What do you think about having renters in your beach house? People keep wanting to rent our mountain house, (especially during the winter for skiing) and we keep declining. We would have to remove more personal things from our bedroom, and isn't there a lot of wear and tear? And I suppose you would have to have contracts and everything?

That seems odd. What are you supposed to do at 4:30 AM in PC? I think 7AM sounds more reasonable. I seriously doubt if shoreside or CBP will be available that early.

Sort of. When we were on Majesty out of NOLA in February 2020. (right before shutdown) there was a storm in the Gulf and our return was delayed until 1PM. RC provided $200 p/p in change fees. We booked with SWA, so there were no change fees.... BUT. The last-minute airfare was $800 over from our original flights. It was nice to get some of it back, but still expensive.

That's really sad. Fricking covid. Most people don't even know they have underlying medical conditions. I am very sorry for the loss of your lovely wife. What an awful thing to have happen after a fun vacation.

Sure! It is in the new passport/vaccine card/global entry card folders that we all purchased on Amazon. 😊 Why not? Better to have with you than not. That is kind of a silly question. It is paper, not heavy or inconvenient to bring with you. 🙄

That's good news! I am glad that @reallyitsmema was able to help with the policy. It will work out. It is sad that you are away from home, and not feeling well. But Sydney has a lot of wonderful things to do! When you feel better. ☺️ You can get a 3-day or longer Opal pass and go all over on the trains, ferries and buses.

That is awful! I am so sorry that your dream vacation has been interrupted. I hope you feel better soon. And Covid refunds are supposed to be through the end of the year, so I hope they make it right for you.

I know most people don't let the cat up on the table. But mom let him, so we do. He is very persistent. Bobby doesn't actually eat people food, except for bacon. But he always wants to see what we are having. Happy Thanksgiving, from our family to yours. And we still have a lot of leftover Halloween candy. ☺️

I'm so sorry that has happened on such a special cruise for you. And they certainly should honor their own policies.

Only a few people said they didn't want to serve. I think many of us would if summoned. It is just inconvenient if it interferes with a fully paid upcoming vacation. A deferral or excused would be better. And we do have experience with a Federal Jury Duty summons. I thought my county jury duty was very interesting. An unhomed gentleman was pleasuring himself in a public laundromat while people were doing their laundry. The police were called. When he was arrested, he was also found to be in possession of a green leafy substance resembling marijuana and paraphernalia. It was before legality, and I thought the testimony was quite fascinating.

Same thing here! 3 pending charges for the DBP on my credit card account. (Except mine are $857 each!) I thought they would drop off by now, as well. RC may have to do something on their end before they will, and I am guessing this happened to A LOT of people. 🤔Because of this fiasco, I am kind of guessing, that we will see sale prices again.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We just have a simple dinner. We decided a long time ago that we are not turkey fans. We have a roast chicken, Betty Crocker garlic mashed potatoes, canned asparagus, rolls, and two slices of frozen chocolate cream pie. It works for us, without a lot of preparation for 2 people. ☺️

Just send a short letter addressed to "Clerk of the Court" along with a copy of your trip confirmation and you will be excused or deferred. Most of the time they don't bother with deferrals. DH was called for Federal Jury Duty before a cruise, and he was just excused and has never been called again.

Bathing Suits? 😃LOL I'm sure yours is great. We didn't actually wear suits, so fading was not an issue. And like I said, most people liked them here for a long time, until they didn't use them anymore. 😊 And I'm sure they were mostly the kind that required pool chemicals.

I should have done that last time. I didn't know you could do that. I didn't like it. Last time we were there I just had the plank, garlic bread and mashed potatoes. ☺️

We had a 2- (maybe 3 cozy person) Soft Tub for quite a few years. You still have to do all the chemical things. It was a gift from my MIL. And we really enjoyed it for a while. I had to give it up when I came down with Graves Disease (Hyperthyroidism) and couldn't handle the heat. Most of the people here that used to have hot tubs, have since gotten rid of them. Including us. We sold the Soft Tub and the 6-person fancy hot tub at the other house broken up and taken to the dump. (It was big) So, I would suggest looking for a used one or thinking about a less expensive Soft Tub. https://softub.com/

Exactly. We went back to the 3-night dining package. It is difficult with all of the reservations and the UDP. We were supposed to go back to Hooked on a recent sailing, and DH said he didn't want to do it. We just cancelled the reservation, and we went to the Windjammer that evening. It is kind of a nuisance to be that scheduled.
