Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I can vouch for that. Was on Euribia last month where the onboard currency is Euro and I purposely used a Euro MasterCard issued by a Portuguese bank thinking I would escape foreign charges. To my horror, I later discovered that I was charged a 3% fee plus 4% stamp duty making a total fee 3.12%. When I queried it, my bank told that the charge originated in Geneva and because Switzerland is not an EU member state a foreign transaction fee applies. It would have been cheaper to use my GBP MasterCard. Lesson learnt!!
  2. I agree, it looks like Catalan Bay.

  4. We didn't, they only provided the chocolates.😕
  5. If the email was deleted from your mail client on a local machine then it may still be available on your mail server that you should be able to retrieve using webmail access.
  6. Here's the link https://www.cunard.com/content/dam/cunard/marketing-assets/pdf/cunarder/0893CNM_CUNARD_WINTER_2023_Single_pages.pdf
  7. Just popped through my letterbox.
  8. Not sure where you have seen that, maybe another cruise line perhaps? The itineraries on the MSC website all seem to refer to "Day 1" as being embarkation day.
  9. You wouldn't receive any discount. Given that the discount is applied at the point of sale, the 50$/€ would need to be spent in a single transaction in order to trigger the 10 $/€ discount. Your experience of the cashier splitting the $100 transaction into two is interesting and I wonder if you would have still received $20 discount had the transaction not been split. After all the T&C's do state for "each" 50 $/€ spent a discount of 10 $/€ is applied.
  10. According to the Voyagers Club T&C's effective 28 April 2022 https://www.msccruises.co.uk/-/media/uk/documents/42967_02_voyagers_club_terms_and_conditions_eng.pdf, the discount is for "each" 50 $/€ spent and the discount is applied at the point of sale. • MSC SHOPS DISCOUNT: for each 50 $/€ spent in any onboard shops you will benefit of 10 $/€ discount. It applies to Classic, Silver, Gold and Diamond card holders.Discount will be applied at the point of sale. Non-cumulative to other promotions available on board. Valid only the first day of your cruise (tobacco and electronics excluded). Not available to members under 18 years of age.
  11. Ask at the Tour Office to check what transfer options they will be offering. On my two previous Westbound TA's, the first was a tour pre flight that drove us around for a while, then dropped us off near one of the piers in Manhattan where we had some free time. An hour or two later, the coach returned for our onward transfer to JFK. The second time was a transfer to The Crown Plaza at JFK where we had a day room before our flight back to the UK.
  12. That is not an Airport transfer. The New York Highlights was a tour available on my last B2B a few years ago and that tour drops guests back at the pier.
  13. Certainly in the past they have. But you make a good point and I very much doubt the OP will be permitted to book a roundtrip tour post cruise which as you say is intended for those passengers in transit.
  14. Your luggage goes on the coach for the tour and the same coach drops you off at the airport.
