  1. Did this cruise in September last year. Wildest life was seen the evening in Warnemunde when they had a local brass band on board and the lido set up to represent a bierkeller. Otherwise there was nothing to be seen.
  2. We are both good, thanks! Nothing planned at the moment (we recently cancelled one to Corsica and Malta for October 2025) but I have itchy feet and want to go somewhere warm and sticky!
  3. canned water available with the drink package. Not very practical for shore excursions.
  4. maybe through a pacifier? 🤪
  5. Well, you had me there with the title of your thread! Kells is the name of a town about 50 miles north of Dublin city centre and Powerscourt is south of Dublin city centre. However you then say Book of Kells, which ofcourse is in Trinity College, Dublin. Very few cruise ships are docking in Dublin, so probably you will be tendering into Dun Laoghaire. It can be a long tender ride as the cruise ships have to anchor a good distance from the quay side because of tides and shipping channels. The 'Dart' (local train service) station is just beside the spot where the tender dock is located and you can pre purchase a 24 hour 'Leap card' for only €8 (eight euro). It will be delivered to your mail address (not email). This card covers Dart and Dublin Bus. Pre purchase is better than lining up at the Dart station to buy from the machines! https://about.leapcard.ie/leap-visitor-card Take the Dart to either Pearse station or Tara. Powerscourt is difficult to access by public transport. Best way is probably to return on the Dart as far as Bray station then take the Bus #185 to Enniskerry, which is the closest location to Powerscourt. It is then a 30 minute walk to the house. The bus is only every hour, so timing will be critical for your return, remembering to allow time for the tender back to the ship! https://www.transportforireland.ie/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/TFI-Go-Ahead-Route-185-Timetable-October-FA-online.pdf Powerscourt is nice enough but unless you really want to see it, then there are many other sites/sights to be seen in Dublin.
  6. Hi Lennie, how are you? When I look at menus for April 27th on NSDM there was a 'Dutch Themed Dinner' in the Lido that night and MDR had Bami Goreng, Hodge and Bosche Bol on the menu. Orange Party was the best ever (food wise!) https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/3004181-live-from-nieuw-statendam-14-day-canary-island-allure-april-21-may-5-2024/page/6/ (post #138)
  7. You lost my support at this comment. Ah so you booked 'on demand' dining? Perhaps a small ship with small dining room that is probably sailing at or near capacity, one would expect delays for dinner. Did you not have to sign for the spa services? Usually they get you to sign the docket which lists the services and their cost. Sorry it didn't work out for you.
  8. Agreed. My thinking was that currently chocolates are only distributed on dressy nights and if "in place of the traditional turn down chocolate guests find a Daelmans Stroopwafel waiting for them', then on a 7 day itinerary with two dressy nights, there will be one with Lindt and one with a waffle. Or will Dutch Day replace the second dressy night? Maybe I am overthinking this! I need a cruise!
  9. So let me get this straight.....one minute they are in collaboration with Lindt chocolate and the next they are stopping the turn down chocolate for a stroopwaffel? 🙄
  10. What have all these posts about emergency calls and numbers got to do with the original post about boarding documents? Enough thread drift!
  11. I had to goooogle what TLDR meant, but agree with you. It's not even the stretched out stories that appear on click bait websites, but paragraph after paragraph of verbiage.
  12. There is not a specific section in MDR, just general admission 😁. With Anytime Dining there is a separate line at the MDR for CO to be shown to a table. CO does not get access to Pinnacle Grill on non Pinnacle class ships, so not on Oosterdam.
  13. Signature Suite 6117 on Oosterdam https://halfacts.com/vista-class/6117-oosterdam/ There are USB ports at the bed side lockers
  14. Presuming that you have created your account on the website here: https://www.hollandamerica.com/en/eu/plan-a-cruise/post-booking/registration Then I suggest you give it a few days to catch up. Contact number for Holland America in Rotterdam - 00800-18731873 This is a European wide free phone number and may work in Spain. If it does not work then the direct number for Rotterdam is +31 800 7245425. If you have not yet created an account, then I suggest you delete the Navigator App then create your account on the website and then re install Navigator and use the same logon details.
  15. Of course there are no European cruise lines affected by this change of policy, only ships with North American cruisers!🙄 I suppose that is why Key West has voted against cruise ships so as to keep the rampaging British and European youths away?
  16. They have some good movies on the stateroom TV and they are free! Some unusual movies too, in April we watched a great movie about the 2012 finding of the remains of King Richard III (of England) who died in 1485.
  17. Bar staff have told me that if I add an amount to the 'gratuity' line of the bar bill, then they get that amount.
  18. I fear you will pay heavily for that privilege 🙄 It is $50 to upgrade from HIA Surf to Premium (8-10 day cruises). It will probably cost you +/- $200 to upgrade from HIA+ Premium level to Surf level on a 14 day cruise. Still for one device!
  19. The in room price is $6 +18% grat for 1 x 1l bottle of Aqua Panna. The in room price is $27 + 18% grat for 6 x 1l bottle. Be aware that local sales taxes may be applied so carefull ordering is necessary!
  20. As it was mentioned regarding priority boarding I would suggest it stands for those in Handicap Rooms/wheelchair assistance??
  21. Those prices are correct. Yes, it is per person, but there is no requirement for both occupants to have internet. You can purchase it for only one person or you can purchase different levels for different people. The multi device price covers up to 4 devices simultaneously, but using the same logon details. @Crew News has published the full price lists on his wonderful website here.
  22. i don't think Mariner discount makes any difference, not even the 5 star discount. Perhaps you intended to say On Board Credit?
  23. You can only purchase Surf package onboard. The onboard purchase price is $209.99 for 14 days. The Pre cruise offer of 20% off price for Premium is $207.99 for a 14 day cruise, if you wait until onboard then the Premium package is $259.99 for a single device. It is possible to switch from one device to another, but only one device at a time. One person can purchase a package either pre cruise on onboard. It is not necessary for both occupants to purchase. If you have HIA (Have it All) then it costs $50 to upgrade from Surf to Premium.
