  1. This was also our experience at the Porch. We liked it very much but have decided to try the Grill next time.
  2. DH surprised me with a dining package on our TA from Southampton last November. We had 2 dinners and one lunch. Used the lunch on the Porch for our last sea day. The Seafood Tower was amazing. I had the lobster roll and DH the seafood pasta.
  3. Does anyone remember the Century series of ships and the Cirque du Soleil "characters" interacting with passengers in the Forward Lounge? This Eden thing is just another iteration of that tired idea. No one liked it then and from what I see online, not too keen this time around. We would like to try Edge and Apex but the traditional verandas are hideous and the IV's not to our taste. DH saw a video of Symphony of the Seas and was hooked so we are trying it in February. At least they still have regular balconies.
  4. Have to say, Celebrity's breakfast buffet is the best of any cruise line I have been on in 25 years. The photo is actually from lunch. We are late risers so never at breakfast when everything is still pristine. So this photo was taken as we were leaving from breakfast and about 5 minutes before lunch was open!
  5. The problem is that they wash everything in very hot water and anything delicate will be ruined. They do not guarantee the results.
  6. Are there any port days in this cruise? You might want to ask your cabin steward if he knows of any laundromats near the port.
  7. In 2008, we took our kids and their spouses on a cruise. We flew into FLL a day early remembering too late on the flight that we had forgotten our passports. Several flights out of O'Hare were cancelled due to a severe snowstorm. Instead of DH having to fly home and retrieve said passports, our TA went to our house w/a friend who was a locksmith, entered our home (with our permission of course) took the passports off DH's dresser and FedEx'd them to our hotel. They arrived in time for us to board the bus to the pier.
  8. Hi Mary, I can answer your question but for more opinions, post this question on the Baltic port of call board. First of all, join the Roll Call for your cruise on these Boards. There will be much sharing of information about all the ports of call for your cruise. When we did the Baltic on Vision, I found and joined a group who already had booked a private tour with ALLA tours. MUCH BETTER than the ship's excursions! We had 14 people on our tour of St. Petersburg with early access to museums, etc. and easier on the wallet. As far as being able to walk the tour, don't worry. It is mostly flat walking with some stairs. I was 69 y/o climbing the Acropolis and 71 y/o touring the Baltic and did it w/o any trouble. You do need stamina for the walking and there are some chances to sit/stand. Of course you are sitting on the bus between sites some of which are 30-60 minutes apart. Here is my review of that cruise which has quite a bit of detail. https://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=587874 Happy to answer any questions you may have. Susan
  9. This was in the WJ every day on Vision in 2017. I ate it twice a day.
  10. Embassy Suites might be your best bet. Go to their website or call them directly.
  11. Leaving Port Everglades last November, there was a separate line for Global Entry and I didn't even have to show my card. Hubby went through regular customs and was out 5 minutes later.
  12. My travel agent recommended GoShuttle for travel from FLL to our Miami hotel as we will arrive a day early. We plan to use them for this purpose. We'll use the hotel shuttle or taxi to the port. Coming back, the TA booked us the RCCL transfer option from the port to FLL for $39/pp.
