  1. We just sailed the Mariner from PC. There is a deck assigned to that ship and lighted signs will tell you where to go. You drop your luggage and I assume your husband then pull into the garage to find a spot. When I was exploring this I read there was no more pay ahead / shuttle but not sure about that but the RCL / Mariner set up worked fine for us.
  2. Well when I filled out our docs, 1:00 was the earliest offered - earlier times must have been offered to others.
  3. We took a 5 day sail on Mariner for the - you guessed it - grandkids! Overall it was a great experience and exceeded my expectations (which were not very high) Fortunately we (the grandparents) were "Diamond" and really glad about our perks - esp. the coffee available and the peace and quiet in the sky lounge. We managed to get a table assigned to us after sailing as we had signed up for "my time" and that didn't work with our 8 and 12 year olds. The dining room food ranged from rarely inedible (shrimp risotto) to not bad on most nights. I did miss the every day choices Celebrity has on their nightly menu.Choices in lido cafe very good, esp. Indian dishes. Overall the kids loved it and could easily access the slides and other features. It is unlikely I will sail RCL again unless with children. It was quite crowded and actives at some of the venues did not fit! Trivia in Schooner bar way too crowded. But RCL is great as a family destination. One more gripe - we received several prompts from RCL to board at our assigned time - we thought we ad an early time 1:00 pm and arrived about 12;45. We could hardly find a parking space and the ship was already a hive of activity. I think if they are going to tell people an assigned time, they should make some effort to proceed with that expectation.
  4. Sorry it was a post on this board: C & A informations - a lot about Pinnacle and non Pinnacle and some lounge? access.
  5. We depart Mariner on Sat. Will go to Nassau instead. Are there beaches near the port - other posters do not seem fond of Nassau.
  6. Well I read the new info sent out today and am a bit confused. We are Diamond - we can get 4 drinks (up to a certain amount) each day - but any where? anytime? MDR? or is there a happy hour we must go to. We are on Mariner.
  7. We are sailing with grandkids - have not been on Royal for many years. It seemed there were so many activities for the kiddies (8 and 12) but now I am realizing many / some? of them cost extra. Could former cruisers give me a heads up on which are FREE and other that there are charges for. Thanks!
  8. We sail March 16 on Mariner - 4 adults, 2 children ages 8 and 12. When we booked we picked My Time Dining but now I think that might not be a good idea. I tried to make reservations but what is available now is like 8:00 and later😝not good with kids. We would like to eat in the main dining room but now I am worried about wait times. If we show up around 6 - will there be a long wait? Two of us are Diamond members - will that help. Suggestions / experiences please. Thanks!
  9. thank you for answers so far - on my webpage it says I have 38 points but lists me as Diamond - we did many Celebrity sailings several yeas back- does this sound right? and no more internet minutes - you have to do a day at a time?
  10. In the past....when we boarded in our stateroom there was a paper summarizing / coupons what we could use with OUR status. Is there anything personal like that or I just need to look thru that other long chart of benefits? I would prefer something personalized!
  11. I have 81 credits - so it seems I can get 4 drinks (up to $14) a day. My husband is sailing with me - so is it 4 drinks per person or per cabin - thanks!
  12. Well I looked thru some board posts but still a bit confused what is best for RCL / Mariner. What have others done? pre-booked, is that a must? Our boarding time is 1:00 and some of the shuttles stop? at 1:15. Advice please! Can we drop off luggage and some passengers before parking? Thanks! Sometimes the more I read the more confused I get!
  13. Is there a designated smoking area on MOS? Cigars OK?
  14. Barcelona will be more convenient (unless things have changed). The port for Rome is about 40 minutes out but there is a convenient train if you stay near the train station in Rome OR go out and stay at the port the day before - which if you don't plan to sightsee would make it an easy embarkation.
  15. We are cruising with our grandchildren in March - not too interested in port options - if we stay onboard will the slides and other onboard "play stations" be available to them? Thanks!
  16. Well I am a bit confused - I seem to have 38 points but Diamond Level. OK, assuming I am Diamond what free adult beverages can I get - a designated happy hour? and complimentary up to $14 a day? I'm thinking $14 would only buy one adult beverage? or is it multiple as long as they are under $14? or use it on coffees and cokes? Thanks!
  17. It has been over 15 years since we sailed RCL - now we are going with grands, ages 8 and 12. I am a bit shocked when I look at "excursions" in the above ports to see mostly pricey cabana options. Can we just go to the beach and there will be shady places to sit? rent snorkel gear and wade in? lunch served? Are all the slides and such on the ship free? if you stay on the ship when it is at the beach, will the slides and such be operating on the ship. Should we purchase activities on the ship ahead of hand. Things seem more complicated than before😒and I want the grands to have a good time! THANKS for any info!

    shops onboard

so can you buy liquor in the shops to take back to your room?

    shops onboard

We cruised Journey a year ago and the inventory in the shops was quite pitiful. We have quite a bit of OBC, hoping to spend some in the shops if I see some items I like. How is inventory in the shops these days?
  20. I think Celebrity is similar to Princess and HAL as far as not many children, decent but not exceptional food - however have sailed none of them post pandemic. The Celebrity ships are actually not THE mega ships but Azamara is much smaller. It might depend on where you are sailing. We often sailed Celebrity with teens / young adults - they liked the ships but Azamara is a level up!
  21. harrodsfan - where was this evening?
  22. I'm not much of an evening / entertainment person. Do some folks / a few stay onboard instead of going to the venue? Thanks
  23. Success, well maybe. So I HAD to make final payment today - go in on Safari, payment screen shows ERROR, cannot put in info. Go to Firefox, password snafu, finally get in there - my cruise is there, go to payment screen - oh what is this - now a different cruise is at the top of the page (Dublin to Southhampton) but also is listed the correct cruise further down - so which cruise am I paying for????? I went ahead and paid and whew! I can now find the correct cruise, paid in full. But it is hard to understand how this company is functioning with the phones and website such a mess.
  24. Well as an adult, I agree with what others have said but then you have the grandCHILD element - if they see it, they will want it. I guess I'll have to put on my Grandma NO T-shirt. If you go to the snorkel part, is there shade? While the ship is stopped at CocoCay, are the slides, surf element, rock climbing open on the ship? THANKS
  25. Have not cruised with RCL for awhile - so now going with grands - had NO idea the "perfect day" came with a hefty entrance fee - I thought it was all part of the private island. Not happy! If you don't do the water park - are there other pools? or just the beach? Can you rent snorkel gear at the beach? Is there shade?
