I am looking to book this for our Alaska cruise however the size is giving me a bit of anxiety. For those who have done this how difficult was embarkation / debarkation as well as getting off the ship for excursions. I have read reviews that it is crazy at these times and so many people also complain about how hard the beds are. Also how hard was it to get a reservation for the skydiving simulator, bumper cars or the North Star. We have always done smaller / medium size ships so I am feeling a bit unqualified to make a decision on the mega ships.

We are a family of 3 (mom, dad, DD 12) and I am looking at a balcony cabin or the spacious forward facing ocean view cabin. I am torn as I think my husband and I would like to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view while our daughter sleeps in but the ocean view could be nice for more space and we would be able to enjoy the view from the front of the ship (but we would have to be quiet if the kiddo is still sleeping). The ocean view is $800 more than the balcony. For those that have done Alaska were you able to enjoy the balcony with the weather? We have cruised in all cabin types and in the Caribbean and Europe but we have never done Alaska so I thought I would go to the experts before I book. Thank you!
