Not enforced for any of the cruises we've been on including 1st ever 8yrs ago - plenty of short sleeve Polos every sailing during formal nights. Granted it has been in the Caribbean.
So which are MUTS VS free movies on cabin TV - surely can't play all those movies on a 7day cruise on the big screen. Top Gun on the big screen would be so much better compared to the small cabin tv.
None taken. I'd try and avoid such sailings too if I weren't part of the group - sailing before us Polka group. For Me that's a NO THANKS!!! A few years ago on MSC we had our group + a slightly smaller group + non-group passengers. Many of which were TICKED Off. Didn't blame them at all - should be told of such groups being onboard especially if they could/probably will change the activities schedule. One reason I love this site - find out about such things.
Personally didn't expect this question to get so many replies. Thought it would be 2-3 just saying which venue was biggest or as some said call the TA. Personally find posting questions here to be faster and sometimes more accurate then asking TA or even the Cruise customer service people. Customer service told me things I know are false even before stepping foot on our first princess cruise.
That's exactly how it has worked in the past with this group although on other lines - Some go to the buffet others specialty dining but majority are in one dining room with some non- group passengers mixed in (1st seating- when set dining was more standard) with private show in theatre after. Other venues attempted to be closed off as group pays extra for certain entertainment.
Polka group is before us - they get off and our Irish Group gets on 29th. Asked here because TA handling things hadn't called us back all we were told was "it's being worked on".
Would start getting them together more - BEFORE getting on the ship for multiple days in a row. IF they both live nearby "Cruise SHOPPING" or planning the port activities together.
Had female stewards on MSC and Celebrity years ago - they were also the only ones to call us Mr. Ms. or Mrs. the entire cruise. Was kind of odd they told us to call them by their first names but would NOT use ours, yet the male stewards on those sailings all used our first names when they saw us in the halls.
Miss the most - Printed schedule - although the ability to still get them on request is good.
Ice/fruit carvings were fun to look at once in a while as decoration, midnight buffet was good when we were busy and missed regular dinner seating. The rest really never cared either way.
Booked with a group that has given us each 1 specialty dining $29 cover charge - Are ALL specialty dining options onboard $29 cover charge or limited to certain places?
Email from Princess and Live chat was no help - our cruise in January out of Ft Lauderdale - "due to operational considerations we'll be departing at 3:30pm instead of 4pm" - What the heck are "operational considerations"??? Never had a ship leave earlier only later.
No first hand experience (post-covid) but everything I've read on many different lines since the re-start says - bring it with you as you'll only get it at the medical center these days. Personally always brought things with me (pre-covid) as it's unknown what you might get onboard or in a random port not to mention the cost.
