  1. Remember that you will have several clothing layers on when you choose the size. The do have an excessive amount of pockets, inside straps (to attach items to) and are waterproof. I love the detachable black vest (no sleaves) for those chilly, but not cold days at home. Being that bright green, you don't have to wonder about anyone (drivers) not seeing you at night.
  2. We were forced to get off the plane with all our carry on luggage. Did not pass through customs, but was redirected to another security check point, and then reboarded the plane. I suspect the individual at the embassy that I spoke to did not have the correct information. In addition, Brazil has pushed their e-visa requirement back to April 2024,
  3. We flew FlyBondi yesterday. Went very smoothly from arriving at airport to loading and p/u luggage on arrival and they provided a sanwich, chips cookie and non alcoholic drink.
  4. Not what I was told by the embasy when I inquired, but interesting in reading your comment. That said god forbid if your plane has a problem and you have to sit in the unserviced space awaiting a new plane or crew who had timed out.
  5. Learned yesterday that the Brazilian Government has moved the e-vias requirement back to April 2024. What a waste, other than they are good for 5 years.
  6. Great to hear. We are on the Jan 15 World Traveller and will be spending five days in BA before doing the charter. We have packed our "Antartica Bag" and have included a smart tag. Hopefully it does not get left in Toronto Ontario. We learned last spring on a trip to Baltic, two of our bags missed the connection flight. Because we were able to tell lost baggage exactly where they were (T2 in Paris) and had pictures we had taken before the flight, they were returned to us in about 40 hours. Make sure you make a lost baggage claim with the airline for appropriate compensation.
  7. our e-visas have arrived. Many individuals have indicated that they don't believe they are necessary if you stay in the international area of the airport. Will update you after we arrive in Buneos Aires on January 10th if they were requested at boarding in Toronto; landing & departure from Brazil.
  8. Well done. Learned more about out upcoming Jan 15, 2024 cruise then found out on this board for the last 16 months of planning. Thanks especially for the clothing comments (as partner loves to overpack) and to leave the suitcases and not take them on the tour.
  9. and Atlas could fix it in about 10 minutes or less by updating their boiler plate response sheet.
  10. for those who were wondering about the Brazil E-Visa the application form is now live.
  11. Went to the Fly Bondi site and it states international carry on luggage is 10 kilos (22 pounds)
  12. Will do trip report as we normally due after on Cruise Critic. Check out the lead story on the news page of Cruise Critic today.
  13. Atlas is at it again. Recieved boiler plate letter today with a maximum of 17 lbs for the carryon. Wish they would fix thier boiler plate. Truley unprofessional.
  14. good question. hopefully travellers will shar their experience.
  15. Snow machine boots generally have felt liners.
  16. most days there are two sessions, one mid afternoon and one early evening.
  17. I have searched the site for more information on the actual boots Atlas provides in the mud room. Sigificant other wants to know if they are cloth/material lined or like snow mobile boots, have a felt liner. Her concern is will two sock layers (thin and thick) will keep her feet warm. Thanks for sharing your experience.
  18. Thanks. Will call. Was able to access site but no drop down pops up for reason for visit. Iy dose for first three questions.
  19. Thanks for the update. The visa link for canadians does not allow for entering a response for purpose of trip.
  20. It has almost been 3 months since the statement from AOV that a updated and improved web site was to be released. Although I see changes (not necessarily improvements) I wonder if it is still a priority for AOV, At the very least a general Q&A page with there most repeatively asked questions from booked guests and TA's would save them a lot of phone call time.
  21. Flying south on Jan 9 arrive on 10 in BA. We chose early as AC90 direct flight is every 2 days. Could have gone on 11th, however in the freeze of the winter, chose early incase of snow storm that causes a cancelled flight. Return on 26th on AC91. Also allows us to truely discover BA.
  22. Thanks for your comments.and information. We travel south on Jan 9 and return jan 26. I guess we will get the visa to mKe sure we are allowed on the plane in Toronto.
  23. There are new rules effective October 1st for the nationalities I listed. Deplaning I picked up from oneYoutube blogger. Also lots of blogs on new rules on Youtube. I do not know if you have to leave a secure area, but the blogger said we have to deplaine while it is being refueled and because we touch Brazil you have to be processed by customs.

    VISTA

Was in Balcony cabin for the same transalantic cruise. We too were use to past sailing that the storage space was in the cabin. After a few days we discovered lots of extra storage in the Washroom, almost as much as in the rest of the cabin. Food was great, however Embers was an extreme disappointment. Staff were very attentive, but service in some venues was slower than in the past. Disappointed the we missed four ports (one fog, three Hurricane Lee) but understand the importance of safety, While waves were 14 to 16 feet during the Hurricane, we were able to move around reasonable well and no sickness for us (others were by our guess because the number of open tables in resturants was way, way up. The comics entertainers on board were some of the best we have seen onboard, TV, or movies. Suggestion: want to save on their wine, ask for the end of line wine list, substantial savings. Love our trip, impressed with VISTA, best washroom upgrade I seen.
  25. There are some, very limited varitey of items, located in the clothing boutique, to right of cash desk, in the corner on shelf facing the door. Not visable from outside the shop.
