  1. The division of Hurtigruten into a Norwegian coastal route and expedition line actually started already in 2021. In 2023 Hurtigruten Expedition was renamed HX. However this acquisition of Hurtigruten Group marks the end of the process to separate Hurtigruten from HX (Hurtigruten Expeditions). Now two completely separate web sites: Hurtigruten and HX Link to press release https://www.hurtigruten.com/group/investors/articles/hurtigruten-group-sells-hurtigruten-and-hx-hurtigruten-expeditions/
  2. here will usually be taxi's available at the quay. Alternatively you can order (and pay) in the app. Here are a few examples of most common taxi's in Copenhagen. TAXA 4x35 Dantaxi Viggo Just remember that tips are always included in fare price. ETA 12:00 noon is ship arrival time from the Port of Copenhagen website - it is usually possible to leave the ship about 30 minutes after arrival.
  3. Yes, there are HoHo shuttle buses that connect Oceankaj with Langelinie. The HoHo route itself does not pass Oceankaj terminals but passes Langelinie Quay
  4. Assume June 7, 2025. Oceankaj terminal 1 - ETA at 12 noon. I am not aware of any cruise lines that have free shuttle buses. The HoHo bus route does not pass Oceankaj, but they do provide a shuttle to the route - they do not operate in the evening. Taxi is always an option but there is also public transport - Metro M4 to Orientkaj and from there bus 164 or 25 to the cruise terminals (about 40 minutes from the city center by metro/bus - 25 minutes by taxi).
  5. I would only choose one of the two. Ålesund and Haugesund are included in both cruises. Both cruises include a deep fjord to Olden and Flåm respectively. Both good port calls - Olden with Loen Skylift and Briksdal glacier - Flåm has the railway and Stegastein viewpoint. The approach to Flåm is more beautiful than to Olden. Bergen and Stavanger are both nice coastal cities. Bergen has far more attractions than Stavanger. ‘cruise by only’ simply means that you sail through the fjords in and out of Olden. As mentioned, ‘cruise by only’ to Flåm is more interesting. Cruise to Haugesund, Alesund, Flam, Bergen is the best.
  6. My understanding is that eTA is an entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to Canada by air. No need for an eTA when arriving by cruise ships.
  7. That question is far too broad for a good answer. There are more than 100 cruises calling both at Copenhagen and Stockholm in the summer of 2026 - More details are needed about ship size, time and any wishes for the cruise line. Options include Princess, Celebrity, HAL, Oceania, Regent, Siversea and more. Itineraries change every year - what was available in the past may not apply in 2026.
  8. The Panorama Bus Geiranger to Flydalsjuvet and Eagle Bend will likely operate in May. Nibbevegen til Dalsnibba viewpoint will open during May - depending on snow. The Loen Skylift operates all year round. Stegastein operates all year round. Yes, you can travel by boat during winter.
  9. Another vote for option one: Copenhagen, Stockholm, Tallinn, Helsinki, and Brussels are excellent ports. just few notes: Skagen, and Visby are very, very small but nice ports - do some planning in advance. Berlin is either port of Warnemünde or Rostock - it’s a 3 hours drive from the port to Berlin.
  10. My situation is very similar to OP's. I have been very happy with Uniworld. There is a range of different excursions including cycling. Slow walkers are grouped together in a group with fewer and slower activities. There is also a nice selection of tables for two. My experience has been that most people choose tables for six - there was always a table for two, but be early in the restaurant for dinner. Cocktails before dinner and drinks after are included and of course drinks with meals where various good wines from the areas we passed through were served. A few other options are Moselle, Rhine and Burgundy & Provence.
  11. For Norways Best it varies between 4 and 5 months - you have to check regularly as the time approaches. The train sells out if there are several ships or a large ship. Tickets are distributed between ships, Vy and Norways Best. Even if Norways Best has been sold out, tickets may become available at a later date. Vy opens for sale 90 days in advance. Norways Best has the best price.
  12. Barcelona is the easiest. It is relatively easy to take a shuttle bus from London Heathrow to Southampton. Most people in Europe speak English - it is also my only 'travel language' and I manage just fine everywhere.
  13. Thank you for sharing this very interesting article.
  14. I don't have experience with Apex, but this year with Anthem of The Seas we arrived at 7am and the gangway opened at 7:30am. I don't see how it would be any different for Apex. The terminal is very close to town.
  15. The Danube River is one of Europe’s most popular and scenic rivers, flowing through ten countries and several iconic cities, including Vienna, Budapest, and Bratislava. It’s a great mix of cultural experiences, historic sites, and beautiful landscapes. Another great option is the Rhine River, which travels through Switzerland, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. Known for its castles, vineyards, and picturesque towns.
  16. Just to avoid any misunderstandings about prices compared to Uber (Uber is currently not available in Denmark). Viggo is a taxi company and their prices are equivalent to other taxi companies. For example, Dantaxi and Taxa 4x35 have a similar App
  17. Best option will certainly be flying out of London. Then more options than BA. Do not know which airport in US?
  18. Possible, but the number of airlines serving Southampton is limited and none of these fly from the USA to Barcelona. - also depending on which city in the USA. But try to see what is available e.g. by ‘Multi City’ booking on the British Airways site.
  19. The Icelandic and most Norwegian ports of call are small but scenic towns. If Regent has some good excursions I think it could be a very interesting cruise. Celebrity 7 day cruise is more ‘Main stream’. The time doesn’t make much difference for these itineraries. I am sure Regent will provide the best ‘Nature experience’.
  20. Sounds like a bit of a trip. Lisbon to Amsterdam is Schengen - Schengen exit check/passport control is in Amsterdam - US immigration and customs is in Atlanta. You have to take your own luggage through the gate in Atlanta even though luggage is checked in all the way to Orlando,
  21. I wouldn't rank Stavanger and Pulpit Rock that high at first. The Regent Seven Seas cruise looks very interesting, but you should do some research on Kristiansund, Nordfjordeid, Eidfjord and Rosendal in particular. They are all quite small towns with limited excursion options.
  22. My mistanke - should be more clear - wines also served at lunch - you could get a glass of wine for free at any time during the in the bar. This was the ‘included excursions’ there were additional MASTERPIECE COLLECTION ( for a fee) Saint-Èmilion Grand Cru tasting. Hope it answered your questions.
  23. I have just been on a Uniworld ‘Brilliant Bordeaux’ wine cruise. You can find a review and a description of the trip with a brief description of the individual days. Further questions are welcome. https://www.cruisecritic.co.uk/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=721555
  24. Harstad is a very small town and not a port with many cruise visits. Here is some inspiration. https://en.visitharstad.com https://www.visitnorway.com/listings/harstad-tourist-office/210518/ https://harstadhavn.no/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Cruise-Excursions-Harstad-2024_2.pdf https://www.northup.no/nor-eng/northup-engelsk/ https://www.exploreharstad.no/en/startsiden/sommeraktiviteter/ - you can try contacting the tourist office or tour providers post@visitharstad.no post@northup.no booking@exploreharstad.no
  25. It depends on what you want to see and do while you are in Copenhagen.
