  1. Service charge on beverages is 18%. The various beverage packages cover the service charge for included beverages.
  2. Yes. They started coming in email a few weeks before sailing.
  3. No, I only posted deck plans. You can see relative sizes of rooms and balconies, but not the actual square footage. Someone put some serious work in on the chart. Respect!
  4. Call Holland America or your TA and ask them to look at the breezily named Guest Logistics Transfer Summary for Vancouver. It's their reference for all the turnaround ports (where ships embark and disembark.). It will list where pickup points are and what hours they're staffed. You're profile says you're from Wisconsin. If you are flying in from the USA, you might have to clear customs, so allow time for that. It looks like room service is likely to be your only option that late. https://www.panpacific.com/en/hotels-and-resorts/pp-vancouver.html
  5. We were on the Nieuw Statendam in December and the Rotterdam last month - both Caribbean itineraries. There was a DJ at the end of each night in the BB King Lounge. There was ballroom dancing late each afternoon. There was also dance instruction most days.
  6. I took all the HAL Deckplans and created a consolidated PDF with every ship in it. Use it to find the hidden traps if you are booking a guarantee. Definitely look at the Spa Rooms or the Accessible staterooms in your guarantee category.
  7. While we probably wouldn't book a Guarantee category, people who do are guaranteed that category or better. It makes a lot of sense if you're happy with all the guarantee rooms. Many people are happy to (1) be on the ship in a minimum category, with a chance of upgrade, and (2) save some money.
  8. We were able to split the payment between gift cards and a credit card. And by "we," I mean a HAL phone rep & me. The website would not play nice with split payments. The website wanted to charge everything to my credit card.
  9. I think it's lucky astrology allocation dice.
  10. Aak about your military OBC. It does not expire, per sec. They just load it to your Mariner account for a certain period. (Two years, I think.) Once you get to the end of the 2 year period, they update the expiration date. You don't have to reapply.
  11. Empty Mini Fridge is a special services item. I have it added whenever we have a beverage package. The room stewards usually take care of it. If they miss it, I'll ask again or put a post-it note on cabinet that contains the fridgelet. Our December Nieuw Statendam guys had it done when we arrived. Our Rotterdam stewards this year needed a post it reminder. (We said thank you in both cases.) We usually get a retreat cabana and wind up with a decent supply of bottled water. The empty fridge gives us somewhere to store it.
  12. To add the space after a photo, tap to the right of the image and hit the Enter or Return key twice. It takes a little while to get used to it. I use the Microsoft SwiftKey keyboard, which has little arrow keys. That makes it easier. However, you add space with any keyboard. You just need to practice.
  13. What are you planning that runs up against the departure deadline? (If it's a crime and you are using the slowest getaway vehicle known to man, please don't post it here.)
  14. The country code for the US, Canada and most of the Caribbean is 1. If you store phone numbers with a preceding 1, your carrier will drop it when dialing from the USA. If you really, really want to have the old timey, just like grandma used to do dialing experience, it's 011+ Country Code + NPA + NXX NPA is numbering plan area, or as you youngsters call it, "Area Code." NXX is the phone number. 7 digits in the US.
  15. While I appreciate Dutch High Tea, I really long for Dutch Low Lunch with all the deep fried Holland Health Foods. And mayo for my fries, of course.
  16. I've bought 1 person Wi-Fi - which as @VMax1700 said, is really 1 device internet. Buy in advance and you'll save.
  17. They'll give you instructions on the first leg. I've gone home on turnaround day and had to be back an hour before sailing. We live close to Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale) and I needed to do some work stuff.
  18. FWIW, on our upcoming cruise, there is no location choice or delivery option on the PG, Tamarind or Canaletto reservation page on the website. I can pick people, date and time, but that's all. If anyone has delivery location on their dining reservation page, can they please screenshot it?
  19. I have copies of our receipt emails going back to 2014. They've always read this way. I have two receipts from NCL in 2017, and theirs followed the same format, with a 3 meal specialty dining package being delivered to the stateroom on embarkation day. If I had to guess, I'd posit that most cruise lines use a similar format. If you have made advance dining reservations in the past, dig up your old receipts. You'll see that your items were delivered to the room or the dining room. If you can remember back far enough, you'll recall that stateroom delivery used to mean that you got the little white "invitation" delivered to your cabin. This is the first time I can recall it ever being a source of confusion. I'll admit that I didn't know what the heck the OP was talking about at first. However, once I saw it, I realized what it was. And... It's been like this for years. Somehow, most of us never took it literally before. I have a receipt for "Pinnacle Grill" being delivered to "Stateroom" in November 2014. Since I have an annoying habit of writing Live-Froms, I can confirm that my wife, my father-in-law and I did not sit on the bed and eat steaks off the coffee table. (Also, the old creme brulee presentation, with the vanilla, chocolate, and mocha, was way cooler.)
  20. OK. Got it now. When you order something in the secondary booking flow, its description has item, date, people, and delivery location. Work with me for a moment. Your Quench Beverage Package says "Delivered to stateroom." All that means is that it will be tied to your room key which will be in your room's mailbox when you arrive. It doesn't mean you have to go to the room when you want a soda. If you order OBC, it'll be listed the same way, despite the fact that it's not even a deliverable item. The location field makes sense for a flower arrangement or balloons, or a celebration cake. For a meal, not so much. I looked at our PG pre-orders. They say Dining Room as well. So did a Tamarind and Morimoto dinner. That's just the way meals get displayed. Don't let it worry you. It always looks like that because secondary flow items have a field that says location. (Secondary flow is the booking system for gifts, excursions, meals, spa treatments, and anything else that's not cruise, hotel or air.) Your images really helped. I honestly had no idea what you were talking about until I saw them. So... Don't worry. Specialty dining always displays that way on the receipt. You'll be dining in whatever restaurant you booked, on the date & time listed.
  21. How to take a screenshot on your Mac. To take a screenshot, press and hold these three keys together: Shift, Command, and 3. If you see a thumbnail in the corner of your screen, click it to edit the screenshot. Or wait for the screenshot to save to your desktop.
  22. Can you screen shot it from the itinerary?
  23. Here's the T&C from the HIA specialty dining for our booking: Specialty Dining is based on cruise duration and ship type. For 6- to 9-day cruises, guests will receive one night at Pinnacle Grill, Canaletto or Tamarind. For ships without Tamarind, guests will receive one night at Pinnacle Grill or Canaletto. For 10- to 20-day cruises, guests will receive two nights: one night at Pinnacle Grill and one night at Canaletto or Tamarind. For ships without Tamarind, guests will receive two nights: one night at Pinnacle Grill and one night at Canaletto. For 21+ day cruises (excluding Grand Voyages), guests will receive three nights: one night at Pinnacle Grill, one night at Tamarind and one night at Canaletto. For ships without Tamarind, guests will receive three nights: two nights at Pinnacle Grill and one night at Canaletto. Offer excludes Specialty Dining events in Pinnacle Grill such as Rudi’s Sel de Mer, A Taste of De Librije and Cellar Master Dinner. Reservations and dining times will be available to pre-reserve.
  24. Can you redact any personal information and post scan of what you are talking about? We have an upcoming reservation with HIA and just had a cruise with HIA last month, so we have fresh paperwork. There's nothing that mentions delivering food from our specialty dining reservation.
  25. Happy to be of assistance! I like to have these PDFs on hand when we're looking at cruises. I hate to have to repeatedly find and download the files from HAL's super-user-friendly, joy-to-use website. I have some industrial strength editing tools, so I mooshed* all the individual ships' deck plans together and added bookmarks to make it easier to move to the page I wanted to see. * Mooshed is a highly technical term meaning combined and condensed.
