  1. Maryann, so sorry Jim was unwell and you had to cut short your long awaited cruise. This gallbladder should have had the decency to wait until the cruise's end, at least!! Glad that he's now on the mend. Stay healthy, take care, and big hugs (((( )))) 😘
  2. And here I was thinking Crystal ( @singinalot) was kidding... didn't know "gator" meat is edible 😕 @xpcdoojk, JC, just curious, did you visit Bucharest or other parts of Romania on this occasion? ... "Reminds me of our first river cruise, sailing from Romania." ....
  3. Bonnie, pls. don't forget Renee's ( @ReneeFLL), even though she's doing "just" a semi-live 😉
  4. @jagsfan, Mimi, + 1 😘 🌷 @Sunshine3601, Debbie, so glad you're on the mend. Keep up the good "work", the first days are annoying, then it gets better.... so long as you've not lost your smell and taste.
  5. Yay, Renee, what a feast we'll have with all the semi- and live reviews!! (along with Greg @Sea Dog, John @Ozark_Kid, and lastly with Crystal @singinalot, Bob @bobmacliberty, Andrew @A&L_Ont.... and Greg 😉 @Sea Dog) Hats off for taking time from your cruise to do this, a big thank you 😘
  6. Agree. Those were holding the "franchise" at the Waimea's Canyon parking lot.... They were very happy with the food we provided 😉
  7. Glad you made it to Firenze. Hopefully the excellent meal you had (especially the Pappardelle, looks amazing) will "appease" Merv's spirit, and from now on, with all the rich culture surrounding him, he will "behave". Enjoy !!!
  8. I'm also thinking about her, but it was a longish cruise (12 days), so may be she's "recuperating".... Meanwhile, my eldest son posted some pics enjoying the waves 😉
  9. @ReneeFLL What an amazing itinerary, not to mention the added bonus of spending time in Hawaii pre-cruise and Sydney post-cruise. I'm especially fascinated by Moorea and Papeete. Wishing you the best of weather all along, especially in the Sounds.
  10. @LATTELOVE We spent 2 days before our POA cruise touring Oahu with a rented car, as well as renting a car in every port during the cruise. It was very easy, the roads were good, and most importantly -- the restrooms along the way were clean. We were left with a very good impression of the possibility of touring Hawaii DIY "style".
  11. Same here, first time no pain after the flu shot. Moreover, usually I got sick with flu-like symptoms after the shot. This time -- nada. Grateful. We're eligible for the 3rd booster... Since I've had Covid less than 4 months ago, not in a hurry this time. Neither is DH, even though he was not sick. Somehow, here, Covid stopped being an "issue".....
  12. Itinerary for us, with one exception.... when Allure was in Europe for dry dock, we wanted to experience an Oasis class ship "close to home".
  13. @sgmn & @John&LaLa Cinque Terre from La Spezia Sue, Symphony is in port from 08.30 to 20.30. Plenty of time with clever planning to see all 5 "terras", either via boat/ferry or by train. We've done it by land tour with a rented car, so no personal experience. John, excellent advices on Italy's ports. Portofino and Sante Margherita Ligure also are not to be missed, especially by "Hlitner" (Hank) and "cruisemom42". https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/464-italy-ports/
  14. Every one here is praying for her recovery !!! Elite Israeli Air Force unit rescues American who had heart attack on Odyssey between Ashdod (Israel) and Limassol (Cyprus), according to the Times of Israel -- ".... Elite Israeli Air Force unit rescues American who had heart attack on cruise ship Evacuation made following requests by American officials; woman brought to Haifa hospital. The Israeli Air Force’s elite helicopter-borne search and rescue unit evacuated an elderly American citizen from a cruise in the Mediterranean early Thursday morning, after she apparently had a heart attack. The Unit 669 crew brought the woman to Haifa’s Rambam Medical Center, where she was being treated. The evacuation was made following a request made by American officials, according to a military source. There was no immediate comment from Rambam on the woman’s condition. Unit 669, which specializes in complex combat rescue operations, including outside of Israel’s borders, is routinely dispatched to rescue civilians in incidents where civil emergency services are unable to. ..."

  16. @FromSea2ShiningSea, Helen & Marty, same here, hopefully your visit to my little corner of Earth will be a very interesting, enjoyable and pleasant one 😘 Safe travels tomorrow and kind regards to handsome [and naked] David 😉
  17. Yes, she is, from late April until the end of October, either from Barcelona or Rome. The itinerary is "nothing to write home about", but we've done it just for the ship when Allure was here in 2015. From Rome. The easiest embarkation and debarkation ever 😁
