Understand completely. I also booked while onboard and had a bad experience. I don’t think I would do it again.

While on board we booked a YC cruise for our anniversary. At the time the Royal Suite was not available but we were assured that we had flexibility with the Future Cruise Program to make that change if the room became available. We even saw the cruise consultant put a note in our reservation that we preferred the Royal suite. We placed a $398 deposit since the cruise was 5 months later.

One week after booking, the Royal suite was available. We notify our TA that we want to change rooms. MSC will not allow this and we would lose our original deposit, pay an additional deposit to book a more expensive room on the same ship and same date.  All within 7 days!  I don’t think the future cruise consultants fully understand the terms and misrepresented them to us. I think they had good intentions but it wasn’t a factual statement.

Thanks so much for sharing. I was feeling so sorta way over my experience.

  2. Currently onboard Seascape and booked a cruise next month for the Yacht Club.  I was told I could not receive the military discount as well as the onboard credit. Wondering what others have experienced.

I made payment in full. The agent made a mistake on the reservation which I discovered within 30 minutes after receiving the confirmation. This meant that our cruise would cost an additional $1500.00. When I approached her on the error she acknowledged her mistake and called in her supervisor.   I requested that the reservation be canceled. The supervisor told me that I could not cancel the cruise because I had made full payment but instead offered me a dinner and the onboard credit. I told her that I still had 24 hrs to cancel and she then said that didn’t apply to the Yacht Club bookings. I told her that wasn’t  true. They stated they would have to send an email to Miami and request permission to cancel. After waiting nearly two hours for them to cancel and process a refund, I call MSC customer service myself and cancelled the cruise receiving a full refund.   I hate being lied to and this has impacted my enjoyment of a wonderful cruise.

You are missing the point, it's pure greed. They could have taken $500 and upgraded us but instead tried to bilk us $800. As I mentioned we are loyal customers who have sailed many times.  After refusing to give us the cabin for the new price advertised they have the gall to come back with this offer. I don't care about "auto generated", when you call and talk to them your booking on file is updated. We have will have a credit and we will be sailing at some point, in all likelyhood the last time with MSC

They initially did the same with us but we were able to reach a “supervisor “ by going through the Voyager’s Club number.  We upgraded to Aurea experience at the website price which was only 220.00 total more than what we paid for Our initial Bella booking.

We will not print the photos on board but just want to have them digital online and print it at home.   The question is how strictley they handle the rules?

Well they certainly told everyone that only one cabin for the digital package.  However, for an additional fee additional cabinets can be included.  The printed photos are very nice and were cheaper than sending to Walmart.

    1. Can i get photo's taken with me and someone else of my party in the picture? Yes

    2. Is it also possible that others of my party take pictures alone on my digital package by just scanning my photocard?

Yes, we had the wristband and the card....so gave whoever....the. wristbed to use for pictures.

Thanks for the answer in advance!

  5. Okay, here’s the work around.  Have the photographer scan the bracelet/card for one room for all the pictures. We didn’t know  at first the deal is priced for one cabin only.

just purchased the digital package and all the printed photos onboard Seaside.  The original  price given was $400.00.  However the next day when went to purchase the price was $ 500.00.  The Photo Manager faked a case of amnesia.

He combined the photos attributed to two different cabins.

Thanks for the info. Due to board her 14th March so keeping a close eye on things. On a slight positive, did you feel a difference to the level of service provided due to less people onboard?

The service was fantastic and so was the interaction with ship officers.  The officers would approach you in the hallways or Buffett and strike up a conversation.  In Cozumel, the Disney Wonder was parked next to us.  The Buffet Manager was previously employed on the ship and entered into a conversation about the workings of Disney ships.. transiting through the Panama Canal ..while also mentioning that the Seaside would have an excellent Pork Loin in the carving area for dinner.  He was really funny.

However, I can’t imagine lunch in the buffet with 1500 additional people Onboard ...it would be unworkable.

The cabin steward has been the best we’ve had period, and that’s inclusive of suites with Butlers on other lines.

    • Thanks 1
  7. Just off Seaside and I can honestly report that the room stewards are changing out beddings to include duvets and disinfecting rooms at the hospital level.  Pillows were removed and sent to laundry. Even the covering used on the bed to protect the bed from luggage....everything.  Two members of my party are medical personnel and they were impressed with the cleaning protocol.  Example:  The Seaside uses glass toothbrush holders and when we picked up luggage from our room this morning after breakfast The holders were filled with a disinfectant solution and soaking.

We had a fabulous time....ship had less than 4000 passengers onboard out of a capacity of 5500.

Thank you for sharing! I hope you are staying calm and enjoying the day even though you aren't debarking yet 🙂

My group is good. We’ve all been to Jamaica many of times. I didn’t have any tours booked with local folks.

  9. At the CruiseCritic reception a ship officer did disclose that 300 personnel from targeted areas such as Italy, Iran, China were denied boarding. MSC stated that they covered their airline fare and refunded cruise fare.
