If you only had 3-4 hours in Amsterdam...
jerrib replied to SEA58's topic in British Isles/Western Europe
I hesitate to make a reservation due to weather concerns. Is it possible to just show up and hope they have room? Thanks. -
Okay, I can't vouch for the accuracy of this statement, but I have read it many times over the years from many sources. This - It is apparently standard procedure on cruise ships that when a person fails to report back when the ship is prepared to sail, staff is directed to their cabin and passports are removed from the safe, brought down and turned over to the port agent on shore. Some have reported that sometimes even their medication has been brought down with it. So if you are unfortunately left behind your first course of action should be to contact the port agent for your documents. We never take our passports ashore so I sure hope this is good info.

Side by Side Celebrity to Princess Transportation

FLL - We needed to transfer between two different cruise lines (can't remember which). We knew ahead of time that shuttles would not be available and so decided to cab it. We were concerned that taxi drivers would be reluctant to take us for such a short drive. But the driver informed us that it was fine as in these instances he would be allowed to return to the front of the taxi line. Can't remember the cost but it was pretty cheap. -
Zuiderdam - Quebec City tour and port question
jerrib replied to showgirl85's topic in Holland America Line
As someone on another thread has previously suggested, the cruise line probably intentionally leaves out shuttle info prior to the cruise in the hopes of securing more ship excursions. -
Taxi transfer from Zeebrugge to Bruges
jerrib replied to Travrat's topic in British Isles/Western Europe
I've been searching online and have found this, not sure how up-to-date info is - Taxi - The official fixed rate for Zeebrugge to Bruges is € 50 Cruise Express (shuttle to town) - € 20 return https://www.cruise-express.be/en/ -
Taste of Taj X, Any Experinces?
jerrib replied to NorthStarStateCruiser's topic in Celebrity Cruises
This was available on the Equinox this past Feb. It was held one day in Sushi on 5. $40 pp including the gratuity. It was not highly promoted, we had to inquire in advance. Don't know if those who booked Sushi on 5 (for their reg. menu) were for-warned. -
Lets see if this works - page avail. on my reservation https://www.hollandamerica.com/secondaryFlow/gifts/flowers

I love my morning cappuccino and always have two. I use a Yeti coffee mug that is large enough to hold two which stays hot for me for a few hours. The mug is short, no taller than a regular ship's cup/mug and some ships have brewed directly into it. Other times, after the first day, when they see me set my mug on the counter, they have brewed my coffee into a pitcher, brought it to the counter and poured it into my cup.

Thanks for the info.

Thank you so much. You wouldn't happen to know if there is any shopping nearby? Thanks.

Hi, I've come across some info on this but not terribly recent. I am wondering if this food court is still active and if anyone has had any experience. There were several food booths with outdoor communal seating. TIA

Does anyone know which pier Celebrity uses in Martinique, Pointe Simon pier or Tourelles? TIA

I've read that shops are generally closed on Sundays. I was wondering if this gets waived when cruise ships are in. TIA

Hi, I'll be in Aruba for one day on a cruise. Would like to spend a couple of hours on the beach followed by lunch at Bugaloe's. Are there beach chairs/umbrellas to rent near the restaurant? If so, where would I get off the bus? Thanks!

Miami Port - Getting from Terminal A to Terminal D/E ?
jerrib replied to Duck Down's topic in Florida Departures
We took a cab. Thought the driver might be reluctant for such a short jaunt. He explained that after dropping us off he would be allowed to jump the taxi line as opposed to having to pull up to the rear. Easy ! -
No more COVID-19 testing for most cruises??
jerrib replied to pauly's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I had read elsewhere that destination requirements superseded cruise ship rules. The problem I have is that rapid antigen tests are hard to come by in my area, and PCR tests can take up to 48 hrs. (too close for comfort). -
No more COVID-19 testing for most cruises??
jerrib replied to pauly's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Sailing next month to Bermuda. When it comes to pre-cruise Covid testing, Royal's rules differ from the requirements of the Bermuda Travel Authorization (a requirement for all entry into Bermuda). Royal (as per my pre-cruise email received today) - "Vaccinated guests must show a negative result for a PCR or antigen test taken no more than 2 days before boarding day." Bermuda Travel Authorization - Chart: "Fully Vaccinated Cruise Ship Passengers for Cruise voyage where ship takes 4 days or less to arrive to Bermuda from embarkation port: COVID-19 NAAT test (PCR, LAMP or TMA) up to 4 days before embarkation OR Supervised antigen up to 2 days before embarkation __________________ When it comes to PCR test, which is it, 4 days or 2? Won't call Royal as I have little faith that whomever I reach really knows. -
Good to hear, thanks. As I am unable to locate any menus with pricing, I am going to assume that it is in line with most restaurants in the area and not overly pricey. ??

I get that message no matter where I come in from, including their Facebook page. Weird.

I should have mentioned the location. In Fira, just past Argo restaurant near the donkey street station.

I am hoping someone has personal experience with this restaurant. It has some pretty good reviews. However I have not been able to access their website, I get the message "Website blocked due to trojan", so cannot look at their menu and prices. tia

On the Royal website under FAQ's, it still states 2 per stateroom. Am I looking in the wrong place?
