We do total cruise cost + airfare + luggage + hotel + transportation. And we always get medical, and try to book soon enough for “cancel for any reason”.

Yes- we always do playmakers on embarkation , if we have UDP, and they have it 🙂

I have heard princess is the best. We almost did one, but long story short, we did RCI and really liked it.

Lol- we had a beach bed several years ago, and we made friends with the couples around us. We all went into the water, and a couple came up and started using the beach beds and taking selfies. One of our new friends started yelling at them that they were reserved, and they left.

Did a girls cruise a few years ago, and we had the matts. Tipped the beach guy $20 to make sure no one took them when we went to lunch. He was amazing, so we also tipped him at the end.

So, it sounds like this will open up the end of this year, or beginning of next. Can any of you book it yet? Our cruise is Feb 2024, and I still don’t see it.

Just curious if meet and mingles are back? I’m going with my mom on her first cruise in December, and I think she’d enjoy.

DH and I are not cheap with vacations… however, the prices of Icon kinda scare me! Way outside our budget for what it is. We are ok for now- want to try every ship departing from us, and we have many more to go… but prices on these new ones is alarming!

What a great deal! OTW has always been out of our budget, but if it was just $300 more than what we were already paying… I’d take it in a heartbeat! They look awesome 🙂

For me, that sale is the same price as it was last week, for my 2 upcoming sailings.

Since we now get the free diamond drinks, we would let them know if we wanted to use a free drink, or the discount, when we were ordering.

Here is my tip that doesn't answer any of your questions 🙂 Once you determine the ship, take a look at the cruise route. Pick a room facing land for the majority of the cruise... The views are amazing! We did a one way northbound, and had a balcony facing the land, and had no regrets. Also, don't forget to pack binoculars!

Wow! So different than when we went in 2008!!! Regular nights were business casual and up, formal nights were definitely formal! Glad to know it's different now, because we prefer to no longer book the DH suitcoat...

My next cruise is not in a suite, and I will miss the twice a day cleaning. No, I am not a slob… but I really did enjoy coming into a made up bed in the afternoon, and a turned down bed after dinner. Next cruise is with my mom though, so I’m sure she’ll ensure we’ll make up our beds 😉

Just curious, for those of you have done an 8+ night cruise since they started the new menu, do they have additional theme nights? I’m all booked if through 2025, so this is purely a just “curiosity” question 🙂

I prefer to give them a giant teddy bear, wearing a t-shirt with my state on it… lol, just kidding 🙂 One thing I want to be better about- remembering to ask my room steward if I can pick them anything while in port… and yes, of course I’ll still tip 🙂.

Get off early to get a premo spot with a view (I know, easier said than done for some, but since I’m a super early riser it’s easy for me to say ;)). Also, I’ve seen a lot of people buying these on Amazon for floating… lol, I see that my link didn’t work, so I deleted it. Just go into amazon, and search for mesh inflatable pool float. It’s mesh in the middle, and the ends are inflatable. I have one, but don’t bring it with. It seems to work well if your under 200 lbs… not sure about heavier people.

Oh… so here’s a cool thing… they often also do sales onboard, for the specialty restaurants, especially if they are low capacity 🙂. Sometimes they’ll have a table set up in windjammer or elsewhere, selling them. I also feel like we’ve been approached while in the MDR.

We’ve found to be the “magical” time of the year, with few families, to be early December 🙂. However, we are MN people, and don’t find anything to be “too cold ;)). Sadly, DH prefers Feb, so we rarely do December…
