Has any been successful in getting local currency onboard? We will be sailing to Norway in May. I know most shops in Norway take credit cards but we wanted to have local currency for tips on excursions. Not sure we will ge able to get to an ATM before shore excursions. Looking to exchange US dollars or Euros for Norwegian Krone while onboard.

I just called the Captains Club number to get a clarification on the Alcoves in the Equinox. The representative told me the statement on the website about smart casual required is incorrect (imagine that). I then asked her what was included and she started reeling off the old amenities (beer, Grey Goose, etc). I told her that’s not what was on the website and she started backpedaling, stating all amenities are subject to change according to availability. I love Celebrity but communication and their website is their weakest link. I’m going to keep our reservation and once onboard decide whether or not to cancel.

We don’t care for the infinite verandas on the Edge class ships therefore the sunset verandas are great. We were on the Apex SV on deck 9 and had absolutely no problem with soot. Some people have expressed concern about the long walk from the elevators. I look at it “forced exercise”. I get my steps in going to and from the cabin.

I’ve copied this from the Celebrity Equinox order form for an Alcove reservation for our sailing in May 2023. Highlights It's the perfect escape - within your vacation escape. Some of the pleasures include: Stunning side-by-side views of lawn and sea, as you settle in underneath the shade of a chic, white awning. Complimentary amenities - four bottles of water, a fresh fruit plate, hand-held fans, and chilled towels. Ambient mood lighting for romantically cozy evenings. It looks as if Alcove amenities only include bottled water (4) and a fruit plate. No Grey Goose, no beer, no cheese plate. Is this another Celebrity downgrade?

I’m sailing on the Equinox in May. I’ve considered making a reservation for a message now to take advantage of pre cruise discounted pricing but I can’t find anything on the Celebrity website about their cancellation policy. I was on hold for over an hour to speak to a representative but finally gave up. Does anyone have any information regarding message cancellations.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Celebrity but why are they wasting time and money on this rather than putting those much needed resources toward IT needed to make their website accurate?

Yes, there is a mini fridge. Yes, It’s stocked like a mini bar No, not included with any package. We always ask the cabin attendant to remove the items and replace with our own. You are allowed 2 bottles of wine each and soda and water you want to bring onboard,

Are you able to control room lights, TV, etc as on Apex & Edge?

Just got off the Apex on an Iceland-Ireland cruise. Not being tech savvy, I was surprised how much I enjoyed using the onboard app. We’ve just booked a cruise on the Equinox and was wondering if this technology is on that ship?

We will be sailing on Celebrity Apex out of Amsterdam on June 7. If we test positive while on board it’s my understanding that at the end of the cruise Celebrity would give us the option of staying on board or completing our quarantine in an Amsterdam hotel. If we complete our quarantine in a hotel does Celebrity confiscate our passports and give them to Netherlands immigration and if so how and when do we get them back? I’m never comfortable being without my passport. I’m just trying to explore all scenarios before out trip.

Hope you are feeling better soon. You mentioned that Celebrity offered $$ toward hotel rather than staying on board. Would you mind sharing how much they offered?

The lack of escargot was posted on FB by someone who just got off Apex.

Please say it isn’t so. Have read that Celebrity no longer serves escargot. One of my favorites and was looking forward to it on June 7th Apex sailing out of Amsterdam. Maybe their European suppliers will have it.
