  1. That's what I was wondering. A smartphone changing the time automatically could potentially cause this. Not everyone realises they need to be mindful of this.
  2. You won't want to cancel and rebook if you bought them at a cheaper rate but you can definitely change them on board and there's no extra charge at that point. We did precisely this on Symphony last month. Note that you may have to go to the actual restaurant to change them; the guys in the kiosk on Symphony struggled for 20 minutes to try and change ours and eventually called a manager over. He explained that because they were cruise planner bookings only the host at the restaurant in question could change them.
  3. Oooh, that sounds amazing. A few years from now, when I retire, I'm hoping to do that sort of trip too. I already have several mapped out in my mind. 😂🤞
  4. I've seen some suggestions that she might be headed to Oz. If that's right, they might release a repo along with the Australia deployment week of 8 April.
  5. Oh yes, you're right. I hadn't noticed that. I guess they're reassessing itineraries in light of the Suez situation?
  6. I would be inclined to agree. An extra $100 seems a lot for what you actually get. Unless, you're thinking of buying a boarding day lunch in a specialty dining venue anyway, in which case that would bring the extra amount down.
  7. Also, how old are your littles? If you're buying the key you have to get it for everyone in your stateroom who's 6 or over so that might bump the cost up even more for you.
  8. Ask to be waitlisted for the early dining time. If it doesn't come through for you before you sail, head to the MDR as soon as you board and speak to whoever is manning the desk.
  9. Not usually. It's one or the other. There is 15 minute grace period for assigned dining. Beyond that you could go and ask at the MTD desk but go with the mindset that the answer will probably be no. You won't miss out on dinner entirely because you can always go to windjammer buffet instead.
  10. Given that you're new to cruising I would recommend you opt for a ship-sponsored excursion in Santorini. This is firstly because Santorini is a tender port which means you can't just walk off the ship onto the dock; the ship will be at anchor and you will have to get on a little boat (tender) to go ashore. Guests on ship-sponsored excursions will be taken by staff to the tender at the required time. Guests doing independent excursions have to try and calculate what time this process will actually get them ashore so they don't get there too late and miss their excursion. In Santorini this is further complicated by the fact that, once you get ashore, you have to get a cable car up to the top of the cliff. I think you could find it all very confusing and stressful and a ship-sponsored excursion in this particular port would make for a much more enjoyable experience.
  11. There are rumours both are heading to Australia but I don't know if there's any truth to them.
  12. I'm only seeing Ovation up to October 2025, nothing beyond that. That's on the US site, though. Are you seeing it for further ahead on the Oz site?
  13. Something I've wondered since first reading about group rates: if there is a price drop can you get it? Or are you locked into the already reduced group rate?
  14. Still missing the same five ships: Anthem, Ovation, Radiance, Serenade and Voyager, with Australia currently scheduled for release the week of 18th April and Singapore the week of 13th May. Does five ships for those two markets seem like a lot? I don't usually keep tabs on those. Also, there are no EB Panama Canal cruises posted yet for Autumn of 2025. I would be expecting at least one, so that would need to be Radiance or Serenade.
  15. Maybe to do with Easter dates? 20th of April in 2025 and 5th of April in 2026.
  16. Two years ago in May we sailed on Odyssey out of Civitavecchia ("Rome"). The ship was still in Florida when check-in opened. It opened Rome time so 6 hours ahead of EST. I don't know if that still holds true.
  17. The MSC World Europa is actually flagged in Malta, which is an EU country.
  18. Can't tell you about Allure but on my recent Symphony cruise minimum bids from a CP balcony were: OV Balcony - $50 pp OV with Large Balcony - $230 pp Ultra Spacious OV with Large Balcony - $325 pp JS - $420 pp
  19. I have done both website and GS in the past. To do it on the website I went into edit check in and just worked my way through the screens until I got to the payment screen. I didn’t have to reinput all of the details, just clicked on save or next at the bottom of the page. I've heard that you can do it at check in at the port. I think you get sent to a desk rather than be checked in by someone with a tablet but I haven't done that myself so can't say for sure. If it's correct I'd say that's a better and faster option than standing in a potentially long line at GS.
  20. You may need to link the other booking on the app. Use the "Don't see your cruise" at the bottom of the main page in the app. You'll need to have the booking number to do this.
  21. You don't need a picture of the passports but if you have one it's a good way of having all the information to hand, rather than your daughter writing out all the details for you. Yes, you can check everyone in if you have all the necessary details. Alternatively, you can just grab the times and let your daughter complete her own and the kids' details. One thing you do need in order to check in nowadays is a credit card. In the past you could choose the cash option but this is no longer available. If you like and are checking everyone in you can use your cc for everyone initially - there's just a box to tick to do that - and it can be changed later.
  22. If you use the app then yes, you can just grab the check in times and all the other information can be input later at your leisure either on the app or on a PC. Note that you need to select a check in time for each person; the system does not automatically default all the other people travelling with you to the same time you pick for yourself. Later, you will need passport numbers, full names, dates of birth and addresses, if I remember correctly. Someone will correct me if I've got it wrong. If you use a PC then you need to put all the information in first before it lets you pick your times. I prefer to use the app just to grab the times and then do the rest on my PC because I prefer having a big screen and a proper keyboard, but that's just me. Many others are perfectly happy doing the whole thing on the app.
  23. Still five ships unaccounted for beyond September/October/November 2025: Anthem, Ovation, Radiance, Serenade and Voyager.
  24. Yes I think so. They were due to be released this week but new releases have generally been overnight Tuesday to Wednesday so looks like they've done it a day early this time. Hope you get what you want. ☺️🤞
