anyway, two separate topics here I guess - all this remains to be seen. Thanks for letting me put all this out there!
  11. I will be approaching 70 and not sure that I don't want to have someone along with me in case I should run into any unexpected problems. That is, if I am allowed to travel by HAL - If not I want my FCC refunded!!
  12. I guess it all depends on your TA, but I have found that my TA gets quicker results than I do as an individual.
  13. If this proves to be true, since I fall in this category myself. I would like my FCC back as cash!
  14. Home - but packing for my Nieuw Amsterdam trip for April 28 - I always start packing early!
