  1. Thanks so much for the explanation. I think we’ll find something else to do when we visit in April. I’m just not sure what. Maybe bike rentals…I’ll wait to hear how the rest of your day went, first. lol I haven’t ridden a bike since I was a kid and I’m scared of riding on roads.
  2. Can someone explain Hilo Hattie’s to me? I looked online and it just looks like it sells their own clothing line and a few other non essential items. It doesn’t look like a Walmart or Costco.
  3. It’s currently at 35% for my upcoming cruise. I guess I see it differently, if a basic restaurant hamburger is 20.00 and I have to add 35%, that makes it 27.00. I’m not ordering a hamburger- it’s too expensive for my taste. I’ll wait until I get back to Canada. So, that’s all I mean. It doesn’t really help me to do it in USD. I try to just do the exchange before we leave and forget about it…but my mind automatically still tells me when something is too expensive, or I can pay less at home. I’m sure people that come from the US do the same, as in deduct 35% from that same hamburger…it makes it more tasty at 13.00. My travel budget is in CAD, so I have to keep things in check,
  4. You are right, it isn’t relevant to you. I still recalculate everything into my cost. I’m just saying, that’s about 20 cups of coffee or pop every day, just to break even for me. I think I’ll pass.
  5. Ooops.. 47+16= 63, not 53 Now…add on the exchange to CAD for me and it really becomes ridiculous. Just that non alcohol package becomes about 950.00 per person for 15 days. That’s a lot of coffee and sugary drinks.
  6. They are charging about 700 CAD for that hotel for the night we need it. I’ll just pass on that…
  7. Something for everyone, that’s for sure,. I still like to be closer to the window seats…but not in those squished together- tables for two. For now, I still want space around us. The angle on this isn’t great, I took it from table height on my side. He had to squeeze in between the tables to sit down… this was at the disembarkation breakfast..and yes, I see he has a hat on.
  8. The first night can be a bit of mess and a wait, even with a reservation. It is a chance to find a decent table and politely ask for that same table for each night, if it matters to you. We were sat in what the servers called, the dance floor..but we did not love it. I also didn’t care for the shiny translucent dividers they used there, they distorted everything. It was also the centre of the room, and you could barely see the ocean. Next time, I’ll push for a better table, although our service was pretty good.
  9. I was waiting for someone to mention that. However, from what I read, she never did test positive for Covid, but was awfully sick for a long time. Her husband tested positive, though. I know she’ll correct me if I’m wrong, which I’m happy to be.
  10. Nah…lots of people eat at 5 and would love to be done by 6:30. Having said that, we had a 5:40 reservation, and it was great. We were able to make the 7:30 shows, with time to spare.
  11. What about those people who don’t want to carry a phone around with them? My phone works great on the ships, I just like to leave it in my cabin, so I’m not tempted to be on it all the time reading social media sites, like this one.😉
  12. It isn’t that hard to get the same same table. After our first meal, and waiting long past our reservation time, we went to the hostess desk upon leaving and asked. We said we liked the wait staff and the area. That was that. For the next 13 nights, we went straight to our table. Sometimes, they asked us to tap our medallion, but most nights they did not.
  13. Wow, you listed those things and my mind travelled back to the good old days quickly. There have been many changes, that’s for sure. Some I miss, some I don’t.
  14. Can I ask why you just didn’t go to the payment screen on your personalizer, and check it out yourself? Were you aware that even if you used a PVP, you can look and see what the final cost to upgrade would be? I try not to bog mine down with the little things that I can figure out myself.
  15. That’s interesting, the bread was the only thing we didn’t love. So…everyone is different with what foods they enjoy. Overall, our meal was fantastic and I would not have thought to complain, just because it wasn’t our thing. It just left me more room for dessert. lol.
  16. Point 4. - You do know Jooey has all your drink information right in front of him, right? He doesn’t need to remember anything. If you look at your own medallion app, you can see the history of all the drinks you ordered, as can he. They are also paid and usually tipped for their ability to make us happy. Even before you order, everyone who comes close to them shows up on their system with a picture. Like, if you walk or stop by a bar…you will see your face and many others nearby on their screens. I guess that is progress…I call it tracking. A cruise ship is no different than on land. They need to generate revenue. I do wonder if their sales are tracked, as well.
  17. I feel it’s a little like purchasing a restaurant gift card, looking at the restaurant menu online, going a month later and expecting the prices to be the same. I hope they do adjust it for everyone, but I wouldn’t count on it, since everyone had the opportunity to upgrade. Your cruise will still be great. We don’t bother purchasing our fare with the packages, we just pay as we go, take advantage of the discount on wifi and pay the gratuities… another increase, but one I’m happy to pay. I just wish Princess would announce that they also have increased the crew pay to go along with the one we are giving them.. but that’s for another post.
  18. And.. that means that the authorized person only sees what they purchase,. I can see everything they purchase, as it’s really just my account. I like it that way. I sometimes might use my OBC at the casino…, or but him a gift, which he doesn’t need to know😉
  19. They want to give them FCC that needs to be used very soon, instead of a cash back refund. They tried to do the same thing to me, which I wouldn’t be able to use as I only had so much vacation time. I was persistent… and I got a cash refund.
  20. I noticed that, too. I’ll just keep watching for price drops instead.
  21. You aren’t paying for a specific drink, just drinks below 12.00. Hopefully there is no price increase to individual drinks.. just a better selection at the 15.00 mark.
  22. Everyone got notice and could prepay the difference for the upgrade by today. I’m sure it’s not a problem for Princess to determine which package you paid for. I wouldn’t expect to get drinks up to 15.00.
  23. Yes, they were sent through electronically. Along with the ArriveCAN information that was completed.
