Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Chrism23, when I booked my cruise on the Muse, I decided to go the cheapest option possible which was a Guaranteed Vista Suite. As we are at 112 days before the cruise, I was only asking if some people had experience of this, just to see when we could expect to get a stateroom assigned. I'm not precious about being anywhere on the ship and if we are on a Vista Suite, I'll be happy all the same πŸ˜‰
  2. Oh you know, a bit more, a bit less πŸ˜‰
  3. Thanks both ! Checking frenetically several times a day πŸ˜‰ Need to be patient ...
  4. Hi all, The question is pretty much in the title of this thread. We are booked in a guaranteed Vista Suite on the Muse in June around Alaska and I was just wondering when Silversea would start assigning the staterooms. We have paid in full, got our excursions and restaurants sorted, just waiting for the last bit ... Many thanks in advance for your help !
  5. Thank you both ! I will pack accordingly. Layers seem to be the main focus here πŸ˜‰
  6. Good morning all, Sorry about a divisive matter but we are cruising on the Muse in June this year from Seward to Vancouver and I'm trying to get a straight answer when it comes to dress code. My understanding is that Silversea would be more relaxed with the dress code compared to other destinations. Before you jump on me, let me add that we cruised Silversea previously and loved the dressing up situation. My question is more about avoid packing things that wouldn't be necessary ( I prefer to travel lighter if I can πŸ˜‰) Many thanks in advance !
  7. I wonder if this couldn't come from the fact that you've been eating this food for well over a month and maybe repetition doesn't make things as exciting as they were to start with ? Obviously it doesn't excuse the badly cooked steak or the other examples you provided but I'm sure it must have an effect on your general opinion of the MDR at the end of the cruise ...
  8. That will do nicely ! Thanks a lot for your quick reply, it’s much appreciated.
  9. Hi all, out of interest, does anyone of you knows which champagne is offered as a welcome bottle in the stateroom ? many thanks in advance !
  10. Thanks a lot ! We are indeed staying in a Silversea hotel (Captain Cook) so it's good to know that we don't have to wake up super early to catch the train πŸ˜‰
  11. Good morning all, We will be on the Muse in June next year and will be landing in Anchorage and spent the night before heading to the station to catch the train to Seward. This is all organised by Silversea. I was wondering if anyone would know when the train is leaving ? We will land in Anchorage quite late so it's very likely it will be a very short night. Many thanks in advance for your returns.
  12. The situation has got so bad that my UK based travel agent has got a weekly call with Azamara to try and sort out the seemingly endless list of customer issues ... I'm one of those customers fighting to get the excursions I've booked with them sorted after a massive change of itinerary in South Africa next year ... It has taken forever and it still not sorted ... Some of the excursions have been cancelled on my booking but some are still there, even if they have been indeed cancelled. No trace of any refund and absolutely zero communication from Azamara as to when this will be sorted. I've been cruising for 10 years and well over 25 cruises by now but it's the first time I have so many problems with a cruise line being unable to perform what you could call simple tasks, such as communication ... It's really frustrating and really doesn't give me the will to book another one with them in a rush ... I keep on reading/hearing that once onboard the experience is top notch, which I'm really looking forward to and I will be sure to give them a chance but they absolutely need to sort out their administration and customer service.
  13. Hi all, We will be finishing our Azamara Pursuit cruise in Cape Town at the end of January and we'll only have our flight back home at 9.15pm ... I'm looking for something to find in between but we would need to take our luggage with us and have an airport drop ... We will spend 2 days in Cape Town before the cruise so I'm flexible in terms of doing what and when but this last day is a bit of a concern ... Any suggestion would be very welcome ! Many thanks ! Julmops PS: I know that Azamara offers a post cruise excursion but it's only 4 hours long and would get us to the airport around 1pm, so much too early, even if we would have lounge access in the airport πŸ˜‰
  14. Thanks for those ! Can I please ask where you get the info from ? All travel agents don't seem to have received any info whatsoever ...
  15. I'm in my late forties and my husband and I had the best time onboard the Silver Moon in February this year. The demographics are definitely on late fifties / early sixties average but as mentioned earlier, it's super easy to socialize and people were very nice and friendly. We met people from across the world and it was really good. The food is top notch. As you mentioned earlier, as the ports will be the main attraction for you, you will spend a large part of your time ashore and September would be the perfect time to go as the temperatures will have gone down a bit but still very enjoyable. Very happy to help if you have any other specific concerns.
