  1. As a fixed, late people, no one asks us. We do have to present our cards for beverages, but not prior to being seated.
  2. The $2 is refundable. Cancel it before you book the new one.
  3. Here you go. Please note that the kazu.org website is a public access channel and is not affiliated with our very own Kazu from this board. (Her TV & radio url carries a dot ca suffix.) https://www.kazu.org/kazu-news/2023-02-09/monterey-votes-to-deter-future-cruise-visits#:~:text=The city council voted 3,Monterey City Manager Hans Uslar.
  4. Also look at the Brightline train from Fort Lauderdale to Miami. It's really quite nice. They have fares that include transportation from the train.
  5. You can purchase "premium" Internet in advance. There's no email or code that I know of. I purchased premium super deluxe wifi for our cruise in December. Premium Megafuturenet is the only advance purchase option. I would not spend extra money for the premium wifi until I test drove the regular one. If you think you are going to stream video on the ship, you may want to download your content before you leave home. DW is a crazed (in the nicest possible way) Nebraska football fan. We stream the home radio feed. It's lower in bandwidth and we get the best commercials.
  6. It could be a conspiracy to keep DW & I from waving to you. 😁 Carnival built a brand new terminal in Miami and Fort Lauderdale might be getting full. (Although I'm pretty sure that it's so I can't wave at you.)
  7. Glad to hear that @ger_77 could find Sun Trolley info. It's not exactly tourist season here in FLL. (Come for the heat! Stay for the humidity!) On the plus side, we haven't spent a dime on moisturizers since we moved here.
  8. Thsnk you for a well written, derailed trip report! (Upon a second reading, that's kind of sad on my part. Let's see if I can spice it up.) 5 star reporting! I couldn't put it down. Amazingly informative! I laughed. I cried. It moved me! Quite nearly broke my exclamation mark key! ❗
  9. We used 3M Command hooks on the Zuiderdam. They worked well.
  10. It's the HAL logo, albeit an oh-so-tiny version. Either someone got the scaling wrong or my old man eyes are much worse than I thought.
  11. Multi segment cruises are tricky. The cabin inventory is allocated to each segment and you might not find everything online. I'd call a PCC or TA who can work with HAL ship inventory. It's not going to cost you more and it might save some headaches.
  12. The 404 error is "page not found." When you redesign a website, you should redirect every old URL to its new location. (Think of it as a ton of forwarding addresses.) it's a lot of work, but you have to do it so things don't break. You do this with 301 (moved permanently) and 302 (moved temporarily) redirects. If this was done correctly, you would not see the 404s - unless you tried to reach bad URL on purpose. I'd wager $3 that the redirection wasn't done properly. (By way of background, I worked in the tech part of a tiny little company whose stock ticker is T.)
  13. So... I was on my way for a haircut this morning and I see that there is a Senõr Frog's opening on A1A along Fort Lauderdale Beach. I guess my adopted home town has gone "full cruise port." Keeping my eyes peeled for a Diamonds International. 👀
  14. Yes, it is still operating. They are on FB if you want updates.
  15. I noticed that a lot of the names are new. They're also using Dover & Reykjavík as turnaround ports for some sailings. By names, I mean voyage names.
  16. Your odds will increase as you get closer to the final payment deadline in about a month. I don't know about a half price stateroom though. Unless one of the category OO single rooms open, pretty much everything else is double occupancy.
  17. Photo upload probably requires camera and file storage access. If you miss the prompts, it'll never work. See my screen shot and the permissions. It will definitely NOT work for me.
  18. They are probably updating the website. (The app is basically pulling up the same data with a different "presentation layer.") The website version is more robust in almost every case*. A canceled cruise should fall off in a few hours, overnight in the worst case scenario. If you are having problems, call your PCC or TA. *- The display of old cruise folios is better in the app right now.
  19. Thanks for the update. Greatly appreciated!
  20. They say that the best writing paints a picture. This was a superlative post!
  21. Cue Scooby Doo ears... Espresso martinis?
  22. And right you are! I had the answer to my question very early on. I really appreciate the quick responses. Then, the thread drifted. South. So far south that the compass needle pegged into the upright with tray tables stowed position.
  23. Now, now kids... Don't fight. I merely asked if HAL ran any excursions that allowed you to set foot on Antarctica. The way this thread is going, I'm half expecting someone to chime in with, "Expedition ships are nothing. You really need to live in an Antarctic research station for a few months to get the real experience." 😁
  24. You won't always see your promos on the site. The campaign codes start with HEP for email and HAL for postal mail. Your PCC should be able to see if any apply to your booking. If you have the bare bones advantage (refundable deposit) fare, you don't really have any promos to loose.
  25. Your dedication to the bread pudding inspires. Give the bread pudding person (team?) a shout out in the Navigator app.
