Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Like you, the vast majority of the time we'd drive to the ports as we lived in South Florida. As age starts to creep up, and the fact that we are starting to fly to more ports, we've now felt that trip insurance is valuable purchase. We've gone with the annual plan from Nationwide for the last few cruises.
  2. If the OP hasn't sailed yet, I can tell you, that... YES! Quest was on the Legend this past week. Cam was the CD and did a very good job with the show. Very close to the old style Quest. AND... you know the rules... That's all I can say.
  3. Need a favor. Can anyone grab a photo and post here the hours for the week that the gym is open? Especially interested in embarkation day. Appreciate your time. Thanks in advance.
  4. Here's your answer... Mongolian style lunch is servered different ways on different ships. Some ships have "Counter/Self service" in an area in the buffet. You grab a bowl, add protein, noodles and veggies, and give it to the chef. He adds sauce, woks it all together while you wait, and hands it back to you. On ships that have Jiji's, you get served via a "fill in the box" menu, as Saint Greg stated above. We usually make Jiji"s our "go to " spot for our embarkation lunch, as it is usually empty. Fellow cruisers don't realize that ther is a really good lunch there until later in the cruise. Hope this helps...
  5. No need to tip the room steward daily. We usually give him/her something when we first meet them and then again on the last night. You can do either or both. As far as bartenders, we tip them a dollar or two after every drink in cash.
  6. Celebration will also have "neighborhoods" just as the MG does. The New Orleans area of the MG is a very popular spot. On the Celebration, the same area will be known as "The Gateway"... It will also feature a new-to-Carnival bar called Latitudes, designed to be reminiscent of bars found in airports and train stations around the world. From the artist renderings online, this is going to be a very popular area.
  7. Wife and I have more luggage tags then we'll ever need. At this point, we find "blue card" (first time) cruisers on board and give the luggage tags to them. They are always very appreciative.
  8. Thanks for your review. Sailed in a Cove balcony many years ago and loved it!
