  1. We have only done 1 Journeys cruise, and loved it, and have 2 more booked. Honestly, we only do longer cruises, 14+ days. For us, that is the only way to go. I find most of the Pro's and Con's on this thread to be spot on. There is one thing I can add to the Pro's.....we were able to sample some food in the MDR that we never had before, goat, frog legs, alligator, and snails. I don't know if the MDR still offers this, but we find out in Oct, 2025!
  2. I am curious about Florida's Brightline train, and wanted to know if it has had any issues with breakdowns, being on time, etc.. For those in the know, enlighten me. Thanks!
  3. I'm jealous.....we love the longer cruises. 21 days is a real treat, enjoy!
  4. Thanks for the review.......I just discovered it, I love your writing style, and you 've got me laughing big time.
  5. Again, I appreciate your reply. When is your next cruise....looking forward to your review!
  6. Jamman....thanks for the reply. We want to sail out of LA. Any insight?
  7. I am looking at cruising to Hawaii in the fall of 2025. When do they usually drop.....2 yrs out, a yr 1/2? Thanks
  8. My wife and I always use carry on, no matter how long the cruise. We were on the Dream last Oct. and we left our luggage in front of our cabin. I had the same question before we sailed. After we dropped our luggage off, we found out that Carnival will keep it in a safe spot for you, you don't have to lug it around. All you have to do is ASK!
  9. Do you know if 12960 is the same depth and width, or close to it?
  10. We are looking at a cruise on the Joy, and was curious if anyone can give insight into which deck is best for aft facing cabins, with depth and width in mind. Are the upper decks better than the lower decks? Thanks!
  11. I am looking at a cruise on the Celebration, and I have a question about deck 15 aft facing cabins. There is a blocked out section dead center between cabins 15490, and 15507. Can anyone tell me what is there, and if it creates a noise issue? Thanks!
  12. Yes, we are looking forward to the sun and warmth as well.....it looks like it will be a great cruise! Truly port intensive.
  13. I originally wanted Oldfart, but someone already had dibbs on it.
  14. If it weren't for my wife, I would be dead in the water (no pun intended). Fortunately, she has done it many times.
  15. Thanks Bird.......they were ready this morning!
  16. The last cruise we took on NCL was in 2019, and the process to check in then was simple, did everything on my desktop, printing edocs no issue. We have a cruise coming up late Apr. on the Sun. I tried to check in on my desktop (3/31), but found out NCL requires a photo for each of us. Before I go any further, I am not tech savy. So, I had to check in on my phone (100% complete). My question is this, how long does it take before I can print my edocs? Can I use the check in info from my phone instead of printing my edocs? My wife says the info will show up at my gmail address on my desktop (I don't use google as a browser on my desktop). Thanks ahead of time for any insight.
  17. Unlike Carnival, NCL will have a MDR open for lunch on embarkation day, avoid the buffet at all costs. Have a great cruise!
  18. Sid, I enjoyed your weeks adventures, and insight into all things Prima. You'll have to sail her again to discover the areas you missed onboard, and give another fantastic review. Just remember..."Y'all come back now"
  19. We haven't sailed on Carnival for roughly 10 yrs. We will be sailing out of Galveston in Oct. on the Dream. My first question is this (I know the buffet, and Guy's etc. will be open), but, is there an MDR that is open for lunch on embarkation day? Second question....we always sail with carry on luggage, is there a place that the ship has designated to store it until the cabins are ready? Thanks for your input!
  20. We had a "mini suite" on the Gem, sister ship to the Jewel. We enjoyed the extra space, the curtain, and really enjoyed the covered balcony. I didn't care for the bathtub though. There was always a concern about the movement of chairs above us. We were dead center below the pool deck, but we had no issues at all.
  21. Ports do get removed/changed. I wouldn't say it's common, but it does happen, it has happened to us a couple of times. Chances are there are issues with the port in question. I am surprised you didn't get an email telling you of the changes.
  22. We haven't cruised out of Galveston before, but will be in Oct. of this yr. We have booked Carnivals bus from IAH to the terminal. My questions is this....do we find the rep for the bus at baggage claim, or somewhere else? Thanks for your input.
  23. We haven't cruised since 2019, and we have one coming up in Apr 2023 out of POM. Can anyone tell me if cabs in Mia still use a flat rate, and if so, has the fare increased dramatically? Last time we used one the fare was $25. I would imagine Uber/Lyft would be better, but just curious. Thanks
  24. Every cruise that my wife and I have done with NCL (14) we have used carry on. At the terminal, you will have your luggage scanned as you enter the building. Once on board, ask a staff member where you can store your luggage (they should give you a receipt) and you are free until your cabin is ready. If your cabin is ready when you board, drop it off at your cabin. When you disembark, you will be able to be one of the many that get "first shot" off the ship. All customs has ever done is ask for the form you received and filled out the previous day (you will get it from your steward). That it! Easy pezzy.
  25. We have used a cab, both from Seatac and from the cruise terminal several times. Have never had an issue, and cabs are plentiful. There was very little wait time to get one as well.
