  1. We are traveling from Los Angeles, Ca to Sydney with a 3 hour layover, then continue to Auckland to catch a cruise. Will we clear customs in Sydney? Will our checked luggage ship all the way through (same air carrier) or will we need to collect it for customs and then recheck for the final leg? Is 3 hour layover sufficient? Thanks in advance.
  2. No, there is no fee to use the card. Just make sure to maintain the minimum amount in your account.
  3. We have the same with Wells Fargo. It is a Debit card with VISA privileges. It is NOT attached with our checking account so if it is hacked there is no way of getting to the rest of our monies. It is a separate account number, separate PIN and separate card. There are no foreign transaction fees. No monthly bank fee as long as $500 is kept in the account.
  4. Question for all of you experienced packers. Do you use a toiletries kit bag ( like a mans shaving kit size) or pack items of same type in zip locks. My husband thinks keeping everything in a kit is better. His shaving kit is 9” x 6” x 3 and takes up a large space in his suitcase. I say if he puts like items in zip locks and packs them into small spaces within his luggage, he will save room. (Bandaids, nail clippers, q-tips, etc in one zip lock; toothpaste, toothbrush in another and so on.) How do you pack toiletries?
  5. We will be arriving at Auckland International at 4:30 pm and heading to the Four Points by Sheraton, Auckland on Mayoral Dr. There are five of us and five checked bags. Should we pre-book a shuttle, or are their taxi-shuttle-vans at the airport that we can hail once we arrive? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.
  6. This has not been our experience. We always get unopened sodas and keep them in the frig. Especially Ginger Ale. Never know when a little motion sickness will hit. We keep about four unopened sodas in the room. Just remember to restock the next time you are headed back to your room.
  7. Thank you for your input. I will contact the hotel to have them book it.
  8. We are looking for transportation from the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay to the airport. The hotel suggests Brunel Limousine Service. The price is $144 for 5 people and luggage, which doesn't seem too outlandish. We have a 10 am flight out of SYD so I'm not convinced we want to deal with trains, subways, etc at 6 am to get to the airport on time. Has anyone used Brunel Limo service? If so, how was your experience? Any other suggestions are appreciated.
  9. We will be flying into New Zealand to board our cruise ship. We regularly use Melatonin when traveling where there is a big difference in time zones. I have been looking over New Zealand web sites and it appears that Melatonin is a Controlled Substance there and illegal to bring into the country, even though it is purchases over the counter in the US. Can anyone confirm whether or not we can take it into New Zealand. Thank you in advance for any information.
