  1. It is not totally reliable often a person can log off but if you set up some guidelines about how often to check in etc you might make it work. but to be honest, when our child was a preteen we did not let her get too far out of sight so walkie-talkies worked well. Our child is now 16 and on our most recent cruise, we used Snapchat to communicate fairly efficiently. Only one of us at the time had paid wifi but notifications would go through. we could send her a notification and she would know to check the Hub app.
  2. Does the type of driver's license matter if the person has a birth certificate?
  3. I have learned that many people do not listen to the directions and many just decided to leave when they are ready. For example on our recent cruise, when had FTTF that had special debarkation procedures. We were told to meet in the midship dining room at 8:20 but by 8:00 the hallways were jammed with folks trying to carry their monster suitcases of the ship. We could not even get off the elevator.
  4. You said that you thought both rooms were paid so it seems you did not actually pay for both rooms. I too would be upset with the travel agent for not picking up the phone and calling before the due date. I suspect that you are out of luck for this cruise. I hope everyone learns a lesson from this. First, research the travel agent and make sure they have procedures in effect to prevent problems like this. Second, always know the due date and make sure you are handling the payments. I know in the past when I used a travel agent, I could not even call Carnival to ask a question much less have access to my cruise planner so this is why I decided ten years ago to go with a Carnival PVP..Third, set up a default payment that would automatically make the final payment if for whatever reason you fail to make it. Finally, use a reliable email. I have used the same email for my personal business for 25 years although I have at least a dozen other email addresses used for work and various other things.
  5. Mid-night Miami time but in New Orleans on our recent cruise, they did not really check the time.
  6. Right, someone is confusing a Real ID with an Enhanced Driver's Licenced.
  7. I did not know you could rent recliners but you could check the dimensions of the door in the cabin descriptions somewhere on the internet. Another option might be to have one of the ship's recliners in the cabin. Good luck.
  8. The glory was $10 last week. I keep walking.
  9. I was on the Glory 6/18/23 to 6/25/23. We found that I messages and. Facebook Messenger at times worked. Also, we received notifications from our security cameras and SnapChat without being corrected to the paid Carnival Wifi. My daughter had the mid-range paid Wifi on her device and found SnapChat text and video calls worked most of the time while we found that Facebook would not work too well in the cabin but worked ok in the ship's interior areas.
  10. You can have my bucket. On our last cruise, I noticed many folks filling ziplock bags with ice and a few with ice buckets so I know they had them on the Glory but we left the Yeti cups and Coke Zero at home. I was fine to drink the Pepisi Zero and Diet Mt. Dew.
  11. No ice bucket-Deal breaker! Not for us, we don't make drinks in the cabin so there is no need for an ice bucket. It is just a mess maker.
  12. Personally, I would try to get it done before the cruise but doing it on the ship would be easy on the first or two of the cruise. (Seattle may have a rule to forbids the use of the washers while in port so I would try to check for that.) Enjoy, we are sailing the Spirit out of Mobile for Thanksgiving.
  13. No formal nights at all- it is cruise elegant,
  14. Mr. Heald said the new schedules will be released in the fall.
  15. If you want some truly great snorkeling then take a paid professionally guided tour but for a relaxing day the free beach is great.
  16. I recently sailed out of New Orleans with FTTF and that is what the personal look at. They sat us at the FTTF section. We got called right after the prioity folks.
  17. But it is not a few thousand. If a ship has 3000 passengers, it would be 750.
  18. Maybe the friends over paid for the cruise to make up the difference.
  19. yes, it really is not a big problem to have it down.
  20. There is no Carnival ship that has thousands of diamond, platinum, or even FTTF guest, a few hundred at the most.

    Sloths

We did an excursion in Honduras with the Shore Excursion Group (Creg Henry was the tour operator) to a sloth/monkey/bird exhibit because the Carnival excursion was sold out. It is a nice uphill walk to meet the excursion although half way up you can get a taxi for $2 per person to take you the rest of the way. Once we got the meeting point, the three of us got into a beat-up Toyota Corolla. The driver was an outgoing local woman who was well spoken and provided a lot of information about the island. The exhibit was quite disappointing. It was a rundown group of buildings. The monkeys were mostly in cages although some were free in the trees. The actual interaction with the animals was fun but brief. I hope they were well-care kept. The driver then took us to a chocolate store, and then a rum cake store that had a great view of a bay. Overall, I would not recommend this tour.
  22. Our cabin was 7334. It was a good location right near the mid-ship elevators. The room was in good condition-clean and well-cared for the only real issue was the noisy and smelling head. One new thing is that there were charging ports in both bedside lamps.
  23. I thought that was quite funny. Sure the water, drinks, and gifts are not delivered to cabins anymore but they are not hard to find.
