It's acceptable/desired in the Asian market?

Some Asian countries like the music LOUD.  If RC will have this ship for USA market they will need to re-think about this LOUD LOUD stuffs.

Princess cruise came up with the Movie Under the Stars first the people thought it was a wonderful idea after while it was not so because the same old stuffs are showing over and over.

    Day 6

I interrupt this review for a quick question… for people that have been to UK or live in UK… would you do an excursion to The city of Bath (you can’t go into the thermal pools) or would you go see Stonehenge??  There is no option to do both so I am soliciting feedback / opinions!  I want to see both so it’s hard to pick one!

The pre-cruise stay in London with a private tour company we got to see Windsor Castle (2 weeks before Harry and Megan's wedding), Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral (houses Magna Carta) and Bath all in 1 day (very long day but it can be done).

Enjoying your cruise and pictures.  Hope to follow you on another cruise.

Just go easy on starches. Anything white is starchy. And rcl has a no sugar added dessert nightly in Mdr. I'm not diagnosed but watch it as I can. The no sugar added desserts were really good. The berry cobbler was my favorite.

I am a Type 2 too and love cruising.  When on a cruise I would eat a lot of protein stuffs (meat, eggs), vegetables and very few starchy stuff and would walk some to burn some of the food off.  As an Asian the hardest thing for me to give up is rice but over the years I am learning to eat very little of that stuffs.

The sugar free lemon cookies on the buffet are very good give them a try.

    Have a wonderful cruise.

Actually if you travel a lot a MasterCard without foreign transaction fee is an absolute must that will save you a small fortune over the years. But not easy to get at least in some countries.

We had been cruised outside USA with other lines (NCL, Princess) not a single time got charged with exchange rate service for the onboard expenses and for the ship sailing from USA while the deposit did not have that charge just try to figure out. It was not much to break the bank just different with MSC.

We are newbie with MSC and will give them another try later on this year and after that just do not know.

I think the only way to avoid that is to use a card with no foreign transaction fee, or do a cash account.  You might check with your card issuer and see if they offer one with no foreign transaction fees.  Card companies/banks offer many different kinds of cards.  EM

Thank you.  Will keep that in mind for a future cruise with MSC.

I would agree with the security being intense.  I was pretty sure I was about to be strip searched at Ocean Cay lol.  Overall I found security to be very similar to going through TSA at an airport, other cruises have had the metal detector settings a little less than airports.  I boarded this morning and saw some of the guys from my December cruise so I suspect nothing has changed.

I am too second to your opinion.  On late October 2021 Divina I had a knee replacement and it set the security up every time returned to the ship from shore.  The security guy probably an Italian was not too friendly (sterned face) and manual searched me from hat off to sun glass etc until he came across the knee.  I knew it is for the security purposes but did not give me a good feeling either.

Be sure to register your credit card as soon as you get onboard.  There are machines to link your room key card to your credit card.  Most cruise lines do this at check in, but MSC is different.  Also book all of your show times as soon as you get onboard.  Happy sailing!

After a cruise on Divina in Oct 2021 when the bill showed up (tips and misc. charges) there was an exchange rate charge even though we cruised from USA and it sailed from USA  because the bill processed from some oversea bank.  It had never happened before because we had cruised outside the USA many times the only the exchange rate charged when we purchase something off the ship but on actual on the ship charge.

Is there a way to avoid that?.  We understood there is card that does not charge the exchange service when use outside USA but we do not want the obtain another card just use it on MSC.

Thanks for replies. I'm undoubtedly worried way too mucn about this. Marco is indicating that there was no need to set up any sort of account.

..meaning you did it before taking the tests?  Setting up the test appointment was easy enough, so I anticipated the same with having to do a 'my chart'. The way I read the instructions, there is no need to wait for results. It can be done anytime. What creates some level of anxiety is reports of some people having gotten results but then unable to set up mychart.

...similar to what I asked Ashland...did you do this before or after testing?

Yes, we did before the test because at that we can print (hard copy) our results and take along with us if for some reason the wi-fi is off at the pier we still have those to show at the pier.

  9. Thank you and very good feed back.

We will be on her late this year and it will be our second time with MSC and first on Meraviglia.  Our first was on Divina was not bad but the food was subpar from other line and the wait staffs made up for the food.  Will give MSC another try and hope it would be better and if not MSC will not be one of the choices on future cruise.

Thanks TNCindy, now I feel guilty. That’s a very good point I hadn’t even thought about that but all things considered that’s probably what happened, because I was told at least five times yesterday that there were no rooms available anywhere, Snd no further changes could be made because it was all said and done according to them. Then miraculously they found three Large Balcony Cabins to move us into. I surely hope I did not unintentionally cause others to be displaced. I would rather believe Royal Caribbean did the right thing, and all is good with the world, well I can’t believe that exactly all things considered, but I would like to!

RCCI did it WRONG on your case.  If they oversold the sailing they should contact you with offer of $$ to downgrade you but they used bogus reasons to take away your cabins.  I do not know for sure but RCCI must did some thing with $$ offer  to get those cabins for you.

On Princess may years back they contacted us 3 times to give up our cabin with $$ offer OBC  and the offer was coming up until Friday before Saturday sailing we could have a free cruise just pick the date/sailing and $$ OBC.  We did not take the offer.

Glad it all worked out for you.  Enjoy your cruise and go back here to let us know about your experience on the NEWEST ship of RCCI.

Their passengers counts is still very LOW.  Our sailing on Divina middle of October 2021 had 950+ and it was very quiet.

Per your report it seems to go down hill here.  Just hope it would improve soon because we will be on Meraviglia later this year.

    Have a great time.

I am on Harmony now. I believe our passenger count is somewhere around 3400. We had about 2900 the week prior.  Obviously, Royal Caribbean wants to increase passenger count each cruise.  I’ll see if I can learn about next week.

Most of the entertainment has returned. The solarium café has remained closed, and Johnny Rockets is closed this week for breakfast (it was open last week)

Could you tell what is the name of the ice show and water show?.  We were on her in late December the ice show was Playlist and water show was  Big Daddy.  We had 3900 passengers on that sailing with all places were opened and enjoyed that cruise so much and thinking about another one on Harmony before she will move to Miami.

    Thank you
