  1. Janet, enjoy your cruise, we enjoy Reflection. Off on her sister Silhouette in 10 days!!.
  2. You might want to try OOFOS. They are classified as recovery shoes. Flip flops, clogs, slip on shoes & new running shoes. I’ve had 20 foot surgeries & I cannot recommend these more! They have the large toe box & done cute styles!
  3. Thanks Lois. I just came in from shoveling the 9” of our ‘rain expected’. I almost had to sit on Les to keep him inside! I told him we leave in 10 days, you’re not shoveling!!! He’s definitely feeling better, gallbladder surgeon appt right after we get back from the cruise. Cortisone shot is definitely helping his shoulder. Wish it was working as well with SI joint. His leg wants to give out quite often. At least he’s pretty good with the cane. Melody
  4. Those sandals will be perfect
  5. There were 5 others helping with the wine & there’s still a good litre left!!! I was impressed with it, the taste was lovely; good Bordeaux
  6. The Bordeaux (3liter) we opened for my bday was superb! 5 of us made a big inroad into I!!
  7. More than you expect. You will get reciprocal status to Elite from your Diamond status (not the points, the status)
  8. I wear my black Keen water shoes (my heaviest) on plane, one pair of white OOFO slip-ons (weigh 4 oz), one pair of oofo flip flops, one black dressy sandal & maybe a sparkly flip flop. I need options after 20 foot surgeries
  9. Early bday celebration. Our AF grandson surprised me!! So wonderful having everyone here. Excellent Bordeaux especially with a tuxedo cake (from Costco) Melody
  10. Margaret, sorry to hear about your brother’s heart issues…that’s scary. Les is doing so much better since earlier in the week. He’s moving around house without walker & seldom uses the cane. We leave on 6 Feb (flying first class which will definitely be easier on Les). Son will get us to airport here, we’re being picked up in FLL & will be with friends to get to ship. Really hoping Luggage Valet is an option for getting home. He's bringing walker & cane on the trip & I’ve reserved a wheelchair in Atlanta (both ways). Just need to get him on board & relaxing on the balcony. First time I’ve been glad we didn’t get our normal aft balcony. We’re in a bump out balcony right by the elevators. Melody
  11. Hooded windproof, water proof jacket (windproof pants to pull over pants . Waterproof a pair of old sneakers (plan on leaving them at last port). Smartwool socks
  12. It is a folding walker with a seat (weighs 14 lbs). I’m seriously leaning to bringing it & his cane. We’re flying first class on Delta so shouldn’t be an issue to bring it on board, this medical equipment. thanks for the bday wishes Janet!!
  13. I’m pleased (thrilled more like it) to report that Les is starting to be more like himself. Doc gave him lidocaine patches to put on the SI joint at night. That coupled with the cortisone shot have made a marked difference for him. He’s using a sturdy walking stick now but deciding if he’ll take the mobility walker on the cruise, 🙄. He’s got another week on the antibiotics. We’ll get the results on the gb mri on the 31st (unless something is very abnormal). I pulled out the suitcases yesterday & will finish packing next week (except hanging stuff). my bday is Monday so the kids have decreed we’re having a party on Sunday afternoon, they’re bringing everything. I’ll get more wine! thanks everyone for the positive comments on Les’s recovery, it really helped. Melody
  14. Ah hugs to both of you. We have dogs for such a short time & they entwine themselves into the fabric of our lives. Melody
  15. Had Les back to doc yesterday, cortisone shot in sacroiliac joint & almost instant relief! Hope it lasts!!! He actually slept in bed last night. Ortho surgeon for shoulder today & mri for gallbladder tomorrow. Hopefully he’s headed back to normal active smiley Les we leave in 18 days, he’s determined, I need to pack!!! thanks to everyone for the words of concern & comfort. Melody
  16. It’s so hard to let go of a beloved pet. Hugs to both of you Les is taking every single Septra (& drinking 12 oz water with each pill)
  17. Anita, glad that everything is falling into place!!! Les is having a devil of a time with this back/sciatic pain. He was very resistant to the walker, but says ‘ok, it really, really helps, especially with the torn shoulder’ (we go to ortho surgeon on Thursday). I got the walker on Amazon fully expecting I’d return it, we’re keeping it. . He’s determined to go on this cruise (I’m just really hopeful that we can go!!). Melody I'm beyond grateful that we did the walk-in shower on our upper level before my foot surgery last year
  18. Talk with captains club host on first cruise they’ll take care of it. Personally I’d do a cruise prior & have the Elite plus benefits for the transatlantic
  19. Should be the same confirmation number if you bought a round trip ticket
  20. Kat, every piece of living room furniture we have (on both levels) is a power recliner!! I’ll get him back into our family doc tomorrow, tge sciatic pain & weakness is very troubling. The walker is making a huge difference with stability. I’m used to it being me with mobility issues, not him!! Janet, we enjoyed Harmony, thinking about a Galveston cruise on Allure
