Thank you for the information. I knew that we had passed it on our way to and from the ship, but forgot the distance. Taxi it will be!

I will be doing a back to back T/A on the QM2 in October, traveling solo. I would like to visit the Titanic Museum on the turn around day. Does anyone know If Cunard offers a day excursion or would I just take a taxi on my own. I know it's not far from the ship, but probably too far to walk. Thanks.

VRBO and HomeAway are the other (more traditional, perhaps) sites that list flats.
As noted above, Bloomsbury is a good location. Nearby Soho is a fun, noisy area with lots of shows/restaurants/pubs. Also nearby is Covent Garden, which is quieter and maybe a bit more upscale than Bloomsbury.
Victoria is another central London area that might work for you.
We used Homeaway for our recent stay at a flat in Chelsea. Great location, beautiful apt. I would recommend checking that out.

I had very good luck with this service if you are interested in private transportation. I also found their prices to be very good when compared to other similar services.
Of course if price is the key issue, nothing beats the National Express Bus!
We are just off the Oceania cruise around the British Isles. We used Smith's from Heathrow to Southampton, from Southampton to our flat in Chelsea for a week, and from Southampton back to Heathrow to get home. Service could not have been better. Vans clean and drivers super friendly. Price was much less than what Oceania charged.

I've enjoyed reading your travelogue also. I will also be doing a back to back from New York in October. First time as a solo cruise, but not the first time on the QM2. Any tips on cruising solo?
