  1. Any idea why Celebrity has cut back on Bermuda sailings in 2020? Looking at the schedule, only a few sailings next year.
  2. Hotel prices are pretty steep in Venice for a pre-cruise stay. Does anyone have any experience with using Air BNB in Venice?
  3. Trying to choose a cabin away from smokers. Do you recall if smoking was on starboard or port?
  4. I agree - the Princess Live venue seems to have replaced the Vista Lounge for night activities and it's not large enough. We enjoy both Princess and X and for that matter we have a good time on Carnival as well. We just enjoy cruising.
  5. We don't have to agree 🙂
  6. During the daytime the concerts are fine for us. I prefer music while I'm laying on the deck with a book. 🙂
  7. Off the top of my head - Born To Dance, Bravo, Bettlemanics, and a comedian twice

  9. In fact, movies, bingo and art auctions are about the only thing they did in the Vista Lounge. It was a really nice, large wasted space. I actually commented to my wife on Saturday evening, it was the first cruise that there was no reason for us to even go into the Vista Lounge.
  10. Note - as stated by caribbean2000, the beach area for the rental chairs is VERY small and all the way to the right end of the beach. The beach really isn't that great - very rocky with lots of boulders. You WILL need water shoes to go into the water unless you have steel feet. The chairs are pretty old and shabby as well. We went to SH last week based on reviews by others here on CC because we wanted to have a chair and umbrella. If I had it to do over, I'd take a sheet to use under beach towels and head to Lindquist Beach and just ship having a chair and umbrella.
  11. We really enjoyed the cruise and all of the crew we encountered were very friendly.
  12. OK, We sailed last week on the Regal Princess. Our first cruise on a Royal class ship and our first cruise on Princess since 2010. Some thoughts - Getting on and off the ship in Ft. Lauderdale was seamless. No issues. Arrived at the port around 11:15 and were on board by 11:30. Cabin was very nice, plenty of storage, comfy bed, plenty of lighting. Nice large closet area, but this seems to be at the sacrifice of space in the bathroom which seemed smaller than other ships when been on recently. The balcony was by far smaller than others we've had. Food - very good in the MDR. Service was very good and our Head Waiter was very personable. Probably the most attention we've received from a HW in all of our cruises. He was a really nice guy. The buffet was probably the nicest we've seen on any ship. Public areas were what we remember from other Princess ships, very nice but not over the top. The dining rooms were nice but nothing dramatic. The main lobby was very nice, but seemed smallish for a ship this size. The main entertainment was good and we enjoyed the main production shows. Our last 2 cruises before this one were on Celebrity Equinox and Summit. The Equinox is actually slightly smaller than the Regal, but not significantly. We enjoyed our return to Princess and it was a great cruise. I'd rank Princess and Celebrity pretty close with a slight nod to Celebrity. I really thing that Celebrity's Solstice class ships are nicer than the Royal class ships of Princess. Their main lobby and dining rooms are much nicer. I'd even give the nod to the entertainment on Celebrity. That said, I would not pay a huge difference to cruise on one vs. the other. We'd book whichever had the route we wanted on the week wanted for the best price. Any specific questions - ask away and I'll try my best to answer.
  13. WOW - we just binge watched season 1. How fun. Thanks for sharing the link.
