  1. I understand where you are coming from, but that did not feel right to us. We already had gone to Guest Services to say we were disappointed that we did not have the luggage mat on the bed; so our freshly made bed got a bit dirty from our luggage. The person at Guest Services cautioned us to making complaints as he had also been a steward. We always tip extra for our stewards but not this time.
  2. The way to disable the one in the hall is to cover the sensor. We used just a bit of cardstock and it worked great, We removed it in the morning because our cabin steward did not want it there. He was the worst steward we have ever had. He was friendly and trying, but it was just not jiving.
  3. You really did cover a lot of ground! Congrats!
  4. On Italian night, we ate in the buffet. We enjoyed some very good Italian food there!
  5. Agreed! It worked very well for us. We could get off when and where we choose.
  6. The sensor is on the light unit on the ceiling in front of the closet.
  7. Not if your cabin steward is the one we had! He was on night light patrol, removing the paper covering the sensor.
  8. We also visited the Tower of London in May 2022 and spent quite a bit of time there. We were able to see the Crown Jewels. We also used two different HOHO buses and that worked well for us.
  9. We were also on this cruise. The auto night lights were new to us and we are not fans. The hall light is like a search light when your cabin mate gets up to use the bathroom! So DH fixed it by covering the sensor and I would place a pillow in front of the sensor for the nightstand. We enjoyed the entertainment as well. All of our shore excursions were private and we had great weather except for one port that was super cold and windy! That tour was our worst one as well. The crew was great except we were disappointed with our cabin steward. He was probably the worst one we have ever had so we did not tip him "extra".
  10. I would arrive the day before boarding. The train can have all sorts of issues for a timely arrival. It is not worth it.
  11. We did the British Isles in May 2022. We loved it!!! We just flew on Virgin Atlantic from Seattle to LHR for a Norway and Iceland cruise and we were very impressed with Virgin and would fly that again. Have great time!
  12. Lucky for me (and most of us), we own this handy dandy small item called a cell phone which we use as our night light. And................... it lights directly in front of us EVERY time and even shows the way. This is much preferred by most versus the other bright lights which disturb our sleeping cabin mates. I guess those ships without night lights will be sued up the yin yang as you have stated.
  13. We disembarked the Sky last Saturday. This light was quite annoying to us as we live in a tiny town on the coast with basically no street lights. Yikes! DH used the card on the desk which notifies one about the plug adapter and used that to cover the sensor. Apparently our mediocre at best cabin steward did not like that so he removed it. Well, so we "reinstalled" it when we were in the cabin for the night and removed it when we left the cabin. If needed during the night, we just use our cell phone to light the way. Oh............ then there is that stupid light under the nightstand!!!!! Good grief!!! Well, a pillow from the loveseat next to it on the floor works well.
  14. We were just on the sky for 14 nights. Rock Opera was on one night only at 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Both shows were packed and arriving at least 45 minutes early is advised.
  15. We disembarked on June 17th. We were in a Deluxe Balcony and had only two US outlets at the desk, one of which was in use with the tea kettle. There was also one in the bathroom for shavers and could handle plugging in a phone or tablet. The lamps each had the USB outlet for a phone/ tablet device.
  16. We just disembarked the Sky on June 17th. When you are dropped off at the port, there is a desk where you will fill out luggage tags and attach them. Then they will tell you which luggage bay to drop your bags off. Then you will get in line by the large doors (this is very close to the luggage drop off) and they will tell you when you can enter. It was very easy to check in. We waited in our assigned area for maybe 10 minutes and then were led to get on the ship. We were on by 10:30 but the cabins were ready about 12:30
  17. Ok. Thanks. We were aft. But maybe they move around? Safe travels to you.
  18. Without detailed information, it is tough to answer your question. If I had a cabin number, that would help. I have found YouTube and the images tab on a search to be very helpful. Please excuse the mumbling below. I am onboard the Sky and can not fix it. I will add to the comments regarding the Caribe deck. It is a great deck on the older ships. @skynight
  19. We have NEVER paid shipping for our medallions. We cruised twice last year on Princess. They will not fix it or reimburse us be cause they are very unaware of their own written policies. Yes, I also did ask Guest Services onboard.
  20. @Rick&Jeannie I believe it was you who mentioned that your cabin steward was a bit lackluster. May I ask about where your cabin was (on the Sky)? We get off of the Sky tomorrow and our steward has also been "lackluster". Thx
  21. I believe that it is used as a deposit on a future cruise. OBC (On Board Credit) can be used after you board the ship for purchases.
  22. Just look at the balcony you circled. Part of it is metal. There are many photos of the ship online if you select the "Images" tab.
