Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Solstice to Alaska, May 26th I'm reading that our Aqua Class cabin gives "priority boarding". Does that mean that we can show up and board at any time, regardless of what time we booked our "health questionnaire/boarding time" for? We are currently scheduled for 1-1:30 but I would love to be lounging on the deck closer to noon!
  2. We normally don't do many excursions anymore (having done most of them already over the years), but as this is my 20th employment anniversary trip courtesy of my company, they are paying not only for our cruise fare but all activities/excursions that we want. So we booked away!!!
  3. Looking forward to your updates. I'm on the May 26th sailing with a group of friends, we are also in Aqua Class cabins. This will be my 7th Alaska cruise, so yeah, we're kind of addicted to it! I was surprised that it sails from Smith Cove, glad I noted that or I might have otherwise wound up at the downtown pier for sailaway -- OOPS! Do you have any excursions planned? I'll be interested to know how crowded the Persion Garden spa gets. That was one of the lures for the AQ cabin. Happy Sailing!
  4. We are about a month out from our Alaska sailing on Solstice and I've gone online to see what reservations are available for either Murano or Tuscan Grill, the specialty restaurants. Every night the earliest availability starts around 8:30PM. That's a bit late for us. Does anyone know if they hold back some time slots for people booking when they get onboard, or are those really all that is available? I didn't really want to be finishing up a fabulous meal at 10PM or later! Thanks for any tips!
  5. Do you feel the small boat tour is worth it? It sounds like you get a much closer look and some different fjord opportunities than what staying on the cruise ship offers. We are going in late May and have heard that the big ship may not get very far into the fjord that time of year, so I'm thinking the small boat tour is our best shot at maybe seeing the Dawes Glacier, our 1st time seeing it, but 7th Alaska cruise overall.
