Thank you. Yes, I knew it was a family and religious holiday, but didn’t know if anything near port would display that.
Where will you be on the 1st of November? I would check that city's website and see what it says. It might give you a listing of some churches you could research for times of services.

Going on 5night cruise to Cabo and Ensenada over Halloween and Day of the Dead. (I know they are different holidays, but they both happen on the cruise.)
Just wondering if anyone has experience with this on NCL or any other lines. I’m sure some people dress in costume on the ship, but do lots of people? Are there any activities built around this holiday?
And Day of the Dead, likewise, do people dress up? Do the ports look different on these days?
Thanks
Yes, some people bring Halloween costumes. Day of the Dead is much more of a religious holiday. I am assuming that if you are in port of the 1st of November, there should be lots of churches having services. There might even be a parade. I have never seen anything on a ship for the 1st of November. Halloween Yes

I love these dinners. Makes no difference to me what the rank of the Officer hosting the dinner. In 30 plus dinners, I have yet to be disappointed. My very favorite Dinner was hosted by the Ship's Communication's Officer (Radio Officer). That night he was hosted his 1st Officer Dinner. Very kind young man.

Goodness I feel dumb, I have always been a little envious about how many cruises "Dorothy" and "Bill" were on and that they were so popular they had special rooms for all their friends. Ugh I hope the clandestine naming was done at the request of the participants because otherwise that feels very 1950s.

There is NO space for a coffee maker in a Studio Cabin and I do not remember seeing a bathrobe being provided or slippers.

Hello
My wife and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary on the Prima August 2025, is there any way to contact NCL to set up something special?
How did you book your cruise? Travel agent, PCC, NCL website? Go back and add your anniversary information to your booking.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like this might be skipping a passenger TA sailing and just start from Miami. This is what others have been doing recently too.
Currently The Aqua is scheduled to sail with passengers late March 2025 from Southampton to Boston. Assuming She will have a non-revenue cruise to Miami for Her Dedication.

Does anyone have an email address for Marc or April onboard Prima? Trying to contact them prior to when we board. Thanks!
Given how old this information is, it may not be very current given all the changes taking place.

Closed toe shoes for ladies? Had not planned on bringing any and have reservations for the French Restaurant.
Think it5 is a men only rule. If you are going to do a Behind The Scenes tour, then everyone needs to wear closed toed shoes- tennies work.

OK... regarding Christmas and New Year's... will we feel out of place if we choose NOT to dress up? Or will there be enough of a mix of casual vs fancy to go either way? I will be on a cruise for both this year. In the Caribbean. Wasn't planning to bring any fancy clothes for a beach/cruise holiday
NO not all all. You will find that sometimes one member of a couple will dress up and other not. I have seen ladies all dressed up and their partners in blue jeans and t-shirts. I have a long comfortable dress that is at least 20 years old that I wear. Comfortable is the word.

This season of the year, you can sometimes see them on Alaskan cruises. So far, this year the Northern Lights have been visible all the way South to the Seattle, Washington area over the last couple of weeks.

There should be themed dance party nights- but no special clothing is required.
Norwegian does not require semi or formal dress. The only time you will see people dress up is at Christmas and New Year's. Resort casual is how most people dress. Long pants and close toed shoes are required for the French restaurant and maybe one of the main dining rooms.
Enjoy your cruise

My standard answer regardless of the ship if this: book a cabin that is sandwiched between a cabin deck above and below you. You do not want to be above or below any public space. Research what works best for you,( those in your party like needed a handicapped cabin), what is in your price range, book through a reputable (hopefully local) travel agent. I rarely bid for an upgrade: your version of an upgrade and NCL'S version could be very different. Not worth the hassle and the unknown.
Above all else, have a wonderful cruise.

Use a TA.
Costs nothing and they would have caught OPs issues.
Exactly!!! I have a travel agent in my hometown. I would not go a cruise without his help.

I am a widow and travel solo all the time. I recommend two things: (1) Become active in the Roll Call for your cruise and (2) Read your Freestyle Daily each day for Solo M&G locations (they some change depending on the number of people expected to attend.
Question: were you a member of the military at some point in your life? Very often cruises are having gathering for Veterans and their spouses. Again check your Freestyle Daily.
Enjoy your cruise and The Pearl. She is a wonderful ship.

Sailing the Encore the end of September. If the Northern Lights are visible. Where can you see them on the ship?
In the past, there have been announcements in the Freestyle Daily about the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights. The last time I saw the Lights from a ship, it was midnight or later. Atmospheric conditions have to be just right- and as close to totally darkness as possible.

There should be, if not ask your Room Steward.

My advice to anyone booking a cruise, do your research carefully, choose the exact cabin that finds yours needs and within your price range. I also advice to choose a cabin that is sandwiched between decks that have cabins above and below the cabin you want. Book that cabin and stay with it. What NCL considers an upgrade may not be what you would consider an upgrade. By bidding or just calling to get an upgrade, you upgrade cabin could be above or below a public space like the theater, buffet or other public space.

Doubt if I would book a flight before 2 P.M. Too many things could go wrong. I doubt if you can disembark before 7:00 or 7:30 A.M. For an international flight, how many hours do you need be at the airport for check-in prior to your flight ( 2hr or 3 hrs)??

OK Thank you. I didn't realize so much went into it.
The local Port Master has a say also. It might also depend on how ships are scheduled to dock or anchor and their scheduled arrival and departure times.
Possible Longshoremen Strike
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
From all the reports I am reading, according to spokespeople for the Longshoremen's there will be NO affect for the cruise ships.
