We just got back from Anthem. We had an adjoining cabin. The connecting door is just as you walk in from the hallway. We didn’t hear anything at all from our neighbors.

Oh the beds surprised me were hard, but I was told you can ask your room attendant for padding soften them up. We didn't but should have. The balcony in a regular balcony room was awesome. Plenty of room, 2 chairs, some leg rests to stretch out and a small table. The balcony's on Breakaway were TINY, barely enough room to sit.
Oh one question for other Anthem passengers in the past. Did the water in the shower go from hot to warm to cool and cycle through like that the entire shower? That I didn't like but should have asked our room attendant again. Also based on how the ship was designed with the indent in the middle, is it better to have an Aft or Forward room where its bulged out for lack of a better word? We were on deck 12, unobstructed view and loved it, but I am thinking the bulged out rooms might be cooler? Any thoughts on that?
We were on the same cruise. We really enjoyed it. Our shower stayed hot the entire time - very nice. The only complaint we had was all the strange noises that could be heard all night long. It didn’t wake me from sleeping but sometimes made it difficult to fall asleep.

I wonder if that Salem tour even went today. Salem was one of the areas that had some flash flooding with all the rain overnight. I thought Salem and Lynn were the areas that got it worse.
Portland should be better tomorrow. The weather is saying high of 67 but not predicting rain, so that isn't bad.
Check out Holy Donuts on Exchange Street for an awesome potato donut! Have one for me too!
While not on a ship tour, we did go to Salem and didn't see any flooding. Had no problems at all.

is it ok to ask them not to do this? I find this thing somewhat terrifying. [emoji33]

I always present it to the steward as “please take a break from our room, I will just see what out traveling companions have”. They may appreciate the time they don’t have to spend doing that.

Looking forward to following along. We are on in two weeks!

Lobster (included in the cruise fare) will be served on the second formal night. We asked about it last night in the dining room because I want it too!

Thank you!!

Hi to everyone on the ship. Since last night was the first formal night I was just wondering if they served the lobster tails. It's usually the second formal night. We have the BOGO dinners and one person in the group is concerned he will miss the lobster night. I want to reassure him and/or change his plans.
Thank you!

Looking forward to this review. We are doing NE/Canada on Anthem on 9/28. Can't wait.

Looking forward to our Alaskan cruise in 11 days! I have a few questions about attire, can men wear jeans to the dining room for dinner? And on formal night, is a suit required or would a sports jacket work? I'm wondering if I should bring 1 pair of sneakers or 2? Thanks for the insight!
When we went on Radiance jeans were fine in the dining room. We thought formal night was less formal than we had seen on Caribbean cruises. I'm sure a sport code would be fine. I would bring two pairs of sneakers or walking shoes in case one pair gets wet.

Have you been to the Wonderland Bar on deck 12? I was on the 2 week Harmony transatlantic and enjoyed many many evenings there drinking French Martinis made by Cat, the bartender. He is terrific! If you go and see him, tell him hello from Susan, the mini French martini girl!
Enjoy the rest of your cruise!

Susan,
Why didn't you ever come to the Martini making classes. We had a blast and yes, Cat was the best bartender I have ever gotten to know. I wonder if he is still on the ship and if so, if he is still in Wonderland?

You're welcome Chowna.
The Aquas are all up on decks 9 and 10 on the Edge. Just try and steer clear of the Magic Carpet moving platform on the port side.

I believe the Magic Carpet is on the Starboard side of the ship.

You can still call and order.
Order your favorite Celebrity items before, during, or after your cruise. Surprise your friends with a gift delivered onboard, or treat yourself at any time. To order, call 1-800-242-6374, Option 1. Outside the U.S., call 305-982-2406.

The all inclusive quote from Celebrity (on board booking) for 10 or 11 night was around $24K per couple. It included everything you stated above: transfers, air, excellent hotels like Sheraton and Westin, meals, tours. Not included was spa services and laundry. The on board presentation was very nice.
Again, different strokes for different folks: A friend had done it via national geographic years ago and again via X and said it was no comparison, X won by far! Another friend had done it via Globus twice and had excellent reviews. I have not done it yet, but from all the info presented to me by X, and the two friends, I would be inclined towards X.
Hi Arzeena . We actually booked on board Summit. The 10 day price in an XD was about 14k. We will have to pay airfare but...
It's a bit pricey and we may ultimately opt for something different but their presentation was spectacular and really gave us the desire to go.

If they are changes since 1st quarter cruises, the only thing I would be disappointed with is if they internet was downgraded, since it was just upgraded and this was my first ever cruise where I was happy with it.
As far as the sparkling wine, I don't drink it, the chocolates, I don't eat them (if chocolates are a cutback, it would be strange because the new President made such a big deal when she brought them back), and I have enough Celebrity bags to start a store.
Hopefully, more posters will post their experiences for April and May, so we can see if these are cutbacks or just a one off on your cruise.
We were on Summit for the repositioning to Bayonne. We were in a C1 but all of those things were in our room or available (of course except for the slippers).

We had no problem with the noise or lights. Could not hear the music from Spice H2O. It is too far out. And no problems with the lights at all. And this is posted from my own experience not from reading others reports. You should try it yourself and let us know what you thought of it.
We were also in an aft cabin and had no problems with noise or lights. The only time we even noticed the lights was when we were all the way at the rail of the balcony.

Maybe you should have asked for a Sippy Cup.
Funny you should say that our travel companions brought one of the closed cups with a straw the next night. Would have been funny except I got caught on the tablecloth trying to get into the chair and nearly pulled the entire table setting off. [emoji33]

We were on this cruise as well. It was our first time on Celebrity. We were very impressed with the food. I did take issue with the water glasses in the MDR. In one sitting the glass slipped from my hand and spilled all over the table. The next night they gave me a stemmed water glass. Thoughtful.
The scrambled eggs at the omelette station were always cold but the omelettes were great! We ate at Tuscan Grill one night. It was VERY good. We really enjoyed this trip and look forward to sailing Celebrity again.

We had three of us with the unlimited package two weeks ago. We used phones and tablets and never had a problem with the connection. We did not do any major downloads so I can't speak to the speed of the connection, but it was strong enough anywhere on the ship we wanted to use it.
While doing work is never a great way to vacation, sitting at the oceanview bar on the back of deck 10 is a pretty good spot to do it!
Thank you. We actually have an aft facing balcony room. Hope the connection is good enough from there. I won't have to work long, just a couple of hours on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Not enough to ruin the cruise!!

How is the internet service on Summit? I need to do some work on my upcoming trip.

You get 3 per person per day for use between 5 and 7 PM at your choice of most of the bars on the ship. They cover the same items you would get in the elite event normally, and the bars all have the "menu" displayed just like you'd see in the Sky Lounge just in case you forget what your choices are. :)
And yes, they are dated. Though I have read here that people have gotten away with using them on other dates than those printed on the coupon. I've never tried it myself--more than a couple of drinks would be a bad idea for me if I want to do anything the rest of the evening.
Is this only for Transatlantics, or for all cruises (like Royal does)?

Thought about adding this to my 4/22 cruise (B2B) but the booking system says there are no cabins available! Hard to believe with many people cancelling this cruise.
I've considered the same thing. I think you have to call. I may call just to see, but with also having to change the flight, it may not be worth the effort.

The Youtube video (thanks to those who posted the link) seems to offer a really good overview of a balcony cabin.
As far as I can judge, it looks like a beautifully appointed higher end hotel room. But not so great for a ship's cabin? The bare desk without any visible shelf stowages will get very messy indeed. Picture all your stuff including wine bottles & glasses, camera, binoculars, sunglasses, etc. unsecured on a crowded desk surface. I don't want to be a naysayer so early in the game, but I fear that being organized will be a challenge. Although, the bathroom looks nice.
Hopefully this is not the final version. I'm also curious about the size and layout of the closet. I guess that this will be a wait and see.
I also don't see any sort of vanity. I like to do paperwork at a desk, not sitting on the bed.

Cabin 1100 has to be my favorite of all time. That being said, after our Alaska trip, I said if we were to do it again I may not bother with the balcony. We weren't out there enough to make it worth the while (as opposed to being up top where you can see all around as mentioned previously). We did the Caribbean when we were in 1100 and loved it (it was on Brilliance but I'm sure it is the same).

So I was trying to book a cruise for my family of 5 (odd number) on AMA and even though this cruise is offering discounts, I was told the single supplement is only off the brochure price regardless of any discounts being offered! Can anyone confirm that singles get the single supplement only off the brochure price?

Yes, same here but still a huge savings.

Looks like you have stopped just south of the Verrazano Bridge. Have they made the transfer there?
