Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Refined Modern Luxury pencil and pad features a beautifully sculptured head made of the finest lead mined in the Swiss Alps. Gorgeous deep blue sea color is sure to please the most demanding passengers at sea!....and don't forget, for $19.99 a day, we will upgrade your standard pencil and pad package to the premium unlimited P&P (pencil and pad). Upgrades include new and improved built in eraser and push to replenish lead tip that eliminates the need to stand in line to sharpen your pencil with lowly free (P&P) passengers....hurry, offer ends soon (doesn't it always)!
  2. That ship was provisioned when they boarded with the food for the menus. IF something didn't make the ship, the F&B dept had ample time to adjust the menus in advance. They don't provision the day of dining service.
  3. I feel sorry for all those in bigger (non-Sky suites)...they won't get the "same ELEVATED level Retreat experience!" as those in sky suites 😅😂. They sure know how to twist reality and make it smell like roses in the marketing department.
  4. Increase gratuities and decrease service....sure, makes sense!
  5. we sailed the Edge March 2023 and Virgin Valiant Jan & June 2023...Virgin's food is on a different planet. It's like comparing a school cafeteria (X) to a high quality land based restaurant (Virgin). You will never return to X after sailing on Virgin if you are a foodie...
  6. Oceania is a great alternative. Food is better than X pre-pandemic quality.
  7. "Premium Selections"...for additional price. X is making the jump to "Non-Premium" cruise line, charging for upsell entrees in MDR like Carnival and RCCL does...
  8. Ships into the night is honestly the worst show on any Virgin ship. Around the world with the Diva is excellent, but some Diva's are better than others, and I agree Carlos IS the best Diva of them all! If he is on your sailing don't miss it!
  9. First off, unless you have been on Virgin, hold back judgement based on YouTube video opinions. We have been on 3 Virgin cruises, and have been on over 10 Celebrity, so we have 1st hand experience with both lines. we are a married M/F couple in our early 50's. Vigin superior vs Celebrity (IMHO) 1. Virgin food is top quality (not cheap cuts of meat like Turkey found on C) , and it's all free (well, unless you want something special like Truffles or a seafood tower). Filet for lunch in Wake open everyday? YES. That's just one example. Tons of food options and most have longer hours. Best pizza at sea! And food isn't banquet style it's all cooked to order so you can modify anything easily! 2. NO kids. Yes, NO kids. That's a BIG positive. I don't care if the ship only has 50 on board, they will still manage to be found and some aren't exactly well behaved (most are). 3. Tons of activities and entertainment choices. Nearly all are free, except some with booze options. Sure, they have a dag show, but NOBODY is forcing you to go. We avoided this show, but decided to give it a try and it was super funny and entertaining 4. The average age on Virgin is 50. Yes, they originally thought it to be lower, but it's not. I would guess it's somewhat lower than Celebrity....but it's no more of a party ship then Celebrity especially since their is no all you can drink package. Less completely over served people, IMHO. The shorter cruises are more of a party vibe, as expected with any cruiseline 5. SERVICE. It's authentic. Not robotic. Crew is not stressed and overworked like any other cruiselines. It shows in how much more relaxed crew is. Happy crew, Happy pax. 6. Ship size. Perfect and not too big. Rarely do they exceed 2,000 guest. Never feels crowded 7. CHEAPER drinks. The prices of all drinks are all inclusive, no plus 20%! You can get bottle service in some venues. 375ml bottle of Vodka or Gin is about $45 including fees and mixers! 8. Bimini private beach club. WOW, great place to chill and relax without all the annoying slides and other stuff geared towards the under 18 crowd. 9. Price online is all inclusive, except alcoholic drinks. Tips, standard bevs like soda, internet, dining. Virgin inferior to Celebrity 1. Ship design. It's very unpolished in some areas. More industrial and design over function. 2. Buggy app, yes, it's getting better...but still have some polishing to do 3. Rooms are as luxurious, and storage not as well planned. It works, but overpackers be aware 4. Bathrooms are WAY too small. Period. Good quality shower gear, but too small. 5. Entertainment isn't mainstream. Don't expect musicals. Good news is you can choose what appeals to you. 6. Confusing layout with bad signage. Please read opinions from pax that have sailed on both cruiselines...too many experts that have never stepped foot on Virgin can tell you why not to try it!
  10. Bourbon is super popular right now, and SS offers ONE choice, Makers Mark...what gives? You can go on Celebrity, it's sister line, and find 10 choices. Please, no Covid/supply chain relies...
  11. New All you can eat Dining packages be offered soon as follow: All you can eat Lobster for $49.99 plus 20% gratuity. All you can eat Prime Rib for $59.99 plus 20 gratuity All you can eat Filet Mignon for $69.99 plus 20% gratuity Or choose our ALL inclusive ALL YOU CAN EAT FEAST PLAN for $99.99 plus 20% gratuity...wait, don't give Celebrity more ideas on how to gouge us for what we already paid for in our AI cruise pricing, LoL 🤣
  12. we tipped $5 for every time we order a round of drinks (2) and they were on top of our drinks the entire time! In the casino, tipping is allowed...
  13. Wow, no tequila or bourbon? when did that change? How low can they go....
  14. "there had been coffee and danish available for those of us in there waiting on departure. Well you can probably guess….nada, nothing," They were saying the elite disembarkation room was empty of any coffee or food. They didn't say no room existed. Just more penny pinching or someone didn't perform their job correctly that was responsible for it to be stocked.
