  1. i don’t know why he would want to post the ship and sail date that he’s vacationing. There will almost certainly be some folks or “super fans” who worship him who will now run off and book that same cruise just because they know he will be there. And undoubtedly they will seek him out to go chat and talk about Carnival with him. Some vacation that would be.
  2. We are getting ready for our Mardi Gras cruise this upcoming Saturday and everything is set up in our VeriFLY app. All we are waiting on is our negative Covid test results come in and then I will get those uploaded. I got an email today from Carnival regarding preboarding health assessment and the email says to “reaffirm responses to the vaccine survey previously submitted.” What does this reaffirmation mean? All of the tasks have a green check so far except for the Covid test results which I’m waiting on.
  3. What I want to know is if the $25 table attracts mostly folks who know how to truly play Blackjack with proper strategy or if it’s like the $6 table where you get a mix of smart players and also folks who just want to have fun (and will hit on everything regardless of whether the “strategy” would say to stay). I’ve had some incredible playing partners on a few cruises at the $6 tables and we did quite well and then we’ve have some experiences on the $6 tables where we were hemorrhaging chips because our fellow playing partners were hitting on things they shouldn’t and taking dealer bust cards.
  4. yep! I had a Covid cancelled cruise that was paid on my Carnival Mastercard which I only used for cruises. Didn’t use the Carnival card for 2 years and Barclays closed it on me (fine, no big deal. Carnivals reward points system is s*** compared to most other credit card reward systems). Called Carnival about the refund, which they said had to be credited to the canceled card, they had to wait for it to kick back, then I had to wait for them to mail a paper check.
  5. I’d just pay the deposit and then pay the final payment is due. If you are intent on paying it every month, stick the monthly payment in a savings account each month and pay it off at final payment date. I don’t play the gift card game. Paying $450 for $500 worth of gift cards just to save $50 is not worth the hassle, plus like others have said if the cruise is cancelled you are married to those gift cards.
  6. Same. VIFP profile shows correct address, confirmation email for our July MG cruise shows prior home address.
  7. Because all the senior citizens are in bed by 9:00.
  8. I’ve seen comments about why not move Freedom guests to Mardi Gras. We assume that MG is sailing full, so they can’t move folks from Freedom to MG. You can’t sail a cruise with more passengers than available life boat spaces. Can you imagine how bad that would look if they moved everyone from Freedom to MG, a catastrophic abandon ship event happen on MG, and then you can’t get everyone off because there isn’t enough room in the lifeboats?
  9. Same for us. We were done after our 2019 sailing and had 3 Disney cruises booked that got axed due to Covid. Only reason we are sailing on Mardi Gras in July is because I got a ridiculous casino offer that would have been idiotic to pass up. So we will go. But unless the ship just absolutely blows me away that i want to try Celebration or the casino gives me another stupid casino offer that I’d be an idiot to not take advantage of, we plan on being done with Carnival. It’s just gotten boring.
  10. Because that means how ever many thousand less cruisers for how ever many cruises spending money. And let’s not forget that CCL seems to care more about their blue and red card holders than the gold and up who won’t either know or care about losing a PGP they can’t go to or eating in Cucina which they’ve never experienced.
  11. We are using VeriFLY but I still plan on bringing the originals. Just put them in a ziploc baggie and throw them in your carryon.
  12. I’ll be honest, we only booked our July Mardi Gras cruise because we got a a Havana interior with $200 obc and prepaid grats for less than $1,300. We had planned on being done with Carnival because it’s just gotten boring for us as a cruise line and we wanted to try other lines. However, I’m excited to check out Mardi Gras.
  13. It’s an app. Go to the App Store on your phone, find VeriFLY, and create a profile and go from there. It tells you step by step what to do.
  14. When I originally filled in the VeriFLY information for our Mardi Gras cruise, my wife and I did not have our booster shots. Since I originally filled out VeriFLY, we have received our booster shots. How do I update VeriFLY to indicate that we are now boosted? I don’t see where I can update the vaccination status because it says it is already complete. Is my only option to delete the trip and redo everything? Or is there another way around this? Does anyone know?
  15. My wife and I are vaccinated but not boosted. I set up our Verifly account and everything is squared away. Our vaccine cards were approved. My wife wants to do the PCR antigen test versus doing a rapid test and she wants to do it on the Wednesday before we sail. Her reasoning for the PCR versus the rapid is she feels more confident that the PCR won't throw false positives. Since we are not boosted (but are vaccinated), are we still able to do our PCR tests 3 days before versus 2? I can't find any information other than that Carnival says fully vaccinated means having the 2 shots but only recommends the booster (and doesn't require it - except for certain specific sailings). Does anyone have the answer to this or know what the answer to this is? I'm having a hard time finding the answer to this.
  16. A lot of people are in the camp of, "once you go balcony, you never go back." My in laws are in this camp. Having now sailed in all categories, we stick with interiors and ocean views unless the balcony rate is just really, really close to OV rooms and then we might consider stepping up. The couple of balconies we have had, we didn't use all that much other than for reading and morning coffee.
  17. This. We book under casino rates and they are really strict on changes.
  18. I wonder if this has changed any since December. I don't know if Carnival has increased capacity or not lately, but I assume they are getting closer to pre-pandemic levels.
  19. We are sailing on Mardi Gras July 9 and i assume that Cucina and some of the other specialty restaurants will still be free at that time. In the past, I have not minded paying to dine in these locations since it keeps the crowds down since it's a pay to eat restaurant. Can anyone who has sailed Mardi Gras recently tell me if these restaurants being free has impacted getting a table in these restaurants? We love Cucina and make it a point to dine there and hope we can get a table at least 1 night.
  20. We are cruising on Mardi Gras on July 9 on a casino offer. 2 people, inside Havana stateroom with gratuities prepaid is less than $1,300. And they are giving us $200 on board credit. We were planning to be done with Carnival and start trying other lines, but that price is so good and we would be stupid to pass it up.
