  1. Very disappointing for sure. I do wonder where they were though. The thinning crowds would have surely made me check and double check the time.
  2. Only 2 ships can dock at Coco Cay at once. Many people are going to be disappointed with the new ports and some will be happy. I got switched to Grand Turk and was pleased as we have never been there before. I've been to Coco Cay several times so I didn't necessarily want to go there again. So, it's 50/50. The best you can do is try to make the best of it or cancel and lose money. As it's been mentioned here many times, per your cruise contract Royal can change ports for any reason. I can imagine your frustration especially coming all the way from Argentina, but there's not anything that can be done. I hope you still have a great cruise.
  3. Thank you for this write-up! Independence is our favorite ship. Just came back from cruise #5 on her and we've been on Freedom as well. We did Symphony once and while that was fabulous, it's not in our budget nor does it always fit well with the school schedule. We just love the flow and ease of Indy. There's always good music and never too crowded anywhere. I like that Adventure itinerary and we're in Hollywood so PC is still a good choice. I think I'll leave it in the running. Thank you!
  4. Have you been on Adventure before? I'm debating on a similar cruise but I've never sailed that class (only higher). I'd love your thoughts whenever you are rested from returning to work.
  5. I bid for the first time and never received an email saying I didn't win. No big deal of course, but I know people always say you get an email even at the last minute.
  6. I guess you mean they ran into trouble after they left. You can power them up and test them out before you pull off. The no brakes is scary especially with the donkeys in the road!
  7. Well the tour was $25/person so that would have been $75 for 4 hours. For an extra $45 we could be out all day. Time in port 8:30 - 4:30. We did 9 to about 2:30.
  8. There were plenty of excursions available once we boarded Thursday. We rented a golf cart at the port for $120 (cash only plus gas) for the day. It was fun being on our own tour but there isn't much to see! The island is very safe, very few locals even out. Gas station attendant told us the weekends are very low-key here and most people stay home. The golf carts and ATV's are 90% of the vehicles on the road. There is nothing much "downtown". We ate at Jack's Shack and spent about an hour at Governor's Beach. Oh, a 1/2 tank of gas was $10. It was a really nice day and it was a bonus to go somewhere we've never been! And fun seeing the donkeys. They are plentiful!
  9. Sorry, but Symphony is going to Falmouth 3/25. Jamaica is not nearly in the same situation as Haiti. It would take a lot more than a few phone calls to change that stop.
  10. We went to Chukka Estates. The roads are a little bumpy, but the place was very nice, clean and not crowded
  11. We leave tomorrow with our new stop in Grand Turk on Saturday. We never got the ability to book excursions. I assume that should improve on future sailings.
  12. Dear Guest, Due to the evolving situation in Haiti, and in an abundance of caution, we’re temporarily suspending our visits to Labadee for our entire fleet. We continue to monitor and assess the situation with our Global Security & Intelligence Team. We’ll now enjoy a visit to Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos instead of visiting Labadee. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by these changes. Nevertheless, we’re excited to take you to a new port! Below, please find our revised Independence of the Seas March 21st, 2024, itinerary.

  14. Forgive my ignorance as I've never flown outside of economy (!), but those seats are very interesting. Is there an option to sit next to someone in your party or is the point to sit alone? Thanks for the review. It's been fun traveling with your family.
  15. Ship is too big for Key West. I'd take Grand Turk or Puerto Plata though.
  16. It's still open and it's a really good time!
  17. Grandeur is now going there on 3/23. Someone posted earlier that they're telling passengers 3 days in advance.
  18. Labadee excursions were canceled by Royal.
  19. This was posted on the other site yesterday. I'll run the tender boat myself! Lol
  20. On Indy 3/21, that's within 7 days so hope we hear today. They moved Grandeur to Coco Cay the day we could have went so that's out. Hope it's not the easy choice of Nassau. We were just there.
  21. This is one of the funniest stories I've read on here in forever! A great story to tell when everyone is sitting around watching over Grandma. 🙂
  22. Sending lots of positive light and prayers to your Grandma and family. It sounds like she has a fantastic support system which will be a huge help to her.
  23. I was thinking that as I'm waiting to hear what happens with the Indy 3/21 sailing. Freedom guests probably loved they were the only ship there 3/23, now we may be pulling up too! Lol
