Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Maybe if a lot of people share with Carnival the following which is on the Bermuda government website where you apply for the Travel Authorization. We still have to wait for the ok from Carnival, but..... https://www.gov.bm/cruise-travel-authorisation Cruise Passenger Travel Authorisation All Cruise travellers arriving October 25 2022 onwards will no longer require a pre-travel test, arrival test or a day 4 test. Unvaccinated non-resident travellers will still be required to upload valid proof of travel health insurance to enter Bermuda. Up to and including October 24, the requirements below apply to visitors arriving in Bermuda. Effective 22 August 2022:
  2. Good news regarding NCL testing. By the way, for our upcoming Carnival cruise: BERMUDA changed the information regarding their Travel pass. On an earlier post, I cut/pasted "arriving" October 25. The next day they changed it to travel "starting" the 25th. Leaves one very confused.
  3. Eager to hear how parking at the Norfolk airport works. We are on the October 23 cruise. Have never used Uber but have used taxis. Looks like one parks, goes to terminal, catches a ride (about $25 one way?), then same for return. Any new experiences welcome, including if someone parked at the recommended Cedar lot.
  4. Just saw this while applying for Bermuda travel pass. Wonder if the cruiselines will also not require? 5. Thanks all of you for the insights and ideas. Very helpful!
  6. I'm going to have to find, then read the terms/conditions about making a change for flight or cancelling to book my own. The flight option is cheap and we don't mind incovenience, but do mind possibly missing a cruise. My memory is NCL is more strict about allowing changes in flight booking. Maybe not so strict if the deviation is chosen along with a hotel booking? I'll have to understand that portion and what additional costs are. I am wondering if there are any cruisers who did "same day" arrivals and how that went. Isn't NCL committed to hold the departure if the flight is delayed IF they were booked through NCL? I wonder if the NCL insurance makes a difference. One must use the flight customer service line. Those references don't seem to suggest the insurance is critical for them to help you. Thanks for any experiences and observations. We're looking forward to the Southern Caribbean and the ABC's.
  7. Thank you for the specifics. Was your hotel also booked by NCL? Although we've done many cruises, we've always booked our own flights before. Looks like I have more research to do.

  9. We have booked the 2 for 1 flight option to San Juan from Virginia for an upcoming NCL Epic cruise in February 2023. Curious about NCL booking stories, especially for same day arrivals to and ultimate returns from San Juan. Our original departure is from RIC. Thank you.
