I was wondering about the possibility that the glass is for wind issues. This is a whole newly design ship, so I think it’s impossible to compare this with the ships that were already familiar with. The other issue that I had, which led me to then move to a reserve, mini suite and forgo the cabana is it doesn’t look as though there will be any kind of shade on the cabana deck. I can’t sit out in the sun without an umbrella so the cabana deck would be no use to me. After having recently returned from Celebrity equinox of the southern Caribbean where it was 95° , it was impossible to sit in the sun at the pool without some kind of a cover.

We were originally booked on the sun deck and then our planner moved us to all the way forward so we wouldn't be on the sun deck and our balcony on the ocean. However, we were the last cabin, might as well be on the bridge, LOL and seeing the size of the ship, we were very unhappy with the distance from all activities and restaurants. As a result of all the uncertainties involving cabana minisuites, etc we just moved to a reserve mini suite on deck 15 mid ship. Location was more important than that cabin. Sounds like you are right where we had been

Exactly! Would be more useful on EU cruises where it might be cooler. Very curious. I returned to my “safe place “ reserve mini suite since this is so unknown. Not a risk taker with my vacation

It may be old news to you but it wasn’t to me. Like I said, I missed the post you referred to and I bet others did also. We are all trying to make the best choices for ourselves. It is like buying a house from a floor plan. I have changed my booking four times as I have learned more. There are others here trying as I am.

No, he said if the doors are left open just like if you leave the balcony doors open. So much for openness like a cabana. I think cabana is a misnomer. This is not a cabana but maybe a lounge like they called in the video

The wake view terrace is for all passengers. I believe that was discussed earlier here and verified by Princess

Yes they are. We finally moved to reserve mini suite because once seeing the cabana, we felt it wasn;t what we thought it would be. We expected it to be more open and airy like an actual cabana. For us, it is a room that we would not make a lot of use If not in cabin, we would prefer being on the balcony, not another inside room/. Also the locations are still not good. Far forward or close to piazza.

Neither would I. I had a reserve cabana mini suite on the sun deck and moved it.

For anyone curious about the reserve cabana mini suite this video from Iona shows a very similar set up we moved to a reserve mini suite on deck 15 for all the reasons they dislike the cabin.

Where on the app do you see reserve collection dining? We are in a reserve collection mini suite yet I see nothing on the app except that “ there are no reservations , check back closer to sailing “

I totally had the same expectation for the cabana so that is why we switched to reserved mini suite in a better location

We were booked in a reserve cabana mini suite on deck 9 but not on the sun deck. We were way far forward and concerned about how far we were from activities. After seeing that picture , we decided that location was more important than the cabana. To us, it just looked like another room behind the balcony. Could not see spending much time there if any since there is a sitting area in the mini suite. We would sit on the balcony, close to the ocean most often So we moved to a reserve mini suite on deck 15 It can be very confusing

After seeing the cabana, we just moved to a reserve mini suite. We thought the cabana would be a bit more open and not a room we would make a lot of use. Additionally we were on deck 9 forward, practically at the bridge. Seeing the size of the ship and the locations of the reserve cabana mini suites ( deck 9, somewhat forward) we changed to deck 15 midship. The location was important and we doubt that we would make much use of the sun deck since it doesn’t seem to have shade

The cabana mini suites on the cabana deck have always been open to the cabana deck with “balconies” right on the deck. We moved our reserved cabana mini suite off the sun deck to the cabins next to the sun deck.
