Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. https://halfacts.com/4131-eurodam/ https://halfacts.com/5054-eurodam/ https://halfacts.com/signature-class/8119-nieuw-amsterdam/ Note that the Eurodam is the sister ship and should have the same configuration.
  2. Ours was when my husband was hospitalized right before one of our cruises left.
  3. Sadly, it is completely different. Noordam is the only ship HAL has that has this tub and seat configuration. A kind lady currently on Noordam and the passengers in 6164 kindly hot some pics of the bathroom for us today. they are submitting the pics to Halfacts. I’m shocked that the cabin could have ever been considered fully accessible. HAL has reclassified the cabin as ambulatory accessible as a result of concerns expressed by the current passengers. The handicapped member of their group is unable to independently transfer. The deep jacuzzi tub has a seat set across it and a few inches below the tub’s top edge.
  4. I tried a call to guest services yesterday evening and they closed before anyone picked up. Out PCC is away this week. I’ll try the Special Needs Dpt today. Thanks!
  5. Haljo, unfortunately Halfacts doesn’t have either cabin. Neither does YouTube as far as I can find. I think Noordam is the only ship that has this particular sideways aft suite with an “accessible” bathtub. ive sailed Noordam in an aft suite years ago, but long before an accessible site became necessary.
  6. My husband is handicapped so we booked 6164 for a 14 day Alaska cruise. This evening, I got a notification that the room is now considered ambulatory accessible because the seat in the tub is not the correct height for transfers. It is not the typical roll in shower with seat for most accessible cabins, like we’ve had before. I’m concerned. Has anyone stayed in 6164 or 6175 that has bathroom pics they can share?
  7. We have stayed in all these on port side. 8 - never again with pool noise. deck six was exceptionally small, relatively speaking. I would grab either 5 or 7.
  8. My husband and will be in this sailing as well. We are taking the auto train on Sunday See you on board!
  9. There are no more colored tags. The tickets are now virtual on your Navigator app. The tour staff can also scan your room card to identify the ticket.
  10. LAFFNVEGAS, I wasn’t aware HAL was doing this. It was such a pleasant surprise! We were debating what to do if the Signature Suite was filled. Linda
  11. I am in shock this afternoon. I called my PCC to book an 11 day cruise next year. The cost for the Neptune suite was just more than I wanted to pay, even though we normally stay in one. My husband’s health has gotten worse this year and he now needs a fully accessible handicapped cabin. I asked for a handicapped Signature suite, but they were all booked. Our PCC upgraded us to a fully accessible handicapped Neptune suite at no additional charge over the cost of a Signature suite. I’m shocked, and so thankful that she was able to do that for us. ♥️ Linda
