  1. So, the key things I've noticed, post 2020 are: 1) They have new MDR menus. We were completely fine with what was on our 4 night portion of our b2b on Navigator. We did UDP for the 7 night part. 2) Windjammer food has been meh. Going forward, we will try to avoid. 3) There seems to be less excursions offered. There are still plenty to choose from! But, sadly on my next cruise with my mom, they cancelled parasailing (which she was looking forward to).
  2. Personally, I am happy about this change! And, for those worried that there aren't other quiet places for the 16/17 year olds to hang with the parents... I've been on several ships from mid-size to mega, and there are always a few peaceful places, with nice views, to hang out at. One example-> on Odyssey, Solarium was PACKED!! So, DH and I wandered around, and found a nice, peaceful spot on one of the other decks with an ocean view and maybe 2 other people (napping).
  3. A big THANK YOU to the woman who posted a few years ago, about having problems boarding the ship, because her boyfriend used her nickname instead of legal name!!! This morning I hopped onto the app, to check menus for my cruise with mom (her first one- yay!!!). I have a few upcoming ones booked, so I had to back out, and select the right one. I saw the names… me, Carol. And I’m like oh no!! I ran to check the copy of her passport she sent me and yep… Carolyn! So glad that I used a TA for this one, since both the airline and cruise reservations need to be updated 🙂
  4. Hi all! DH and I are Loyal to Royal, and LOVE new ships (and more recently, suites). I tend to book as far out as possible 🙂 In looking for our 2026 cruise, I realized- Icon Suites are outside of our price comfort zone. We have friends who LOVE Celebrity, and we want to give it a try (maybe on the Apex?). Anyways, I was just wondering, when do you think I can expect the 2026 bookings to open up on their website? Thanks so much!
  5. We did Playmakers for lunch on Odyssey on embarkation day, and really enjoyed it 🙂
  6. No, I first saw the rumor on a popular social media site. Then, after googling more, I saw a blog post that talked about it. I won't mention either of them by name here, because I think my post might be taken down?
  7. I did more googling, and saw a source, but I suspect the post I made with the link will not be approved. I saw found a blog post about it just now. Since I'm not sure I can post the name of the blog, here is what I googled "RCI merging loyalty programs", and it was the second article down.
  8. Yay! Google for the win. Did a different search, and found this: Royal Caribbean and Celebrity considering merging loyalty programs in the future | Royal Caribbean Blog. Hopefully this link is allowed here.
  9. For us, since we are very celebrity curious, and kind of close to diamond +, this could be nice (unless they change the points to get to each tier).
  10. a post on a social media site. They said that they saw it on a Celebrity site. But, since my googling was unsuccessful, I was skeptical.
  11. We did a B2B on navigator after the change. Did UDP for the 7 night part, and MDR for the 4 nighter. We were ok with the new menu. Food was good. I had grown tired of the old menu, and we had been doing UDP for several of our other trips because of this. On my next cruise with my mom (her first one), we're going to do the MDR every night.
  12. I have seen it sell out. If we know we want it, we purchase it as soon as it pops up in the planner, and then cancel/rebook if the price goes down.
  13. Today I heard the rumor that RCI is thinking of merging the RC and Celebrity programs. Has anyone else heard this? If so, is there an article on it out there somewhere about it? (Google failed me in my search). I really hope it happens, but also hope they don’t change up the program too much 🙂. Regardless of what they do, there is a good chance our 2026 cruise will be on Celebrity Apex- we love new and big (and now- suites), and Icon is out of our price range.
  14. I completely agree, but word of warning, don’t post that on the other social media site ran by Mr. Z… I said that, and got ripped apart by people. Apparently I’m an elitist slob who likes to be treated better than others 😉
  15. Yay! Can’t wait to see it when I cruise with my mom in December (her first cruise :))
  16. Nope- my friend is spending 2 nights in port Canaveral before her cruise, without a car, and wants to go there for a day.
  17. Are there any tours that take off from the Port Canaveral area to Kennedy Space Center, and take you back?
  18. FYI- half and half was half and half on my last cruise (B2B on navigator in Feb, 2023)
  19. So… I have an irrational fear of sharks (so much so that I have a hard time with deep water in MINNESOTA lakes!!!! Lol), but I felt ok snorkeling there 🙂. Trust me, these are nice friendly sharks (or at least, that’s what I tell myself ;))
  20. My pro tip is… I call around 10am or 2pm central, and have had great experiences 🙂
