  1.

How do I do that? I am technologically inept. My kids roll their eyes at me. DH and I have only had "real phones" for about 2 months.

If you need assistance please call your cellular company and they will assist further.

Go to setting, then go to phone, turn the WIFI calling ON.

  2.

Great. This will help. Thank you. I do not have an Iphone, but a Galaxy through Sprint.

I don't need it to keep tract of family on the cruise. I can usually find DH watching the sea go by on a lounger on the pool deck. I need it to keep in contact with home. My daughter has just been scheduled for a c-section while we are on the cruise. (we thought we would be back before the birth). We want to be able to keep in contact with her. Facebook messaging it is. I will have a phone and an kindle, so we should be able to stay connected. I will be able to call her when in port in Alaska.

On your Carrier network, turn the wifi calling on,there won't be any charge if you use the ship wifi to call.

  3. Because 207 people out of a measly 261 don't think she's doing a good job? I think those 207 will be easy to replace with newer cruisers that don't care. People naturally get upset when things are taken away. Bound to happen. People put the blame for cut backs right on the CEO.

If not the CEO,I guess we should blame the room attendants:rolleyes:

  4. Back to the original question posed about what these ships "might" look like.

What would make me happy? A well designed cabin. No more "above the bed" storage. Just give me a functional closet, some shelves, and adequate drawer space.

    Seriously, not an unreasonable request!

    Ok,OK,Ok I got it.

How about "under the bed storage"?

What they need to do is just to raise the bed.

  5. We were on the Solstice last week and attended Captains Kafetzis talk about the construction of the Solstice.

Somebody in the audience asked about the new Edge class and he responded with only ship delivery time. No mention of any new info from him even when pushed.

I did talk to the lady in Future Cruises as to why no new info and she said it was her thought that X was waiting for "Virgin Cruises" info to be released first. Seems like X has big concerns about the new Virgin ships 110,000 ton 2860 passenger vessel. These Virgin ships are almost identical in size and passenger volume as the EDGE class.

It's going to interesting to say the least.

Oh,is the Virgin Ship from Virgin Airline Company?

  6. Thanks ! Glad you liked the Greek restuarant idea. I suggested it, along with a few other ideas... on this post back in February : http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=49177739&postcount=66 . Personally, I feel that a Greek restaurant would have been a fantastic idea, especially with Celebrity's Greek history, which I also mentioned in the above post :)

I'm fine with the Sushi concept, as we love Sushi, and I look forward to trying it on our next cruise. With that said, I can totally understand that it's not for everyone, and I suspect the A la Carte pricing will turn many potential customers off.

If it's not busy ? Don't worry. Either they will find a way to make it busy (i.e. discounts) or, another dining concept will be sure to follow.

I am not much fond of Sushi but I do like to try the Noodles Soap.

I can have that everyday if the price is right.

  7. Love Bitro 5. But I'm excited to try out something different. Hopefully I can still find the crepes somewhere else on the ship.

There is crepes served at the suites restaurant everyday.:roll eyes:

You can't blame Celebrity change the restaurant menu to others as 95 % of them not supporting the present menu.

They have to try new things to cater for other customers needs.

Who knows they wanted to change to attract more Asian customers.

I can see from my recent cruise there were quiet a number of Asian cruisers onboard.(about 10%)

I have been on Celebrity more than 30 cruises, never step foot on Bistro on 5.

Hope this time I will after they change to Japanese restaurant.

  8. I know that Celebrity has been struggling for some time with how to make this stateroom class be worth the money. I would like to see some actual value items that would be enjoyed by all passengers booking in Concierge Class. The larger stateroom on M class has no equivalent on S class. The bubbly in the stateroom goes to all Concierge Class customers and they need more things of this nature -- things that set Concierge Class apart.

But look at what they have now added -- Concierge services which you might want to take advantage of, but might never need. An opportunity to listen to a sales pitch. An invitation to lunch, if you happen to get on the ship before lunchtime is over and if everyone in your party has booked Concierge Class.

And in fact hasn't there been a Concierge on board for many years? Or will this now be an actual dedicated Concierge who will work only with Concierge Class passengers, unavailable to the rest of the passengers?

This, in my opinion, is not enough to set Concierge Class apart from the general staterooms.

Finally, I agree that Celebrity needs to clarify the Aqua Class/Concierge Class status, once and for all. Does Aqua Class include all the perks of Concierge Class? Or doesn't it?

Will it works to give an extral point on Captain Club ?

6 points instead of 5 per day.

  9. We've cruised before when everything has been included, such as our specialty dining and Blu, gratuities, beverage package, etc and had absolutely no charges on our folio.[/quote

We had a $9 charge to our card last month when we did the 15 day transatlantic on the Silhouette. That's the first time we didn't get money back in our last eight cruises. We have a B2B scheduled in October and fully expect to bring home $300. We'll start spending it when we find some value in the product they offer on the ship.

I bet you must be having the non refundable OBC.

Next time you go on board,go to the guest relation desk ask & clarify your OBC.

Btw,last month transatlantic was 13 nights.

    I was there doing B2B2B.:D

    It's just an advise,I am not rude.LOL

  10. I don't understand how TMobile can charge you anything if your phone is in Airplane Mode.

Very simple answer,If you don't want to get charge just turn on AIRPLANE MODE.Once you turn it on that mean you won't have any CARRIER to provide you any voice and data.

A lot of people with iPhone don't know that if you use WIFI you can use iMessage to connect to who ever have iMessage from the ship to whereever the person will be.

Every time I cruise the first thing I do is turn on the AIRPLANE MODE so I don't need to worry about the extral charges from my Carrier or from the ship.

  11. My wife and I did the Global Entry interview and paid the fee and were approved. But I don't recall getting a card of any kind. What is this card people are talking about?

This is from the Customs & Border Protection website:

At airports, program members proceed to Global Entry kiosks, present their machine-readable passport or U.S. permanent resident card, place their fingerprints on the scanner for fingerprint verification and complete a customs declaration. The kiosk issues the traveler a transaction receipt and directs the traveler to baggage claim and the exit.

The only time we have used it was on a flight to JFK from London and this was the process we followed.

I am not aware that this works anywhere other than entering the US. But I'm all for any edge I can get when trying to move through an airport.

Its a GE ID card has your picture on it.

They normally mail it to you after your approval.

  12. Since Luminae closes so early for breakfast, my plan is to eat right after a workout in the gym. I don't think I will have time to change. My question is, can I wear yoga pants, t-shirt and sneakers into Luminae for breakfast (and feel comfortable)? I would never normally do this, but seeing there are ridiculously strict hours for breakfast this is what I think I need to do.

Also, can someone refresh me on the Luminae hours for breakfast on Reflection?

Does it close at 9am on port days and 9:30am on sea days?

Does anyone know if the butler can deliver Luminae pastries for breakfast in the suite (room service)?

    Thanks in advance!

  13. Negative!!

Haven't cruised for one and a half year and found out there are a lot of cutbacks especially entertainments from my recent cruise.

I don't see the cutback necessary as oil prices drop from $147.00 to the present $35.00 per barrel.

The prices for 2017-2018 is incredible high.

  14. We recently sailed on the Equinox and are thinking about getting an aft balcony when we choose an upcoming cruise. Never did one before and think it would be fun.

However, when we were onboard we looked down onto these aft balconies and noticed the lack of privacy due to people peering down from above except perhaps for the lower deck(s). Am I correct in thinking lower decks are more private? Any other concerns being on an aft/lower deck on S ship?

Also concerned about the soot I had read about awhile ago.

Would appreciate input on best ship's aft cabins for us considering the above.

    Thanks!

If you book C1 pick the 4th from right and never pick the 1st from RHS for larger balcony.

    That's true,

Pick the 3rd down from Ocean view should be fine.

On the right side of the Photobucket page, where the "Share" links are - copy the one in the "direct" box.

Then here, click the yellow mountain looking icon, and paste the address into the pop-up box. It should work then.

If you are using photo bucket, chose the picture that you like to attach and then click on IMG link, then on the the reply page On CC just click on paste.and the link will be attached.

you can then click on preview to see if you do it right.

  17. My hubby and I are both in our 30s work full time in average salary jobs in the UK. We don't have kids. We work very hard and save an awful lot to get on a ship every year. We always fly economy and take an inside cabin. This year we are doing back to back in the southern Caribbean and I can honestly say it is the most we have ever spent on a holiday....beans on toast for dinner from now until November!
