Looks like your questions have been answered. I just wanted to add that I went to Bimini twice last year. This is a port where I would skip an excursion. Once you get off the ship, if you walk down the end of the pier (or wait for the excursions to clear out and you can take the free trolly) there is a shopping area right there. There is a beach there but it wasn't clear to me if you could swim or sit on the beach for free. Also right there are taxis. We took a taxi to town and it was $5 per person each way. They dropped us off "in town" which was about a 15-2 minute ride. In town was a little shopping area, hole in the wall restaurants, and a beautiful free beach. In the alternative, lots of people rent golf carts and drive the island themselves.
BImini is a beautiful island and the people are great. A lot of people don't care for it but I like it better then Nasssau/ Freeport.
