  1. Thanks, didn't think about looking at that site. It's not like I have to see it, but it would it would be nice. I enjoy cruising, everything else that happens during a cruise is a bonus.
  2. We'll be on a late September/October cruise-should have longer nights--after Alaskan we head for Tokyo.
  3. When you get your answer from "O", make sure you take a copy of the document to show just in case the message doesn't get to the ship. Also don't wait, once on the ship reconfirm with the front office.
  4. Same with me.........sometimes I just order a car for 4 hours, other times just take the shuttle to city center--0nly take tours if it fills my needs. The few times we take a tour, we may just see what we want and leave the tour (after letting the tour guide know we are departing), do what we want and taxi back.
  5. Truth be said------------lounge hogs won't be stopped until "O" informs the rule.
  6. It's everybody's choice...you decide if the cruise or trip mis worth it or not. But with fuel cost, food and labor-prices are going to go up. If you work would you take less or do you expect a pay increase........
  7. Has anyone cruise "O" to Alaska and being able to see the Northern Lights from the ship? What month did you travel? Thanks in advance.
  8. We stayed at the JW Marriott - great location, took a car service to port.
  9. Actually yes, (a few years ago) we purchased the full drink package and had brought a few really good bottles of wine--now since we had purchased the drink package and wouldn't be drinking "O's" wine one would think they would have wavered the corkage charge, but no they didn't-they still wanted the $25.00 a bottle.
  10. It really doesn't matter who they have unless "O" has the food budget to make the difference. I don't think it's cheap at all, has long as they don't fill a class and take to a dining venue on the ship.
  11. I would believe it's the same on all "O" cruises. No jacket required - just a collared shirt and nice pants for men.
  12. Sorry, I thought you meant all announcements came in the cabin/suite.
  13. Sorry but I still don't like the idea of announcements in cabins/suites unless it's an emergency. If you want to hear you sound be able to turn your TV on a Chanel dedicated to this. If I'm resting, napping or just enjoying the quiet of my suite or watching a movie I don't won't to hear that bingo or trivia or something else is about to happen.
  14. But we shouldn't say never---it could happen-it just hasn't happen yet on "O".
  15. We did it once (years ago), they send someone from the staff to collect are luggage early. They did ask us to keep are luggage in the suite. It's been awhile, but we're hoping to mod this again in Tokyo. The ship arrives and clears customs the day before and we over night in Tokyo on the ship. If we can we'll be flying out HND, if for any reason we can't we'll be flying out of NRT. After cruise we plan on a week in Bangkok and a few days in Hong Kong before flying home.
  16. These are really fun, great way to pass the time. Something like this put your name in just in case someone drops out.
  17. I also like to book the suite I want, that way we are not disappointed - we get what we've paid for, plus we'll enjoy the cruise much more. Guaranteed - only means you'll get someplace on the ship, maybe a better cabin-but not the location you wanted. Waitlist, maybe you won't be going at all. The only way I'd do a waitlist is if I couldn't get the suite I wanted, but I'd be happy with what booked if I didn't make the cut.
  18. One would think unless it's an emergency that all PA announcements would be only made in areas that are public areas-never in a cabin or suite.
  19. Thank you again for taking the time, enjoying your post. Are you saying the CD announcements are coming into the cabin or just in public areas of the ship?
  20. Can't you use your SM credit for a private car tour? It's considered a tour expense and listed in tours.
  21. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your personal experience on the ship. It's fair and refreshing - some good, some so/so and some not so good. We've cruised with "O" about 8 times, then moved over to Regent for about 9 cruise-after that we moved to Silversea. We've enjoy all the cruises taken, had some great times and a few not so great. We've just booked an "O" cruise coming, so it's great to understand what's going on now at "O". Thanks again........looking forward to reading more.
  22. Thanks, We are deciding wither to take an early 10:30AM flight from HND or later 5:30PM flight from NRT.
  23. Surprise - We're booked on the Riviera Sept 2025 and the fare has gone up $800pp. Which is why we book as soon as we know which cruise we want!
  24. We take a large suitcase and never have had a problem. We really don't lug anything, you have porters at the hotel, ship and even at the airports. I'd rather wait 10 or 15 minutes than have to carry you bags on and off the plane, or hotel room and the ship.
