If you just wanted to whine, fine.  But, as stated TAP does not fly that routing.  So, hard to take your complaint seriously.

FYI, an example of TAP itinerary:

If you buy your spa pass in advance, your room key will be encoded for Spa access and you can walk right in using your room key (no need to get a pass at the desk).

Wow, is this something new or only Bliss-specific? We had such a pass pre-purchased on Epic in Spring 2019 but unfortunately had to get the pass every time. And the spa staff was not very attentive to the pass-holders, to say the least

  3. Have been reading these boards for many years. My observation is that people's activity is not spread uniformly in time. Rather it often peaks close to boarding and immediately after the debarkation. This certainly results in a comprehension bias. If you are excited to be on board soon, you do not want to get any bad news. It is much more comfortable to blame the messenger.

We have been fortunate to have only ever sailed in the Haven.   My question for those who travel with friends/family -

Can you really enjoy your Haven experience if you have friends who are not staying in the Haven?  DH and I booked a 16 day Panama Canal cruise 2 years ago (HA cabin) for our upcoming 30th anniversary in February.  Now our friends want to join, but don't want to spend the $ for the Haven.  (I understand.  For this cruise it would be in the $30k range, as pricing has gone up considerably since we booked!).   Our cabin is an Aft large balcony penthouse, so they can come use our balcony all the time.  Are we being rude for thinking that we'll use the Haven amenities during some sea days, while our friends are not?

Thoughts from those who have traveled with friends (Or not!).

    Travel well!

I think you are allowed to book more than 1 stateroom. If so, you can inquire with NCL how much more will cost you adding two (presumably) of your friends to your cabin. Then present this figure to your friends. If they accept, they will have their own cabin + full access to Haven. If not, you will be spared from any moral obligations.

  5. Hmm, was not CDC grilled last Tuesday by the Senate?

"Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky was forced to defend her agency's guidance and even its integrity on Tuesday as Senate Republicans grilled her over CDC messaging on masks and other restrictions, arguing it's frustrating and unreasonable as more Americans get vaccinated.

I don't notice much difference in the public spaces, and I'm actually disappointed in what they did with the 2br. It looks like the bar area we had when we were on her last time is now the closet for the main bedroom. The main bedroom lost the big double closet and makeup sitting area. Just looks more squished now I guess. Here's some messy photos from when we sailed her in Feb 2020.

Did they borrow Kelly Hoppen from Celebrity? If so, get prepared to uncomfortable furniture and lack of storage

  7. An interesting situation: I had a refundable-deposit booking on Apex in September and decided to accept the recent itinerary change (from 12-nights to 7-nights). However, given the lack of the promised update on my booking (no new invoice and no new flights as of early May, although these were promised by April), I asked my TA to cancel my reservation. He did, but advised that the refund would take 60+ days. But, my booking still appears as fully functional in "my Celebrity" and my stateroom has NOT been released. The TA says it would remain so until the Revenue department has a chance to proceed with my refund, which would take the same 60+days.

I just called Celebrity but they won't tell me the booking status, suggesting to call my TA for all information.

Did anybody have the same problem with cancellation?

    Thanks!

  8. Very thorough, interesting and informative - thank you very much!

Could you please clarify the room service issue. On our last cruise, we often used the room service during the daytime (not for breakfast). To this end, I would call their number and order from the room service menu that was available, even though the order would be delivered by our butler.

How do you order room service directly from Haven restaurant?

    Thanks,

  9. @Dr65: I had exactly the same problem, had an agent from Flight by Celebrity investigate as he himself observed exactly the same discrepancy, was on hold for ~15 min while the agent was talking to his supervisor. The end result - is actually no result. It looks like when quoting, their system is looking for the cheapest fare given relatively non-stringent inputs, say a roundtrip during August-September 2021 but does not look for specifically your days of travel. When you enter your reservation ID it does.

In all good days when the choice air worked for all three lines (RCCL, Azamara and X), the "quote" there was always exactly the same as a real booking. OTOH, the quote that I got now from that site using a similar RCCL sailing, was $500 pp more expensive than the actual booking on the Flights by Celebrity😠

  10. You can still use the choiceair with any RCCL itinerary over a similar time frame to get flight quotes for your X cruise, just manually override the pre populated start and end airports. Then you can select a particular flight and call flights by celebrity to actually purchase it. From my past experience, the RCCL-based flights were "almost" the same as X's on choiceair. "Almost" means there was $15 or $25 systematic difference.

  11. I think cruise companies must come up with innovative ideas that also should be supported by general public, otherwise it is hard to believe the situation will remedy itself by the summer. What those innovative ideas could be? Have them test 100% for the virus at embarkation? Require everyone on board to wear a face mask? Who knows
