  1. The weird thing is that you could have done a booking hold two days prior and then decided if you wanted to book the Good Friday offer or the one you booked. Holds, except for casino rates, are usually good for 5 days.
  2. Virginia is not mid Atlantic. Delaware is though and I didn't see them on the list - unless I missed it.
  3. It also includes the mid-Atlantic states,
  4. We've been on board for Thanksgiving and there were no special Black Friday sales on board. The t-shirt sale by the Lido pool might have taken place that day, but that's more of a "once a voyage" thing as opposed to once a year.
  5. Same size bag. Roll your clothes and it will hold a lot.
  6. So bear this in mind: Do NOT complain about the piano players on the Eurodam! 😁
  7. There is definitely singing along in Billboard Onboard.
  8. Almost all key cards have the same antenna pattern. There are some with more loops that are designed to work further from the transmitter, but "hotel keys" are almost always like the one shown. (Probably without the magnetic strip, though.) A punch can disable the cards by piercing the antenna or the chip. So, how far in AND the side of the card matters. Just trying to rehabilitate Science because it took an awful beating these past few years. 😁
  9. You're in full penalty. After final payment, you can't change your reservation.
  10. The reader sends out a signal which is picked up by the antenna. That creates a charge which powers a capacitor. Once the capacitor is charged it powers the circuit which sends out a numeric code. Each reader is designed to work with a defined series of codes. Once a new, valid code is presented, the reader won't accept the old code. Most readers have a bunch of parallel code series. That's how multiple people can have keys. Otherwise, if one key was lost, they would all have to be replaced. The copper patterns around the outside are the antennae. You can't break the circuit or the capacitor won't charge.
  11. As long as you don't punch through the antenna, or the chip you're fine.
  12. I don't know if it's the way they have the items configured in the shopping engine or what, but some items are credit card only. I don't know if there is an actual reason or if just a misconfiguration. I'm leaning toward the latter.
  13. A lot of the menus have mockup in the URL. As someone with too much time on his hands, I notice these things. I've also been saving Nieuw Statendam menus from Navigator (bestest, user-friendliest app ever!!) for weeks. My guess is that someone sends out the print layout mock up and the person who posts it to the server does not change the file name.
  14. Well... Don't I feel like a cold and heartless bastich for suggesting caviar. What I meant to type was "caring for orphans." Darn that autocorrect!
  15. If there is money on the reservation, there's probably a grace period. If you are talking about Sunday to Monday, you are likely OK. If you are talking about Christmas to New Year's, you probably aren't.
  16. The Club Orange room cards on the current Rotterdam sailing are pre-punched. It's not a round hole, but rather an elongated hole with a roundish middle. (Think rings of Saturn.) I don't know if all the keys are like that, or just the Club Orange ones. While a pre-punched, orange-striped card is nice - it ain't no tote bag. 😁 We're on the Nieuw Statendam in a few weeks and you can be certain that this is just the kind of investigative journalism we will undertake. (For science!) In the meantime, can you show us the perforated end of your room key if you are on the Rotterdam? Please @rafinmd
  17. You know how Bounty is "The Quicker Picker Upper" for spills? We've found that caviar works the same for OBC. Of course, not everyone likes sturgeon eggs with accoutrements, so I suppose watches or bedazzled sun hats would do in a pinch.
  18. There's a campaign code, which usually starts with HEP23. I guess that's for HAL email program, but I am only speculating. The 23 is for the year. The promo codes, as mentioned by @Haljo1935 are in the fine print. They are typically three characters.
  19. I'm pretty sure that you can apply ZPM or ZPN regardless. BTW, those are the two welcome back promo codes. They are triggered by the last sailed date and not the survey.
  20. And Mariner bookings within 90 days of an itinerary release.
  21. No. You can check in when the terminal opens. There's usually an excess of people then, but they don't turn people away.
  22. Sorry to interrupt, Roy. I really appreciate the Club Orange daily reports and all the great info you post! I've had the "disco avatar" since around 2015 or so. I have it in reverse in case CruiseCritic slaps that "Rare" stamp across my head when I do my "Live From" in a couple of weeks. Can't have a stamp blocking my view.
  23. You can probably remove CO if you haven't paid for it yet and taken the upgrade. Otherwise, you might be able to do something within 24 hours. I'm pretty sure that once you are "in", you're in. The cancellation plan will cover you, but if you added Club Orange before paying for the CPP, you would get your refundable deposit back but not CO. The exception would be if you upgrade to a Neptune Suite.
