  1. Good news about Linda's progress indeed! I hope your surgeon's schedule allows knee replacement soon. At least Adventure's size makes it more walkable than the big girl ships. I found that out after Bella Oasis cruise following our February Adventure cruise.
  2. Goodness, I hope that's the last of your cabin issues. As others have said, totally unacceptable. On another note, @Sea Dog Greg how is Linda doing? I hope her hand pain is under control. Hopefully, the next 3 months will fly by without issue. @h20skibum Mark, I hope Susan feels better fast. I just love reading and seeing pictures of your family adventures.
  3. Seriously? We had torrential heavy rain with lots of winds for approx. 20 minutes. I'm approx. 17 minutes from where you are. I googled. 🤔
  4. I'm glad @TravelGirlinDallasBethany and family are missing our Sunday monsoon like torrential rain. 4% chance of rain in Galveston with sunny skies for the afternoon. Sounds like it will be a nice sail-a-way.
  5. I hope Susan's symptoms are as mild as mine were. Now she's part of our CC Covid gang. @Sea Dog I hope Linda's pain diminishes. If she was sent home with pain meds and she takes them, I hope they work to at least take the edge off. Each day will, hopefully, get better than the one before. It's good that Lizzy, Charlie and Kylar are hanging close. So helpful! Please try not to overdo yourself and take care the best you can with your knee pain. @DaniDanielle Marietta, sounds like Charlie is well on his way to recovery.
  6. "If the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left handed people are in their right minds". BTW, I'm right handed. 😉🤣 So glad things are going well for Charlie and Linda. Hope@jagsfan Mimi is ok.
  7. We lived on South 2nd Street in Williamsburg before moving to Manhattan or NY as mom used to say. It seems like we have quite a few similarities in our lives.
  8. Yes!! Oct. 17 will be 10 years. Houston has horribly high humidity. Luckily, Dallas and surrounding areas have bearable humidity most times. We do get high temps like this week will be low 100s for days. Although I live in TX and love being here, NY will always be considered my home. It's part of who I am. That's ok. I like you anyway. 😊
  9. The City will always be Manhattan to me. My mom, from Williamsburg Bklyn, originally Poland, called Manhattan: "NY". I spent 10 of the best summers of my life on the island. Staten Island! Lenny worked there but came in from Brooklyn. I had the best time on the Staten Island ferry. Soft pretzels with mustard squeezed on top can instantly take me back to my childhood summers on the ferry. Here in TX, I'm like a fish out of water no matter what I say. 🤣
  10. I never made fun of calling Staten Island "the island". I never knew anyone who lived on Staten Island so I never heard anyone call it "the island". More importantly, I hope you'll be getting good news about Charlie today.
  11. Continued prayers for a successful outcome. Charlie is in good hands to get better so he can come home where he belongs. As an ex-NYer, I always understood "the island" to mean Long Island, Now I know it's also Staten Island! @jagsfan Mimi I hope you're feeling better!
  12. Greg, best wishes for Linda's successful hand surgery. So sorry you're experiencing so much knee pain. I hope the interim injections help before surgery and that you both can enjoy your Oct. cruise to the fullest. I know it will be a blast!
  13. My deepest sympathy on the passing of your uncle. May his memory be a blessing to all that loved him. Although I love sharing stories about Rockland County, this one is one I wish never happened. Tragic story of the young lady who was killed. I don't ever remember it raining so hard in the 27 years I lived there.
  14. Debbie this is one of those posts that I feel weird hitting the "like" button. I am so sorry for the passing of Eric's friend, Bill. May his memory be a blessing and may he rest in peace. One time in NY, I exited a bagel store, got into my van and got very confused since something was off. The van I was sitting in was an exact copy of my van which was parked next to the one I was in. I froze and quickly exited. Can you imagine what would have happened if the owner came to his/her car? Another reason to lock your car even if you intend to be gone a short time.
  15. Amazing and so beautiful. I'm not a music expert, but to me her voice sounds the same as it did all those years ago!
  16. I always loved Melissa Manchester songs. She's the "Sweet Melissa angel of my lifetime" mentioned in Barry Manilow's "Could It Be Magic" song.
  17. I haven't heard her sing in many years but I do remember how clear and sweet her voice was. No background music necessary. Paul M. wrote "When I'm 64" when he was only 14 and recorded it in his 20s. I remember hearing it played on my car radio on his 64th birthday.
  18. I've posted this before. I was at the Newport Folk Festival sometime in the late 60s. It was fabulous! Saw Bob Dylan, Judy Collins and a host of others perform. As a single gal at that time, I remember how cute those Navy guys stationed in Newport were. 😉 I just spent quite a while trying to track down a song that I love. I couldn't remember the name, but the tune kept playing in my mind. FINALLY, I googled "songs by Andrea Bocelli" and boom, there it was, "Time To Say Goodbye". I never tire of hearing that song.
  19. We've been to Newport 3x. Great town to visit. Totally adorable. How long were they with you? Seems like a short stay. Love their towel or blankie!
