Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. If they do to the Legend what they did to the Pride then it won't be too major. Card room on deck 2 near the coffee joint was removed and became Carnival Adventures store. Night club was converted to only deck 2 with lower portion removed and converted into 5 new staterooms and a dedicated chefs table. I saw this on the Pride and they did a very good job with this. On deck 2 by the atrium a Dream studio room was created for private photo shoots. I think the rest was the typical stuff like carpeting, fixing things, etc. Hopefully they see fit to add the big screen by the pool near Guy's and Blue Iguana Cantina. One last thing, if you like the hot tub up front in the spa area, say your goodbyes!
  2. Forget spending the night in New Orleans, just get a flight out on Friday the 25th.
  3. Or go back after and do it again. I have never called to apply gift cards. Now if you are booking after final payment then yes you will need to call.
  4. Much better than the many drink koozies I already have for sure. I have put this bag to good use.
  5. I don't see any advantage to waiting. Carnival prices have been going only up that I have seen lately. Plus now you get a better selection of staterooms. If you book early saver rate and the price drops you can take advantage of that and Carnival will match the lower price.
  6. I had the same issue. I just waited until "regular" check in opened up and then added my flight info. This happened in January also so it is an ongoing glitch.
  7. Not only is it unlikely to go on sale, a betting person would have their money on a price increase very soon. Carnival has been dipping into the well of price increases all the time now! They just hit bottled water and cheers cannot be far behind as evidenced by the individual drink prices of 14 dollars being fairly typical for a mixed drink with gratuity included.
  8. I do buy entire cruises with gift cards every time so the answer is yes! Only caveat is you are married to the gift cards and if you have to cancel the cruise you are only getting back your refund as gift cards. You can only use so many cards per transaction but you can go back and add more if you max out . I am not sure how many cards can be applied in one transaction, but it's a few at least.
  9. My guess is your second part about obvious drink in hand is the correct meaning of Carnival's announcement. Now, if they start scanning everyone's backpack before they get off then we can interpret it to mean no beverages at all 😉 . I am a per drink person so I wouldn't have any skin in the game either way. My main problem is just getting to HMC. I have had two cancelled cruises going there and last year we got close and then it was a no go due to weather.
  10. All you cheers purchasers need to solve the "connectivity issue" is a big bubba full of your favorite mixed drinks before you head to HMC. One every five minutes will fill your bubba up fairly quickly before you go.
  11. Gotten beaten over the head with some pom poms have you? 😉
  12. That is exactly why I posted the question with two questions marks! I got off the Pride a week ago and the MDR food was among the most bland I have ever had on Carnival, and I am not a foodie nor picky. It is like all the pasta meals were devoid of flavoring. The Cajun pasta you would think would have some flavoring, but nope. I am bringing some spices and hot sauce for my upcoming 14 day Alaska cruise in a couple weeks. The servers were great, the food wasn't.
  13. But in theory they are also making much more money under the guidelines of how gratuities are distributed, right?? Once a day is fine for me and some days I would just be happy with fresh towels.
  14. Carnival has really been testing the water with price increases. 12 half liter water bottles for 14.95 plus 18 percent delivery fee. Remember how water was going to be fairly priced after they banned bringing your own? I have noticed a huge markup for balcony rooms over interiors so I have decided interiors aren't that bad at all. Choices are good !
