  1. What route do you take? Do you go on the roads or is there a path along the shore? Thanks.
  2. I've enjoyed a Cuban Coffee there while watching the band or karaoke in the evenings.
  3. Last year we cruised with our two year old granddaughter and her mother didn't want to put her in a cab so we were limited to walking distance and ended up at Sunset Restaurant. They have an upper dining room at street level and outside tables and small beach area with entry into the ocean in back on a lower level. There is no charge, they just ask you make a purchase. We had snacks and drinks and lunch - reasonably priced and tasty, Not like a beach resort, but kind of the best option for walking to. We had a great day swimming, relaxing and enjoying the sun. From where Carnival usually docks (puerta maya) it was about a 15 minute walk with lots of shops and things to look at along the way. https://maps.app.goo.gl/oVoDJgLtHfuxLmvs5
  4. Paradise is definitely more laid back in comparison. We are the same age and prefer Paradise.
  5. No, it's just on the Spirit. Also, if a class shows as full on the app, you can wait at the door at the start time and get in if there are no-shows.
  6. There is no tram. It's about a 5-10 minute walk for mobile people. There are benches on the way where you can stop and rest.
  7. We sailed the Spirit last Halloween to the Caribbean and loved the ship. Really had a great vibe and feel as you moved around the ship. Not only does it have the Guys/Blue Iguana, but it also has a larger Red Frog Pub that has live music at night that we really enjoyed. One thing it has that your daughter may like is the Soul Play free art classes. Just make sure you sign up thru the HUB app on the first day.
  8. We loved "Bahamian Cooking". Its one block up from the port on Parliament Street. It's 3 generations of women making home-cooked Bahamian comfort food. Absolutely delicious. Prices were reasonable too. https://maps.app.goo.gl/CVxfKWzgLEuWWsfn6
  9. When our kids were smaller (pre-teen) we did five in an ocean view on the Elation. Two pullmans folded down from the ceiling and the brought in a rolloway bed. It was tight, but it saved enough money to allow us to cruise at that time - we had a blast.
  10. Haven't been on the Freedom, but have sailed on her sister ships Glory and Valor. Also have been on the Vista. I would choose the Vista because of more options for food and entertainment, specifically JiJi's alone would do it but also more stuff on the sports deck (ropes course, sky ride). Loved the gelato station in Lido Buffet, The Havana Bar, etc, etc.
  11. Our last crusie was on the Spirit with almost the same itinerary (HMC instead of Princess Cay) over Halloween and this is bringing back some fantastic memories. We loved the Spirit. If you want some delicious conch fritters, in Nassau, on your way to or from John Watlings (those Pina Coldas are excellent) stop in at Bahamian Cooking on Parliment St. one block south of the port. Everything we had was top-notch.
  12. I dont remember there being one. There is a private stairs at the front of the deck though that goes down to 12 where the thermal suites are.
  13. We did this a few years ago and loved it. It is the Tankah park. I would guess the hike in total is around a mile and a half. It's broken up as you stop at each cenote and there is plenty of time to rest before moving on. It's a little incline in some spots but not super steep, and the path is wide and paved with small gravel in a lot of places so it's easy walking. There is one part where you get in a canoe and paddle across the biggest one. It's kind of a loop I guess. Tankah - Google Maps
  14. I've never been to Skyreef, but have been to Moneybar several times. We've had some decent snorkeling (for Cozumel, from the shore) there and the food is really good. It's usually quiet and not too crowded and there are loungers or tables with umbrellas. There's a decent amount of coral, lots of small fish and we've also seen barracuda and a nurse shark.
  15. It's free. You sign up thru the hub app and it fills up soon. My wife signed up on embarkation day and got to go to the first session. I sat out in the Deco Lounge and read while she did it and I noticed that at about two minutes before it started they did take 3 or 4 walk ups once they sat everyone that registered.
  16. Tabyana Beach, Infinity Bay, Paradise Beach, Bananarama and Mayan Princess are all next to each other in that picture posted above. An excursion to any of those places will give you great snorkeling. The best place to enter the reef is in front of Infinity Bay but its a short walk from any of those other places.
  17. I have emailed with him before at victorbodden@yahoo.com
  18. With that goal in mind I think Paradise Beach would be perfect.
  19. Not been yet but I saw on a recent YouTube video that admission is $11
  20. We were there in January with our two year old granddaughter. We stayed at the port and did the bird sanctuary and walked around. There's a dolphin experience area you can pay to do, but it's easy to walk over and watch them playing. Theres a gelato shop, several animal sculptures, and other things to see. She loved it.
  21. If you prefer, it's less than a 10 minute walk from where you would get on the chair to the beach.
  22. jsglow and groundloop: My understanding was that it is the way both of you stated. However, on our Breeze sailing at the beginning of this year we never had to wait more than 5 minutes after checking in on the Hub app. Didn't really notice it at dinner, but at Seaday brunch we would quickly get a table for our group (including our kids/spouses) while there would be tons of people just outside MDR doors waiting for quite some time. I assumed we were getting moved to the top because of being platinum.
