  1. Yikes ! I have no idea what the cost will be....I just love the idea of the train ! ☺️ To be completely honest, I am not completely "sold" on the whole idea of using the train as I think the logistics of getting to/from the train station/home and then to/from train station/port to be somewhat daunting. The expense is certainly an issue but it's more a matter of convenience. I hate the thought of schlepping bags hither and yon plus having to wait around at a train station. There's something to be said for packing up the car and being done with it until you hit the port. On the other hand, the idea of not driving PLUS the savings of not parking, are attractive. I guess we'll just have to try it once it is feasible (the Stuart stop is functional).
  2. Be careful doing this ! A number of years ago we did this exact thing on a Grandeur sailing. We must have inadvertently disconnected the beds when we did it b/c some time during the night, the beds separated and a vast abyss developed between the 2 beds ! The room attendant fixed it the next day and we had a good laugh.
  3. I suspect most are referring to either a comp earned through casino play or a Crown & Anchor loyalty level comp (Pinnacle and beyond).
  4. LOL I still got it wrong ! You know what I meant....
  5. I understand ! I should have said, "...we have never ALWAYS had very good luck with the ships' laundry services..." Poor proofing on my part. A thousand pardons.
  6. I'll join the chorus and say that we have never had very good luck with the ships' laundry service. I send practically anything out to be laundered and have never had anything shrink, fade, be damaged or disappear with 1 single exception (and this happened when we were Star Class !). I once had a pair of yoga pants disappear but a pair of men's athletic pants appeared in their place. So while the "count" was correct, I did have a bit of a switcheroo occur. Other than that, we have always been extremely happy (and grateful) with the laundry service provided.
  7. We almost always get a 3 night package plus use our BOGO and it is great combo. For those restaurants that are exempting the BOGO vouchers, we just use one of our package nights. Frankly, you just never know until you get onboard which restaurants they are going to "exempt" from the BOGO vouchers. Even the same ship might have a different rule the next time you board !
  8. Amazing ! It doesn't look like it would take much more water to put it over the banks there, by the port !
  9. …and even more to the point, I suspect that those Pinns who had already started to stray (you, @cruise wizard and @island lady come immediately to mind) have caught their attention….and perhaps Royal is trying to plug that dike before it gets any bigger !
  10. Sorry if my post was confusing. The BOGO perk is only good once per person, per cruise. Since both my husband and I get one, we have 2 to use per cruise. Some ships require that your BOGO be used only on nights 1 and/or 2 but some ships allow you to use them on nights other than 1 and/or 2. If I’m not mistaken, the BOGO specialty dining perk is one of the loyalty perks that does not transfer as part of the Captains Club to Crown & Anchor loyalty match, unfortunately. It’s one of my favorite perks and we use ours nearly every cruise.
  11. In fairness, I really don't know since I've never used a solo supplement...but I BELIEVE that there are exemptions from the solo supplement and I don't THINK that suites are included. I know that certain times of the year (holidays, peak summer time, etc.) are exempt. Hopefully someone with more direct knowledge will help.
  12. No, that is not normal and I would have put the plastic bag out in the hallway if I had gotten that response ! Unfortunate that you received that response. We ALWAYS remove the duvet that is in the plastic bag and use it on our bed as a comforter during the day (for naps). With that out of the way, the plastic bag is pretty much empty and the plastic bag is not really a problem anymore. I completely understand that the "kit" (as they call it) is to prepare them for the next turnaround...but that's not my problem. It's not as if they don't have access to another duvet !
  13. This would be awesome ! I don't care where they put Portside (it seems logical to me that they would put Playmaker's where Sabor is but it doesn't really make a difference, IMO) but I would be very happy if they add it somewhere. I love the Sabor on Liberty but could never get the same experience at the Sabor on AL. Portside BBQ would be a much better venue than Sabor, I think.
  14. @xpcdoojk, very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.
  15. According to the information that came out recently, those "loyalty amenities" are excluded on both sides for those who are status match only. Presumably you would rate them once your points counts were reached.
  16. Even the MDR reservations are open now...at least they are on our 2 sailings. Unusual in that there is a 6:30 slot for MTD, which is the first time I've seen that in a very long time.
  17. I would ask the Concierge that question. As for confirming the reservation, I wouldn't worry too much about that. I have never had a Concierge not get a reservation done correctly...but it never hurts ! We have had wildly different experiences with BOGO on different ships. Sometimes we are required to book by day 2 and pay up front, sometimes we can book and pay anytime and sometimes we were restricted to using our BOGO only on nights 1 and/or 2 (although, this "restrictive" situation has been by far, in the minority). On our most recent sailing (Wonder) we were told to just go to the restaurant (I think it was Chops on night #4) and pay when we were done. It's a real shoulder-shrugger as to how they will handle it...but the Concierge will help you with this.
  18. Fingers crossed on that one ! 😜
  19. I suspect that the amplification specifics will depend largely on what hardware/equipment had already been pre-purchased and sitting around in storage, waiting to be installed for the past couple of years. I can’t see them “wasting” hardware/equipment that has already been purchased (purple slide, bionic bar, etc) even if it’s something that they might choose not to do if that decision were being made, today.
  20. The BOGO offer is good for onboard booking only. Yes, you will hear of some who have had success in purchasing the meals prior to boarding through the CP but that's not how the program is supposed to work and I have heard that more and more people are being denied the discount based on pre-boarding purchase through the CP. You CAN ask the Concierge to make your reservations for you prior to boarding and I strongly recommend that you do that....but your cost will be based on the current onboard prices. Having the Concierge help you with reservations will give you an advantage for getting the days and times of your choice.
  21. MTD rezzies recently opened for our Utopia sailing (9-13) and I was surprised to see a reservation time of 6:30, which we promptly snagged.
