  1. You need to call the number you initially booked from the CAESAR's casino offer. It is a different travel agent than Carnival's casino dept. You can also let the 'cruise mate' be a no-show and go alone, or sometimes pick someone else to go with a name change fee.
  2. I am totally on your side. I would be DEVASTATED, were I to get such a prime moveup, accepted according to terms and have it SNATCHED out of my reach at the last minute. AND to be offered no real compensation. $100 obc? Ridiculous. My expectation would be to be made 'whole'. As in, another PH on a different date. Or the OBC in the amount I paid for the moveup with a refund as well. Totally a BIG screwup. And my guess is the VIP is probably the CEO, who seems to sail a lot more than the old one. JMO. In any event, someone more important than you or the rules of moveup. So so sorry for you.
  3. You had 21 followers and almost 2000 views... But, I get it. I read all the reviews here, but I don't waste my vacation time doing anything but FULLY enjoying it!
  4. The one change I notice is : Always available dessert. CHEESECAKE is no longer on it daily. My Plan B dessert. I had to try new things.
  5. Cross my fingers and try to post a pic. Hopefully, right side up?
  6. I loved it! Put a towel across the pillow and lounged perfectly. 5'2".... one problem: it needed a shim under one corner to keep from wobbling. A door stopper would have been perfect. This was on the Ascent room 12113.
  7. Sister chose ocean view and was only able to bid up to Aqua.
  8. We just got back from Jan7 Ascent and did this wine tasting. It did not seem to be sold in advance, only on the ship. It was called the premier wine and cheese pairing I think. $99pp plus grat. We purchased from the sommelier in La Voyage on our first nights dinner. He said the last wine was going to be a Caymus reserve cab, it wasn't. It turned out to be an Opus red blend. TOTALLY WORTH the cost. There was also a Vueve Clicquot rose start. Nice cheeses, strawberry, grape, dried fig pairings.
  9. So... you are not THE Elvis? (lol)
  10. Yes, BUT... you have to be prepared if you do NOT get both bookings upgraded to deal with the consequences of adjusting one cabins dining schedule to the other. As in, dine in the MDR, specialty, or alone sometimes. The appeal in this case is, you still get a bigger room. The other cabin does NOT get your amenities and access.
  11. Thanks for another wonderful review. So sorry about the rotten kids, but also thankful for your taking one for the team. I had to ask myself what I would/could do... hindsight and all. First instinct gets everyone thrown off the ship, and that is never good. If it ever happens to me... I decided I'd probably just drop whatever food/drink I was holding, fall to the floor (there was pushing involved), and proceed to have a 4 year old windmill temper tantrum with high volume screaming until security showed up. Then they could find that elusive camera footage that they deny having for legal purposes. Words are one thing... physical contact is another. Juvey jail in Cincinnati OH is a lot different than Tulsa OK First 48! IYKYK Big hug.
  12. I order from Macy's frequently... um.. I know you will have a Plan B. They ship usps and take FOREVER. But, at least it's not airmail! Really enjoyed your review and I always thought MY flights were the worst ever. I stand duly corrected. Here's a virtual ship on a stick, or plane on a watch.
  13. I had already sent my email to executive office email... Thanks to FLYnSail for the reminder to go to the source and email Blue Chip Club. They are probably the ones saying that it isn't negatively affecting anyone. So, as someone who plays a lot and brings friends who play a lot... maybe a complaint will at least get into the right place. The casino.
  14. As someone whose last casino 'bill' was in excess of $21k before a royal flush paid it down half, I guess DH & I 'ranked' a phone call. My take is that the calls are just to let people vent and they are going to allow vaping. Although I WAS assured it is currently ONLY a test on 2 ships and the testing period should end by the time of my cruise in September. I have asthma. I loathe real cigs and think vapers are marginally better, however... I don't like ANY one breathing anything into my face at a poker table. A non-stop talker with bad breath at my elbow counts. The constant repeated exhalation, as if the vape is the practice for a future ventilator. The BIG puff of trailing tendrils of 'vape' enveloping the entire table, even with a polite vaper who tries to control where it goes. So... I guess if I continue to play cards and such a person decides to play by the new rules, I have to adjust. Which means going back to the old necklace fan to push air up away from my face, and keeping a mini handheld to redirect the clouds back towards the offender. Or go to Effy. But... this also means those suite cabins on Carnival without airfare required to get to port are starting to look similar, if not MORE appealing. Because I hear that the larger Carnival ships are dedicating non-smoking space. When the BCC free Aqua classes dry up, we will probably cut back from 3-4 Celebrity cruises per year to one or none. As far as the experience not affecting anyone NOW, it is simply because the smokers/vapers don't know they can indulge. YET.
  15. Sent my email. DH & I both are Blue Chip Club members and typically get free Aqua class or veranda rooms. Carnival sends us free drinks everywhere & suite offers, without having to fly. I can't stand the smoking stench, and I suffer from asthma. BUT... I don't care if someone vapes SOMEWHERE ELSE. If I'm sitting a card table and there is a vaper... the super enveloping cloud can't be escaped mid-deal! And I can SEE the entrails enveloping everyone. The vaper exhales more often than normal breathing, typically open mouthed...COVID mouthed? There is more than second hand smoke to be aware of these days. I mean, it isn't as if we aren't elbow to elbow packed in with one or two more seats at the table than a standard Vegas casino.
  16. I don't like hauling wine to the ship and would much prefer to pay $13 difference or $25 outright for a glass of Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon. OR even $120 a bottle! BUT, the supply change issues meant that I had to bring my own if I wanted it. So... if they are losing so much money that they need to go back to one bottle, then they need to SUPPLY what the customers want. The Celebrity brand cab is dreadful. Blech. I was told on our last cruise on the Apex in February that Celebrity would no longer carry this wine due to it's demand. By two different sommeliers.
  17. I love the detail you provide in your reviews...AND more importantly, that you actually finish them even if it takes a while. Thanks for not leaving your readers 'hanging'!
  18. The lobster & filet menu was worth the price. The other menus are overpriced, IMO. But... we almost always go again. Why? Well...it's a new menu and we haven't done this one. And then the big selling point is: Can't get into Murano or Eden on night 5 and Luminae and Blue have dreadfully weak menus that day. The food has always been good, just more like $30 instead of $55 good.
  19. Le Meridien is a new Marriott near the airport. You have to Lyft/Uber/taxi to any interesting food options and you can't see the ships from it...But, it was a 15 min ride to the port the next day. It is really a good value, super clean, nice and the lobby and rooms reminded me of the much more expensive Marriott Harbor Beach Resort, which is still our first choice...but typically twice to three times the price.
  20. Well, your mother could be a no-show. You'd be charged her port taxes & fees. Only works if you don't need to add 2 pax. The 3rd pax rate is typically WAY too much. In excess of $1k in my experience.
  21. My sister purchased this on the Millennium in Nov 22. She was the first to use on this ship. The purchase was made online of a gift certificate for $1000. She was CHARGED $750. After the negotiations for the price of the jewelry, she told them she would be using the certificate (it's not combinable with Effy online gift certificates, only the one purchased through celebrity shops could be used). This meant a trip downstairs to guest services where the Effy manager and the ships security did stuff behind the scenes to figure out how to ring up the charge. She (I was with) was escorted back to the Effy store with mgr & security in tow to complete the transaction. Security wanted to see/know how it was done since no one had done one before. Took about an hour and a half to complete the $5k gross purchase. I would think by now the Effy managers & ship staff may have done a couple?
  22. Book yourself and one kid in the room you prefer...then your wife and other child (ages?) in a nearby inside stateroom. And look at a discount website for the rate, not necessarily Celebrity's direct website and definitely not BCC. I looked and could find an inside stateroom for around $2k for that ship/date with no perks. Of course, this works better if your kids are old enough to do some self-supervision. When on the ship, you go to guest services and get extra keys for each room. Sleep arrangements as you please.
  23. Re: Fine Cut n/a on night 3... perhaps a specialty dinner night? Such as Chef's Dinner or Veuve Clicquot.
